Summary
Will finds himself in the forest within the Upside Down. The sky is dark, and the air is frigid. Vines crawl across the ground. The stench of decay clings to the air around him. Castle Byers waits before him, still standing, yet rotted the way all things are in this realm. Will hears a soft cry from within the fort, the sound of a child’s voice. He pushes aside the curtain at the entrance and peers inside. The figure sitting against the back wall of Castle Byers looks up, and its face is a mirror to Will’s own, just several years younger.
After all, the ghost version of Will Byers never escaped the Upside Down.
