Paradise

Summary:

Paradise, that is what I call it and therefore everyone else calls it. But Paradise isn’t a Utopia in the typical sense. There’s sex workers, porn and magazines, there is violence and vampires and at the heart of it, a creator who truly doesn’t care at all. Welcome to Hell… uhh Paradise…

Chapter 1: Home

Chapter Text

Mana was my most recent creation, a city atop the ocean waves and with a grand aquarium spanning deep below it. It rested on a rocky outcrop that went two thousand meters deep. High above Mana was Windbreak, the hotels and motels capital of the city itself. Mana was gigantic and it was host to a very diverse amount of beings, both sky and ground, and in fact, from the seas themselves too.

Flying mounts could be found in huge amounts here, due to the location. Hippogryphs, Griffons, Dragons, and many others.

Ground mounts were few though, mainly for the guards.

There were market stalls, actual brick and mortar stores, and many, many landing pads and perches.

Animals and other beings haggled for better prices. Store doors chimed on an endless loop as tourists entered to sample wares and where was I?

Not in Mana… my home was on the far side, the land side, between a mountain and a valley leading to a city made of wood and glass. A city whose main inhabitants were forest creatures. It was small, but it had the necessary things, including a school.

My house was made of wood and stone and vines, of course, vines with lovely colored flowers on them. It was archaic and it was homey, it didn't need anyone's personal touch, it was the personal touch.

I lived here with one other person and he was… well, lack for a better word on what he could be… a teenager? Possibly? By the way he acted he surely felt like that at times, most times.

"Zamasu? You didn't wash the dishes, come on!"

His door was always to be slightly ajar, because I wanted to ensure he was doing anything obscene…

"Ugh!" The sound came from his room, as he peered through the crack. "If this is your grand utopian existence, why must dishes be washed exactly?"

"Come on, it will teach you patience," I said, before saying it more to myself than him, "Well, maybe."

"Patience?! That’s a laugh, you sound exactly like Gowasu… chain me you mean, make me your puppet, your dancing little smug puppet…"

Zamasu loved playing The Darkness, likely because it fit him at the current moment. Him changing his voice any time he said puppet though, that seemed unuecessary and yet I had been no different.

Which made me consider myself a moment, I felt and acted like such a mum now due to him. I had lost my edge…

"Now, Zamasu!"

"Urgh, FINE!"

He came storming out of the room, his clothing completely askew, his pants not entirely done up. He also had an obsession with what many mortals have in their teen years, the whole emo/goth vibe. Painted nails, chains, leather, piercings, and necklaces. Plus many other things really. It was a wonder he had not yet changed his mohawk, it was blissfully still white.

"You better have not been wanking yourself off in there," I said eyeing him.

He looked at me horrified.

"I… I was doing no such thing! You are a walking sacrilege to these very ears, begone!"

I deadpanned him.

"My house, Zamasu, if you hate me that badly, remove yourself instead…"

I didn't expect he actually would, so when he walked out and slammed the door, I could only sigh.

But there wasn't really any place for him to go.

"Do not say a word! Not one!" He said as he stormed back in.

I put a finger to my lips and he could not believe the audacity, his eyes glaring holes into me that he nearly walked into the door frame.

"You could have been done by now, Zamasu."

The ki blast that flew my way was so obvious, I flicked it away and it traveled through the wall and out back somewhere before it detonated as a loud bang. The house wall and the place outside healing fully from the damage.

"Wasting so much time…"

I finally left him alone when he lifted his pants up and pulled back his sleeves.

"A Supreme Kai washing the dishes, how obscene, how highly unflattering."

To him maybe, but watching him wash them? He was adorable.

"Must you watch me?!" He said not turning fully.

"Yep, to ensure you do what I asked of you."

Another ugh and deep sigh.

"You have given me little choice, so now I must…"

"Maybe."

"Urgh!"

"Keep going, you won't get them done by the time your show starts at this rate."

His eyes widened and he looked at the time. Instantly he began scrubbing like his life depended on it, in a way with this show, it did.

Life went on everywhere, not just here, and in a few days if he kept up his good behavior, we'd visit Academia, the one from Final Fantasy 13-2 the one that I had placed in the distant skies above. The technology capital of this world.
