To Become a Higher Power

Summary:

TL'DR: Dracula is still alive during Castlevania Nocturne and thinks Erzsebet Báthory is thinking small for just wanting to cover the sun.
Lil warning: (My first work) and um Dracula is NOT a nice man in this. He is power hungry, insane, and heartless (and he also wants to become THE GOD (Like you know how there's God and Satan..yea)

Notes:

(See the end of the work for notes.)

Chapter 1: Destiny

Chapter Text

In the grand tapestry of existence, God's rise and fall with the ebb and flow of power, faith, and time.
Deities like Zeus ascend to greatness through extraordinary feats, embodying order over chaos, while others like Amaterasu shine as symbols of light and balance.

Yet, just as some rise, others fall from grace; Loki’s deceit leads to his downfall in Norse mythology, and Tlaloc's influence wanes as new beliefs reshape the Aztec spiritual landscape.

This eternal cycle of ascension and decline underscores the dynamic nature of divinity, reflecting the ever-changing interplay of human belief, power, and destiny in the universe.

"Destiny..............

"If you don't mind me asking. What's on your mind, My Lord?"

Vlad paused, the tip of his pencil hovering above the page before gently setting it down. His sketch, half-formed in his notebook, awaited completion as he turned to address the question with a thoughtful gaze. "Nothing worth speaking about." He picks the pencil back up and continues his sketch.

"I'm all ears My Lord" Danica walked up behind his chair, her heels clicking softly on the hardwood floor. She stood there, poised and patient, waiting for her Lord's reply, her presence silent anticipation in the room.

"What do you think the future has in store for me?"

"Worrying about the future? I assure that you are still following your destiny. Nothing has changed."

Vlad rose slowly from his seat, the chair creaking softly as he stood. He walked over to the open window, his gaze drawn upward to the expansive night sky. The darkness was pierced by countless stars, shimmering like distant promises in the velvet expanse above. Vlad stood there, captivated by the celestial beauty, lost in contemplation beneath the canopy of night.

"Oh the sun will be missed, its vibrant glow, the igniting colors and shadows that dance in its celestial embrace. I wonder how long can she keep it hidden with her magic."

Vlad closed the open window with a gentle sigh, turning towards Danica with a disinterested expression. "Not for long, I suppose," he murmured, his voice tinged with resolve. "At least not as long as there's someone out there to stop her." His words carried a detachment that hinted at a lack of concern, his gaze drifting past her as if already moving on to something else.

Danica asked, her voice tinged with amusement, "Will you try to stop her?" Her expression hinted at a playful challenge, curious to see Vlad's reaction to the question, her eyes narrowing slightly as she awaited his response.

"Oh, why would I? It's none of my concern." Vlad responded in an annoyed tone. "I have bigger things to worry about other than some....Delusional woman on a power trip."

Vlad's indifference to others' suffering, whether as a mortal or a vampire, remained steadfast. His lack of concern extended beyond his supernatural condition, reflecting a fundamental aspect of his character that persisted throughout his life. Which made his relationship with Lisa so..... Interesting and unusual. Normally he would not have cared for a human knocking on his doorstep, he would have simply taken their life. Maybe he had ulterior motives or maybe centuries of being alone had gotten to the Count.

Danica's grin widened as she replied, "Well, for one, the favorite flowers of your beloved Lisa need the sun to grow... to bloom. Without the sun, they will wither away, just like she did." She was aware of the audacity of bringing up Lisa in such a context, but Danica felt it necessary to push Vlad further on the matter, hoping to sway his indifference with a poignant reminder.

"Where is your sister?" That question caught Danica off guard, causing her to stumble over her words. "Sh-Shes out on watch My Lord. She will be back soon."

"Good. You may leave for now, I'll talk with you later."
