Chapter Text
Human existence is an experience. That is to say, from the far reaches of your mind you can remember something happened. Whether it was Hurricane Andrew throwing a tree through your nursery window or the first time you got what you wanted for Christmas- humans thrive on experience.
This is why it is so difficult to explain nothing to you.
The Void. The irradiated in-betweens of space. There is no light but your own. There is no sound but the ones you can make. There is nothing and there is everything in space. For humans, it is sensory depriving and terror. By the time any light or signal could reach you, you would have succumbed to the madness.
It is in this dark nothingness we find a being that can be reached, even from such distant stars. His derelict ship signal purposefully muted by the waves radiating from every direction. This noise rendered him stealthy against a backdrop of black. The ship itself is a relic of a warring planet. The hull marred with burnt metal yet still sturdy enough for space travel. This derelict ship lay dormant, passive and unseen for decades. The dark halls of the interior were as cool, dim, and vacant as the thronging space around them. But we all know that’s going to change.
Strange technology whirred to life as one of the radiating signals around it finally found its destined receiver. Energy flared as the onboard computer routed instructions to the main server. The computer itself made the decision to bring the whole ship online. The internal temperature of the ship flared hot to assure proper system function of its passenger. The deep cold of space could freeze any blood, no matter how hot it flared; energon surged into starved systems satisfying a deep hunger. After a few hours, exhaust jettisoned out between ridged ‘teeth’ and violent red eyes glared out. A soft groan of metal eked out as the hulking mass put a hand to his helm. Peering between thick metal digits, he searched to find the reason for his awakening.
A red light blinked on a transparent console and with a somehow gentle clawed pass, the light turned into a projected screen.
“Lord Megatron.” The pre-recorded message rendered with static in the voice. “Although my attempts at our discussed project have ended in mostly failure, I believe I have made a breakthrough in something else.”
The onscreen figure fumbled with his communication device obviously jerry-rigged from Cybertronian tech. After an awkwardly long pause, Megatron received a data file with very little corruption.
He frowned- the specs were not as big as he had hoped. He mused mostly to himself, “I do not like what I see, doctor.”
The static-ridden figure on the screen recovered control of the communication device, “Lord Megatron please do not let the size of this pet project of mine fool you. As you can see, the quantity, in this case, is the most important aspect. For now, you might not be able to conquer the new Cybertron, however….”
Megatron growled out on top of the onscreen speaker, “Earth is mine.”
“…Earth could prove a viable, almost unending energy source.” The good doctor finished beneath Megatron’s revelation.
With a few quick keystrokes, Megatron commanded energy flow through the ship. His menacing machine hummed to life at his command, begging to be used. It would take a few more hours for the dormant machinery to prime for space bridge travel, but to Megatron, it was a small price to pay for finally having his ultimate revenge against the humans. In a true evil despot fashion, he allowed himself a maniacal laugh as applause while his terrible plan rose from the depths of his twisted processor.
