The Journey of The Solar Eclipse and the Moon

Chapter 7: Panicking and Solutions (kind of?)

Notes:

This chapter took a bit of time, with my motivation coming in and out of consciousness as well as not knowing how to write conversation, it was definitely some trouble, and even then this chapter is more of a filler chapter? It doesn't have much other than some conversation and thoughts from different characters. I also don't know if I'm writing the characters well or if they are more ooc.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Sun wasn’t mad, so to speak, but he was incredibly concerned for his little brother.

The idiot just had to have brought an Eclipse home.

Now, don’t get him wrong, Sun understood, Moon had said this Eclipse was way nicer than their own, and he also knew this was the Eclipse Lunar had been spending time with a lot before his death. But that only really made Sun more suspicious. The possibility that they, the most unluckiest Sun and Moon ever, managed to find a nice Eclipse, were almost nonexistent.

So, it was either this Eclipse was tricking them, or he was actually nice-ish.

Earth had been the one to knock, the two waiting for Moon, and the “Nice” Eclipse to come out.

Moon was the first one out, looking more sheepish than ever while whispering something to the eclipse, who had yet to leave the room.

.

.

.

“Hey, uh, Eclipse, cmon, you have to speak to them” Moon huffed. Dear god, he hadn’t realized Eclipse would be this shy. He wasn’t normally shy! Awkward, yes, but shy? Moon never thought he’d ever see that.

Eclipse was usually very straightforward and didn’t hesitate much. Well, at the start he kind of did, but after seeing Eclipse handle some random foxy that had managed to make their way into his dimension, plus the fact he never once mentioned his Moon, he knew it had to have something to do with Moons.

Moon had also noticed how Eclipse’s rays never moved, not even a twitch.

But now? They were going haywire, spinning and getting pulled into their housing before popping out in uncoordinated ways. It wasn’t normal for Eclipse to be this nervous about talking to others.

“Uhm, Moon..? Is he gonna come out or…?” He heard Sun's shrill voice call out from behind him, as well as Earth’s curious gaze, trying to peek into the tunnel, although obviously not trying to be rude.

“Yeah, just- wait a second” Moon huffed as he crawled back into the tunnel, deciding the best course of action would be to get that Sun plush again, it seemed to have calmed Solar down last time. So he slipped past Eclipse, making sure to throw a random blanket over the tunnel.

The other two trying to see the Eclipse wouldn’t do anyone well, neither would it help Eclipse calm down.

He found the plush on the bed, Eclipse not far behind him. Kind of like a puppy. He turned around and quickly shoved the toy into Eclipse’s hands, his rays slowly stopped twitching and spinning, watching him squeeze the plush.

“Ok, you ready now?” He asked, seeing as his friend was… kind of ok. Although he felt the other probably needed some more time, as the other still seemed spaced out and slightly panicked, yet not panicked at the same time? If that made any sense. Moon was still trying to figure out this whole emotions thing.

“Clipse?? Hey, you there?” A small nod. Ok, that’s good.

He turned towards the tunnel. “Sun, Earth, could you give us a couple more minutes? We’re having some… technical difficulties” He called out, Hearing a muffled response that seemed to be an ok.

Moon knew about Solars Sun, having managed to get the info out of him while trying to build that satellite. He had ended up with a sobbing Eclipse, strange sight, but at least he knew.

This seemed like it would take a bit. But, Moon would try to figure this out. He had to.

.

.

.

Earth was.. More confused than anything, if she was being honest.

Sun seemed to be panicking, trust issues up the wall. Moon was… well, he was being as understanding as possible to Sun. but he was close to this eclipse, she could tell.

She had been able to catch a peek of the Eclipse, he had been in obvious distress, which meant that he was an anxious fellow. Earth could probably help with that if Sun decided he could stay.

But for now, she could try helping her brother first.

“Sun?” She got a hum from said animatronic. “You.. ok? I know Eclipse has hurt both you and Moon, plus others, and I know it’s probably a little hard thinking of talking to another version of him, even if a nice version.”

Sun nodded slightly, staring blankly at the now covered tunnel.

Earth stayed silent, staring ahead as well.

.

.

.

“Ok, calmed down enough now?” Moon questioned, voice hushed as to not panic the orange bot.

Eclipse shrugged slightly.

He wasn't fine. he was ok, but the thought of having to speak to a Sun was making him wnat to cry.

“What if.. Earth and Sun came in here? Instead of us leaving the room?” Moon asked, trying to find a good solution.

Eclipse looked up, holding the Sun plush tightly before nodding. That sounded having to actuallyleave the comfort of the dark room.

Moon sighed in slight relief, having found a solution. Well, he didn’t know yet, as he wasn't sure how Eclipse would react to Sun.

.

.

.

What if this Eclipse wasn't actually nice? Or maybe he was simply nicer than Eclipse, not nice, just decent? Sun wasn't sure what to think but he'd have to wait and see this Eclipse.

What if he-

Sun was snapped out of his thoughts by Moon poking his head out of the tunnel.

“Heyyy..” He paused awkwardly. “So, technical difficulties are still happening, buuut, you guys should probably enter my room, since Eclipse doesn't seem to want to leave at all.”

Sun blinked, confused.

“H-he doesn't wanna… leave the room?”

“No.”

The two stared at each other in silence.

“Well, then if he's fine with it, we can go ahead!” Earth spoke up, hoping to get past this awkward moment.

“Yea. We should get going.” Sun answered, watching as Moon nodded and went back into the room, Earth going in first before Sun.

This wasn't gonna be an easy talk, was it? Sun still didn't trust this “nice” Eclipse.
