Chapter 1: Saved

Chapter Text

(Felix POV)

"Oh my-" Felix gasps for air, opening his eyes while laying back on the ground, his headset finally disconnecting from his head.

He can feel his heart rate rising, and this isn't a good thing. Panic attacks aren't really fun...

The room around him starts spinning wildly, lights dimming and burning up again. His rate increases rapidly, while his stomach turns inside him, making him nauseous.

He grasps at the ground for stability, almost feeling like he's floating away as the walls are closing in on him.

He's shaking violently, sitting up on his rear before standing up, holding onto the table in front of him nearly before he falls back down again, his knees failing from shaking.

As the minutes pass by, his breathing returns to normal, his legs regain their strength, but still violently shaking.

His breathing hitches here and there, but mostly he's focus on one thing, and into thing only. And that is to, Get. The. Fuck. Out of here.

He forces himself off the table, scrambling towards the door, Ever forgetting his fallen peers behind him. He runs through the hallways, trying to find the exit.

Eventually he finds the door, leaving through the back, before heading off in a direction for which he doesn't know.

"Come on, think Ja-" The realization hits him hard.

"What the fuck is my name..?" He drives his hand deep into his pocket, finding his wallet.

The license reads:
Felix S. Garcia

"Well at least my name is kind of cool..."

He spots some light up ahead. Lucky enough, there's a Vietnamese Restaurant on the block, and he paces towards it, in decision to to go there to dine.

"What day is it..." He pulls out his phone, expecting to see a date...

Nothing. Dead.

"Goddamn this stupid fucking piece of crap-"

"Oh my God! I can cuss now!" He shouts excitedly, earning him a few awkward looks from passersby.

He walks into diner, greeting the front desk.

"Hello. Table for 1, please?"

"Of course sir, follow me." She begins walking to a square table with a single chair, then plops a menu down.

"A waitress will be over with you in one second. Thank you for eating with us." She walks off.

He stares at the menu. Then notices the wall charger next to him. He immediately plugs his phone in.
1%... Then 2%.

He powers his phone on, the winces and becomes visibly sick when he paused to read the date.

It was 2/12/2026...

"No fucking way..." He drops his phone out of his hands then captures his head in both of them again.

"I've been a missing person for... 9 years now. I'm gonna be fucking sick."

He floats his hands off his head back down to his phone again, using fingerprint to turn it on, then checks his messages.

99+ missed messages. Mostly scam calls. But there was a few who real life people texted him.

Tobias:

4/23/2017

Hey, I heard you went missing. That's pretty funny.

11/12/2017

Are you there?

3/29/2018

Hey, Felix. They declared your death today. Still putting hope out there that's you'll text back someday. I'll wait.

--------------------------------------------------

He teared up at that. He thought he had hated him, for running away so long ago. He text back:

"Hey, Tobias. I'm safe now. You don't have to worry "

Sent at 8:33 PM

The response was almost immediately.

Tobias:

.....

Dude. No way. It's you! You have no idea how much I've dreamed of this, for you being here now. I have a whole fucking family now! Oh my God, Felix, you're going to make me cry...

Felix:

Don't sweat it. I'm still catching up. I just got out of that... Place not even 20 minutes ago. Give me a minute.

Tobias didn't reply after that.

He hadn't seen him in so much time. It's almost like he's seeing him for the first time.

Just then, the waitress come over and took his order. See took the menus back then he saw her pass an order slip to the chef.

A few minutes later of waiting, a waitress come out with his meal. He eats like a madman, because well, he hasn't exactly eaten in...
9 years.

So it makes sense.

When he starts to think he's finally had his rest, his head snaps up and he whispers to himself, "Shit, the others are still in that building!"

But then he wonders, because for the time he was there, he didn't see anybody else in the house. He only remembered their empty headsets on the ground. And if you footprints they left behind. They had left already.

"Okay then, I'll just have to find one of them. At least."

He goes to pay his bill, and once he gets his card accepted... Thankfully. He set out again to find something.

He rounded an edge of the street, feeling familiarity wash over him... His old neighborhood.

He waltzed around the corner of a specific house. One which he didn't have no cameras. Then he started to scale the brick wall, occasionally grasping onto an ivy branch.

He got to the window on the top floor and saw the full glory of his old, abandoned house. Luckily it was already payed off fully, and wasn't relocated to somebody else.

He forces the window open with one hand, the other holding him up on the rock wall.

He breathed in deep, surrounding himself and the nostalgic scent.

"I'm really home now, aren't I?" He smile seemingly to nobody.

"I can't believe I'm really out of that fucking Circus!"

He walks around his bedroom reminiscing in the view.
"I can't even remember the last time I've been here..."

He wanders around the house some more before walking back up the stairs to go to sleep. Then he passes out immediately.

(The next day)

He awoke to see his window open, catching a startled breath.

"I almost forgot I left that open."

He walks into the bathroom, curious to see if the shower still worked. Nope. Dry as bone.

He sighs, gets dressed into some more "old-fashioned" clothes, probably only popular back in 2016. But it was really just a hoodie and sweats that were popular around that time.

He spent no time getting out of the house, secretly hoping to himself that he would find at least one of his old circus mates.

The first place he looked would be a bar. Usually people go there to decompress from things, so maybe one of them might be there?

He walks into the bar parking lot, but freezes when he sees a girl, seemingly in her 20's, with a guy who looked more like 50 pinning her to wall by her neck.

He watched in horror as the man's hand covered her neck and mouth with one hand, and his other roaming her body under her dress, in areas she was certainly not comfortable with.

The girl looks up and over towards him, as if saying "help me!"

Before he could process it, he's sprinting full speed at the man, tackling him on the ground and beating him with his fists as hard as he could, until the man had finally passed out.

He turns around, to see the girl huddled in the corner, sobbing some, and shaking violently.

He jogs over to her then crouches down on his knees face to face.
"Oh my God, are you okay?"

She stares at him, breathing heavily. "I'll be fine."

"Do you need somewhere to go?" He asks, just grateful she has been doing better, since that creep had just been knocked out.

"Wait... JAX? I- is that you?" The girls asks, clearly stunned by him, sounding like Jax...

"Pomni? It's me!" He hugs her, shocked by his actions.

"I missed you Jax, but please, can we please just leave?"

"I get it. Come on. Let's get out of here before he wakes back up again."

She clings to him, sobbing uncontrollably. "Thank you. Jax. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You saved me. He would've taken me again."

She sobs harder into his chest, now him holding her back, but standing in the sidewalk is tiring, so she picks her up, holding her in a cradling position.

"Do you want to go to the police?"

"That man, he was the police. I can't go there. Last time they laughed me out. Then when I got back home, he beat me again."

"Pomni, what do you mean by again?"

"He was my boyfriend... But I just tried breaking up with him, again."

"I'm so sorry this is happening to you. Nobody ever deserves this."

She sobs even harder, if possible.

"We're home. I'm just going to set you down."

He opens the door, goes inside, then closes it, and locks it. Then he sets her on the couch with a blanket and some water on a side table.

"Do you want to talk about this, or do you just need some time?"

She doesn't respond, just hugs him, and wraps her hands around him, face in his stomach, still crying hysterically.

"I'm sorry, I'm not good at this, just try to get some rest?"
