Chapter Text
Eclipse sat on the security desk, eyes tired and heavy. But he couldn't charge or rest. Not now. Not while he's so close to finishing this program. Not while Moon is up in the tower, glowering and irritable, trying to fix Sun.
Oh… Sun... how he missed that wonderful smile, the comforting pushes he'd give against his code. It was so sad that he was gone now.
Solar shook his head, perishing that thought quickly. He shouldn't think like that. Moon was gonna fix it, he knew it.
Despite the fact he had to keep checking over his shoulder every couple minutes. Moon was eerily quiet, he hadn't heard a single yell or annoyed grunt in a couple hours, which concerned him greatly.
Was Moon ok? Or was he just waiting for the perfect time to strike him? Moon had the habit of doing that, waiting till he was distracted, striking him. He would always catch him off guard, where he had no hope to protect himself.
It was gruesome and awful every time it happened. And the worst part was that it had been happening more often than not, especially because he had been fighting back more, which Moon blamed that other Moon that had been coming over for help on the satellite thing.
That Moon hadn't met his Moon just yet, but he felt like it was gonna happen soon. The Moon was sweet and nice, shy as well, always making sure he took breaks and charged.
It was… different. A nice change of pace from his Moon's dangerous claws.
He liked that Moon, he wished that had been his Moon instead of the one he had now.
Although, that was a dangerous thought. He should be grateful his Moon hasn't killed him already. He was annoying and a virus, the whole cause for their Suns death, nobody would ever want him as their Eclipse, so he shouldn't be thinking that.
The nice Moon would leave as soon as the satellite was done with its purpose, killing the Eclipse from their dimension.
He had never met that Eclipse, but from how Moon talked about him, he seemed mean and miserable.
Sad.
He would've enjoyed having someone to talk to, someone with similar experiences, being blamed and abandoned. But from how mean they sounded, he knew that would never happen.

While in thought, Eclipse failed to hear the angry footsteps heading towards the daycare.
It wasn’t until a cold, harsh hand was felt on his shoulder that Eclipse realised Moon was behind him. He was too late as by the time he put his hands behind his head to protect all the delicate wires, a wrench was knocked right into the back of his faceplate. All he saw before he blacked out was the reflection of his Moon's cold gaze and a wrench in the now turned off computer.

(New Moon’s Pov)
Moon hummed happily to himself as he set up the portal, getting ready to go to the nice Eclipses dimension. Nice Eclipse, that was something Sun had said would never happen. All Eclipse’s were bitter and mad at everything and everyone. Yet, This Eclipse... This Eclipse was like one he had never seen before (It’s not like he’s seen or met many, but still!). He was kind, yet sassy. He was funny even if he didn’t agree.
Moon hoped he could keep talking to him even after he finished that satellite and killed Eclipse. He felt a pull and feel towards him that no one else had ever managed to cause.
He didn't treat him like he was supposed to be someone he wasn’t.
He sighed as the portal opened. He took a deep breath before jumping into the ball pit.

As he opened his eyes, he heard.. nothing? It was silent, eerily, dreadfully quiet. The type of quiet you'd hear in a horror movie right before something bad happened.
He quickly scrambled out of the ballpit, landing on his face. As soon as he lifted his face, he stared wide eyed at a body. The body of the Nice Eclipse. Covered in oil and practically mangled.
Moon's eyes widened, his mouth gaped open in surprise. What the hell..? Moon got up on shaky legs, resetting his optics to make sure he was seeing that correctly. No. No, no. He can’t be dead. He can’t be Dead. Not dead. No!
Moon shook his head. No. There was still a chance he was alive, just… incredibly injured.
He couldn't be dead, not after all those talks he'd had with him about his self esteem, not after all those days of laughter as they worked on that damned satellite. It just couldn't be.
He just wouldn't believe it.
