After lunch, everyone decided to go to the lake, so after a few minutes of disaster around the camp site with everyone yelling instructions or complaints and some others running around to get their things, everyone was on the way to the lake. The sun was bright and the tree line was a few meters away from the edge of the lake so it was necessary to put on sunscreen, Enid made sure that the three youngers did scolding them and forcing them to apply the cream on themselves with her watching just in case
"I'm watching you, little Addams, you live for the danger the sunburn can give to you, but no one is getting skin cancer on my watch, now shoo, go be kids and be careful entering the water" Enid narrowed her eyes, gesturing for the youngers to go away before walking to grab the sunscreen bottle she shared with Wednesday, after a few hours she needed to reapply the cream on her skin to make sure she wasn't getting sunburnt either
Of the older teens, some of the Nightshades were settling their things on the edge to the pier or walking around it so see how deep the lake was. Yoko was whining that the water was cold and Kent being Kent just shrugged and said "Unimportant." and jumped straight into the lake, splashing everyone near the edge, and being the first one to enter the water
Wednesday as usual just sat on the pier, looking around carefully, and keeping an eye on her brother knowing the naughty things he could try to do. The Stillwater younger's were the next to jump in the water, with Malia and Adrian racing each other onto the end of the pier and jumping into the water giggling. Valen sat beside Wednesday and grabbed his own phone, not in the mood to get in the water yet and Callum followed just to accompany them for a while
"Not in the mood for a dip?" Callum teased Wednesday, shoving her lightly on the shoulder while watching everyone else jump too. Ajax fighting Enid and both of them stumbling together down the last steps of the pier, and Yoko, Divina and Bianca walking slowly gathering the courage to jump into the lake
"I am in the mood for dipping my knife in your guts, if that is what you are referring to" Wednesday answered without looking at him, watching the now soaked blonde wolf trying to pull her best friend into the water faster
"Not even if your brother decides to follow your influence and tries to drown someone? Or himself?" Valen joined in, settling his body to angle towards them both
"I don't see the problem there, he can have a little fun as long as he answers for it on court" the goth shrugged uninterested "Why are you both not in the water? And Adrian, where did that damn vampire go?"
"I will swim in a while, wanted to enjoy the air and the calm that having everyone on water territory means, less people bothering you when you try to relax" Valen said leaning in his elbows and looking to the sky
"I just wanted to accompany my alpha and fellow seer, is that illegal now?" Callum assured calmly, crossing his ankles and looking around
The calm minutes that followed on land were almost blessings for the three of them, Callum and Valen were exceptionally quiet and calm, Wednesday appreciated that but she couldn't focus on reflecting in her mind because every other minute either her brother or Enid tried to do something dangerous that could hurt them. Though Wednesday knew both of them could handle a little stumbling, she preferred they weren't
"Hey! I bet ya' I can do the most incredible dive you will ever see" Ajax dared Kent, soon Yoko and Enid joined in too. So the four of them swam into the edge and climbed out "see this baby" Ajax told them before sprinting and at the edge making a mini jump and doing a little flip
"WOW!" "AWESOME, MAN!"
"Ha! That is nothing, see this one" Yoko tried, jogging and jumping too, doing a turn just in time so she ended up in a backwards flip into the water
"AAHH" "YOKO THAT WAS SOOOO COOL"
"You haven't seen nothing!" Kent yelped before running into the pier, but as he was nearing the edge of it, he slipped and fell on his butt "Ow!" he groaned while everyone else laughed at his fail "Well, I already am here" he added before walking to the edge and squatting "COWABUNGA, BABY!" and jumped with all his strenght, crouching in the air and landing on his back making water splash evewhere and everyone, including the ones in land
"Hey!" Valen groaned half-heartedly "I am not going in the water yet, why am I getting splashed?" he pouted and went back to his own reflecting
"Okay my turn, get ready to witness the best dive known on earth" Enid expressed before slowly speeding into the edge, just before it, she lunged on her side and threw her hands up, making a wheel on the wood that would send her into the water
But the wooden planks were still wet from the splash a few seconds earlier, so when her hands made contact with it, they didn't have much grip and one of them slipped. She still landed on water and nobody really noticed her little misshap, underwater she heard her friends yelling and celebrating, but her left wrist now stung a little from the weight she ended up putting on it and her right palm burned with scratches made on the wood
Nobody noticed, or at least that's what Enid thought, because the moment her palm made a move that wasn't meant to be, Wednesday noticed. The goth heard the yells and celebrations and watched how even Callum and Valen shouted with excitement, she stood up and walked to where Enid had landed near the edge while everyone went back to playing around. The blonde took her time to get up the surface to not show ny signs of pain on her face
"Take that, Tanaka" Enid joked to herself when she came out to get air, but when she turned a little to search for the nearest edge to sit a little and wait for her palm to heal she found Wednesday's eyes "Hey! Did you see my super cool move?" she joked
"I did, it was certainly more extravagant than Tanaka's" Wednesday accepted, watching the grin on Enid's face grow bigger "Though I saw your slipping hand too, are your hands okay? Did you scratch yourselve? Will we have to get a tetanus shot ready for the pup?" the goth told the wolf and tried to joke to soften the accusation
"Oh...you saw that, hehe, I'm fine. Werewolf healing, remember?" Enid showed Wednesday her palms while swimming closer to the edge "though maybe I will stay here for a little while, I don't want to have the scratches touching all the germs that there could be on the water" she made a disgusted expression
"A smart decision, maybe your first one ever" Wednesday deadpanned while watching the werewolf haul herself up on the edge and stay seated there
"Yeah, yeah, no one is half as smart as the little princess of death and all that, you have to start getting more creative, roomie" Enid teased and patted beside her while making eye contact with the goth "come on, I don't bite" she smirked
"You don't bite, you can't bite, not even hunt a rabbit, need I remind you of that shared anecdote?" Wednesday didn't back down "But you do hug, and I do have my knifes close enough so don't try anything that could make them appear anywhere on your body" she threatened while sitting on the edge after taking her shoes and socks
"We don't talk about that, deal" Enid accepted the threat and stayed beside her roomate
Both of them spent a few minutes just watching their friends play, Valen and Callum soon joined in the water too and everyone started to play 'Chicken Fight'. Enid felt Wednesday's presence, they weren't close enough to touch but they could feel each other, on the corner of their eyes they could see the other's figure, they sat there just watching and feeling, no talking and no interactions, just presence
But after a few minutes something caught Enid's eyes and she smirked, she made a tiny sound and jumped on her butt down to the water, now being half her body over the surface and gripping Wednesday's legs for balance
"Hey, it's almost nightfall, and I think that in the middle of the lake is the perfect spot to see it, no trees and perfect view of the horizon" Enid explained "get in and we could go see it with everyone else?" she asked
"Enid, while I am thankful that you are inviting me, I refuse to enter the water, you can go see it with the rest of your friends, maybe some other time" Wednesday answered before looking to the sky, while it was true that the sun was almost setting, it was not that soon and that confused her, she turned with furrowed brows to the wolf now a few meters far away on the lake still looking at her with a smirk "Enid, the sun won't set for aproximately 10 minutes, why are you asking me now?"
She watched the wolf smirk and tilt her head before feeling her body being grabbed and holted up, she tried to fight the force but whatever was holding her had enormous strenght, she felt and saw her body being thrown up and how the water became closer and closer until her body was fully surrounded by it, she had been thrown into the water. She swam to the surface and shook the water off her eyes to see Adrian smirking on the edge of the pier before running to the other side and diving into it too, swimming closer to where his pack were playing
The goth huffed annoyed and turned to glare at Enid but didn't find her "Enid?" she turned and searched with her eyes for the wolf, scanning where the groups where to see for a blonde hear popping by without luck "Eni-" she tried to ask again but her foot was pulled down sending her again underwater
Under the surface she opened her eyes and saw a face looking at her, a grin planted on it. Wednesday softly kicked her foot towards the figure's shoulder and tried to free herself but she couldn't. The figure pulled again bringing her even deeper and now they were on eye level, the eyes of the other brightened, literally. Soon in the middle of the blue-ish lake water and shades from the bottom contrasting with the shine from the sun a pair of golden shining eyes appeared
The Raven felt almost hypnotized by them, and her glare and annoyed expression turned to one of admiration without her noticing, she lifted her hand and tried to say something, forgetting she was underwater, so the moment she opened her mouth and tried to talk the oxygen flew out her lungs replaced by a bit of water. She swam upwards after realizing her error, being helped by the figure to haul herself over so she did not drown
Over the surface she came out coughing, and the figure soon followed with giggles echoing
"Gotcha" Enid grinned "I told you, roomie, I don't bite..." the wolf said, swimming closer and holding a hand on Wednesday's shoulder to try and stabilize the still coughing goth "...I can do worse" she teased, after Wednesday gained her breathing right again she answered
"Guess you are learning something useful in this camping trip" Addams commented and she threw water over Enid's face "you won't catch me unfocused again, this was your one and only chance, be glad you managed to use it"
"Will do, roomie. Now come, I really want to see the sunset with all of them, but it wasn't the same if you weren't there too" the wolf pouted and grabbed one of the goth's arms while trying to swim closer to the middle of the lake where all their friends were
"I suppose I already am soaked to the bone again, I can participate, it will give me some chances to drown Adrian too" Wednesday said through gritted teeth while following the wolf after being let go

The moment the sun started to dissapear, they were all huddled together in the water, watching it, some of them talking but everyone's gazes were on the big star hiding under the horizon. Wednesday was next to Enid while all of their friends surrounded them, some of the Nightshades were still playfighting and talking while the Stillwater pack was cuddling each other, tired after so much playing. And the three musketeers were exhausted, just floating near the group looking at the sunset, waiting for it to finish before swimming to land
"So pretty" Someone said, Wednesday didn't catch who it was
"Yes, it's sooooo prettyyyyy" Enid copied, her eyes glued to the horizon, shining with amezement. Wednesday turned and looked around, her friends were looking at the sunset too, some of them looking around but no one really paying attention to another person, she turned to Enid, curious as to why the wolf would think the natural moment that happened every day was so surprising. The moment her eyes locked on Enid's face she couldn't bring her gaze to move anywhere else, the blonde wolf was a little flushed, burnt cheeks that proved her way of putting the sunscreen had been wrong; Wet and messy hair that would have knots everywhere the moment she tried to comb it; Runny nose probably because of the cold that started to seep on all of them because of the breeze drying their wet bodies; And finally, her eyes, shining eyes, glassed through emotions Wednesday couldn't point out, absorbed on the horizon the same way Wednesday had seen her looking at few other things. The goth couldn't stop herself from thinking how beautiful the wolfed looked, and neither could she stop her mouth from opening before thinking
"Pretty indeed" she accepted, not looking away from the wolf's face, searching for expression, for a reaction to something, for a slice of hope that the same look could be directed to her...
She noticed where her thoughts had tried to drift and forced her eyes closed, she shook her head and turned around. Some of the Stillwater pack were looking at her, Callum with a knowing expression and a little smile on his lips, and Shayla with a few teary eyes and a sound that Wednesday associated with adults watching babies "Aww". Ignoring it, and ignoring her own burning cheeks and blaming them to the poor sunscreen brand, she swam closer to the younger three
Eugene laid over Pugsley's shoulders, exhausted "I dont think I can swim to the edge, I lost all my strenght after that last fight"
"It's alright, I will carry you there" Pugsley reassured, grabbing the bee boy's arms and settling him better on his back before swimming away after one last glance to her sister and redhead best friend
Agnes and Wednesday stood there a few seconds just watching them go, before the goth turned to the younger. Agnes was tired too, and it showed with the way her arms weren't fighting the surface anymore, just keeping her body floating and trying to keep her remaining strenght to swim back to land
"Over my back" Wednesday ordered, she turned around for the redhead to grab her, but after a few seconds she turned her head and saw her still and with a shocked look on her face "I will not offer twice. On. My. Back...Now"
Agnes obeyed this time and did her best to get on the goth's back as fast as she could. Once the younger was settled and comfortable, Wednesday swam a little not to the edge's direction, instead, she swam to Enid's. "I am going to get Agnes to the edge, you should do too, I suppose everyone is ready to go back to the camp, don't drown" she told the wolf who smiled at both of the and nodded while doing a military salute

The walk back to the camp began quiet, and stayed like that until halfway through. A gasp jolted everyone focused on to the bee boy "I don't see Pugsley and Agnes, they were just here, they aren't here!" the younger boy yelped while searching with his gaze around
Under the moonlight it was hard to see with human and non-trained eyes, just a few shapes you could differentiate, Wednesday searched too without luck, everyone separated a few meters and some of them yelled the younger's names
"PUGS!" "AGNES!"
Three minutes in, yelling names and trying to stay together and keep the calm, they kept walking, Wednesday tried to reasssure everyone by saying "My brother learned to live in the forest when he was three, and Agnes is competent enough to keep them both alive, there is no need to give yourselves anxiety attacks, they will be fine. We can't allow ourselves to step out of our way just because they got lost, they know where the camp is, they know how to be safe, they will get to the camp whether it's with us or by themselves. I trust them to get there alone, trust them, trust me."
After Wednesday said that it was as if a switch had been activated, the Stillwater pack still looked alert but they all looked at Wednesday and nodded, they were respecting her decision and doing as she asked them, they were trusting her. The Nightshades too, though they took a few more seconds to do it, and lastly Wednesday looked towards Enid who looked calm as ever, as if she never even was nervous to begin with
"What? I know Pugs, I know Agnes, I trust them too" Enid tried to defend herself after she caught the goth looking at her with curious eyes "And i trust our judgement too, if you say not to worry, there is no use in worrying" she shrugged
The group walked a few more minutes, but something catched Wednesday's eyes, it was a knife stuck on a tree, she walked towards it and noticed it was one of Pugsley's, and on the wooden trunk there had been a few simbols scratched onto, it was a warning of her brother
"Pugsley says to be careful, there is something lurking around here, don't go far from the group and if you see something, shout" Enid said, after standing beside Wednesday looking at the tree
They tried to go back and keep walking when a groan made everyone turn to Ajax "Pugs couldn't choose a better way to write his secret code? It smells like something died in here" he complained
Wednesday realized that it was true, the air smelled rotten, and she sniffed a little trying to decipher where the smell came from. The other high sensitive individuals sniffed and walked too, all of them being directed to the same path they needed to take to the camp. They all quieted down, walking carefully now and looking at their surroundings, now the only sound was their footsteps and branched crunching under their feet, a little gasp that sure wasn't meant to be heard but was louder than intended left Divina's mouth, knowing she had everyone's attention on her she pointed, everyone looked and understood the gasp and even copied it
Wednesday made the move to shush everyone and crouch and get all of them to keep quiet and move carefully to round the place and not cross directly, because in the middle of their path there was a deer, a dead deer with its ribcage opened and a bear was eating it. The bear didn't seem like it had heard them so it was better to avoid it, they tried to go around it by both sides, Wednesday and the Nightshades in one side and Enid and the Stillwater pack by the other. But Ajax tripped and his body tilted to the ground, everyone froze and waited for either a yell from Ajax or a bear groan but neither came
They sighed, Ajax sighed too after realizing that he did not yell after tripping, he went to get up, a hand on the floor and the impulse to his feet he looked at his hand on the ground while stablizing his body and found another dead's deer head, he yelled in fear and disgust. Everyone swore under their breaths
The bear lifted its head and it looked at Ajax direction, it caught the sight of the gorgon boy and the ones near him immediately, with a roar it sped towards them. All of them ran while Yoko yelled for the other side to hide while they distracted it. The bear at first followed Yoko but she was too fast, it tried to follow Bianca and Divina but they were running in opposite directions and changing and twisting. Ajax had been tugged to a tree branch by Callum after all of the people of the other side had climbed onto one
But the bear caught another victim, Eugene tried to run but his asthma made it more complicated, he put his hands on his knees while trying to catch his breath. The bear almost caught up to him but he jogged away again, only this time his body didn't have balance because of his lungs low capacity and he swayed until he fell, he crawled backwards while trying to keep an eye to the bear. The bear sprinted towards him and lifted a clawed hand
Eugene shut his eyes, he saw everyone and no one was close enough to save him, he put his arms over his face on instinct and he heard the loud roar as it barreled towards him. His body jolted-...sideways?
He opened his eyes, his whole body rolling on the dirt with another rolling with him, the bear sounding away now, he sat up and saw the shades of a figure next to him. The figure made him stand up and run, and he could hear a fight behind them, he turned and saw the bright eyes of Valen and Adrian luring the bear away from where he and other figures he assumed were the Nightshades were going to the camp
The figure disappeared after he turned around, and now it was Ajax who had been hovering over him asking if he was okay and what happened, but he had no clue, and neither he recognized the figure that saved him, he just followed everyone to the camp. The rest of the way silent with the worry slowly receiding and the calm trying to win the fight against the anxiety of having the bear attack again

"I think i could cry right now" Yoko tried to joke when they were a few meters away from the camp, all of them finally more relaxed and together, they saw the campfire lit up, and jogged towards it wondering if Coach Vlad had lighted it up for them to not be in the dark when returning
They came close enough and realized it wasn't Coach Vlad who had lighted it up
"Hey! Saw the message? The bear?" Pugsley asked and walked towards them after standing up from his seat on a log "Agnes and I are warming up some soup to calm the nerves and-oh..." he stopped talking after being tackled into a hug by Eugene "hi to you too, sorry we separated, I thought I saw something weird, and I was right"
"You stupid, stupid, stupid boy, don't ever do that again, not without warning me at least" Eugene said while hugging tighter and a few tears slipped out of his eyes, making Pugsley panic and look at Enid who he always turned when he needed help with emotional answers
"I think we got it now, Pugs. You can go to the tent with 'Gene and Agnes, I'll call you when dinner is ready, you can have your minutes to talk" Enid helped and patted both boy's shoulders and pushed them towards their tent where Agnes figure showed on the light from a tiny lamp inside the tent
The Stillwater pack had grabbed the first aid kits and put them beside the fire, using the light from it to help themselves see better, Malia and Shayla helping clean and patch Valen's and Adrian's injuries, the Nightshades caught the dinner plan and since they weren't injured, only Yoko who had now a little band-aid that Divina put on her forehead after being almost slashed by claws, they all decided to finish dinner
Enid turned to Wednesday to talk about the goth's brother and Eugene but she caught a sight of red when she saw Wednesday only on one side. She walked closer and called the Raven's name, no response. She grabbed her shoulders but the moment the body of Wednesday turned and the fire light showed her full face, Enid felt herself pale and freeze
"Wednes, what-what happened to you?!" she almost screamed before forcing the goth closer to the fire and signaling Callum to throw her one of the medic kits
"Just a little error in judgement I made when I tried to stop Eugene from getting maimed by a bear, no need to panic, Wolf" Wednesday murmured while being manhandled into a sitting position "Enid, I don't need your hovering, I am fine, a little blood won't kill me"
"No it won't but I might" Enid groaned while grabbing the cotton and disinfectant "Why did you not tell anyone? Why didn't you tell me you were injured?"
"I don't need your worry Enid, I don't need your help"
"You don't need it, but do you want it?" the blonde asked, with a wet cotton hovering over the goth's cheek, waiting for permission to continue
"...I...won't deny you if you want to keep your hovering for the next minutes" Wednesday whispered while looking at Enid's eyes
"Good." Enid replied shortly, now focused on the task at hand

With healed bodies and full bellys, everyone decided to finish the night and go to sleep, the musketeers tent being full after Ajax and Kent went inside it too after eating and soon after the giggles and murmurs from it stopped and a few snores that soon stopped came. Yoko, Divina and Enid went into the tent and soon Bianca walked into it before getting her head out of it and shouting at Wednesday
"Addams, this is your chance to get inside the tent now that we are all awake. Later the tent will be out of limits and you will have to sleep out there" the siren threatened jokingly
"That's alright, the fireflies will be enough company to sleep looking at the stars" Addams deadpanned
Bianca went back inside the tent
The Stillwater pack was still sitting around the fire too, they all were silent a few minutes, just relaxing and reflecting inside their minds. Callum caught Wednesday's gaze and they both held eye contact before Callum huffed and smiled
"The first day we arrived, I told you you haven't changed a thing since Canada. I was wrong, you have, just not in the way we thought" he accepted "I think it's cool to know this side of Wednesday Addams too"
Wednesday grabbed her knees and looked at the sky "Ironic considering I don't know myself, are you implying that you know me better than myself" she tried to deflect
"Wednes" Valen called her, grabbing her attention "Thank you for sharing with us your real self, some of your friends have told us how difficult it was to get you to warm up to them, still is. So...thank you. And the stunt you pulled to save bee boy, that was impressive, you have all my respect, thought you had that already" he smiled at her
She did not answer, didn't feel the need to, and when the pack slowly got up and settled on their tent, Wednesday sat alone on the log, looking at the recently extinguished campfire. She used that time to think, to reflect while watching the smoke go up in the air and hearing the little sparks of the former fire dying
Just how much can happen in a day and why would it affect me?
Enid looked really pretty tonight
I have to make an endurance training for Agnes
And tell Pugsley about asking Eugene about his asthma medication so we can have some just in case
Why can't my head give me a break
I would really like if Enid was here with me

"Addams."

"Barclay."
"Stop drowing in your loneliness and get the fuck inside" Bianca said to her, not even half of her body leaning outside the tent "If you don't get your ass over here now, I will seal the tent shut, you won't be able to get inside it even if you wanted"
"If you seal the tent, it will only make it easier for me to kill you and get rid of the evidence"
"If I seal the tent, it will make it harder for you to sleep beside Enid. Last chance" the siren threatened while leaning onto her knees to haul herself up and move to seal the tent
"Move over." Wednesday walked towards it, crouching and climbing in, she ignored Bianca's smirk and went to her place while the siren finished her own night time routine applying moisturizer on her face and laying beside Yoko and Divina
Enid who Wednesday had assumed was fully asleep, was in reality watching videos on her phone with earphones, and when Wednesday entered the tent, she smiled at the goth and moved to give more space for the Raven to settle comfortably. After she did, Enid turned off her phone and put it under her pillow before settling her hands under her head and just laid there on the dark
They laid there for a while, Wednesday could not answer how much time it had passed just being there next to Enid in complete darkness and without talking before Enid tried to accommodate closer to the goth. Wednesday groaned as loud as she could without bothering the other sleeping girls on the tent, and Enid giggled softly without backing down. After settling much closer, Enid finished the silent torture
"You saved him."
"What?"
"Eugene, you saved him" Enid said as if that explained what she was trying to say, so Wednesday didn't know how to answer
"I did, I do not know why my mind made me do it, but I suppose I did" she tried to reply, hearing a little huff from the wolf
"Because your mind recognizes him as someone you care about, like you and I, like pack" Enid said "sometimes it's easier to think like that, that you on your own, freaky-addams way, you get to choose a pack too"
"Well, if that were the situation, I would have two members on my pack, what kind of...freaky-addams kind of wolf make me?"
"Only two? I beg to differ" Enid said shuffling closer "But that can be a topic for another time"
They got silent again for a few seconds before Enid again talked, now softer, sleepier, as if she didn't want to stop talking but couldn't fight the sleep. A soft, clumsy and sleepy hand came towards her face before Wednesday could stop it
"You always get hurt protecting people, I should just hide you under my bed and keep you to myself" A yawn interrupted her sleepy reasoning "That way...you wouln't hurt...your pretty...pretty face"
The hand touching, caressing her face slumped on her, slipping from her face to the middle of her chest, on her heart, and there it laid while the now asleep werewolf kept Wednesday in place. Wednesday didn't know what to do, so she just laid there, finding it difficult to think, having the only answer on her mind a blank. It didn't take long before her own eyelids felt heavier and the soft snores of the blonde lulled her to sleep

"Shh Yoko you are going to wake them" Divina shushed
"Just one photo please please"
"Just don't let Addams know you took it or else she will kill us all"

And now on the Nightshades groupchat was a new message, a photo with the caption a little shushing emoji and a zipped mouth one, the photo? Wednesday and Enid, both asleep, with the blonde drapped all over the goth who had one arm over her back protectively, one of Enid's hands was under Wednesday, hugging her waist and dragging her closer, and the other rested on the goths belly, right on the edge of the ridden up shirt, making soft petting on the skin unconsciously
