Chapter Text

Izuku gave up on his dreams the moment All Might left him on that rooftop. Watching his idol disappear as his words echoed in his brain, how even the greatest hero to ever live said he couldn’t be a hero, Izuku felt his world crumble. There wasn’t much left for him now, and gazing down the building’s rooftop, Bakugo’s words also began to clutch onto his mind. The vice grip on his brain emptied his eyes, tears making them shine. His childhood friend turned bully, his Kacchan, had told him to do this. As Izuku went to jump, he heard a door behind him slam open and a lady screamed from behind him. Izuku didn’t even get a chance to turn around before he was pulled over the railings and a lady with a cyclops quirk was in his face.

“What on Earth are you doing, kid?! Why the fuck were you going to jump?!” Izuku bit his lip and looked to the side. The woman noticed the banged up uniform and bruises and scrapes all over Izuku’s face and arms. She sighed and stood up, reaching her hand down, “come on, kid. Let’s get you cleaned up,” Izuku was hesitant, his entire body trembling. But, the lady seemed sincere, and Izuku could honestly use some kindness and sincerity in his life. He gently grabbed her hand as she hoisted him to his feet, leading him inside. She took him to her office, as she seemed to be a manager or director of some kind. She opened one of her desk drawers and pulled out a first aid kit, snagging some disinfectant and bandages.

She gently tilted Izuku’s face upwards, spraying the nasty scrape and cleaning it before gently placing a large band aid onto it. She continued to quietly treat Izuku, being gentle despite having a rough demeanor. She even began humming, making Izuku smile slightly. After she finished wrapping his arms, she began putting all the stuff away. Izuku noticed her name plate.

‘Shizumi Daiko - CEO’

So, whoever Shizumi was, she was a powerful woman.

“Thank you, Shizumi-sama,” Izuku bowed. Shizumi shook her head as she went back over, kneeling in front of him.

“Would you like some water? Tea? Anything?” Izuku seemed to get flustered at that. He instantly shook his head, waving his hands in front of him.

“No, I couldn’t! You clearly have a lot of duties to attend to! I have already been a great nuisance!” Shizumi stood straight, a hand placed on her hip with sas.

“Young man, I am a very well established woman. I know my duties, I know my business, I know my priorities. I wouldn’t invest time in nuisances! Now,” she clapped a hand on his shoulder, “I think some tea with some sugar will perk you up! Then, we can talk!” she waved him to follow, and Izuku did without further question. Shizumi then brought him to a break room, starting up a kettle and taking out a thick paper cup. She then pulled out a drawer, “herbal black, earl gray, or jasmine green?” Izuku held his chin in thought before smiling.

“Green, please,” she smiled and nodded, getting out a container of tea leaves. She also got a tiny spoon, opening the kettle and putting three scoops of leaves in before sealing the kettle and letting the tea steep.

“The kettle has a strainer,” she stated before putting everything back and adding a little bit of sugar to the bottom of the cup, “now, let’s start with your name. You may call me Daiko,” Izuku smiled.

“Izuku Midoriya,” he bowed slightly, “thank you for pulling me back, Daiko-sama,” she smiled and crossed her legs, silently nudging him to speak on the issue, “I just, it’s been a rough day. Is it ok if I talk about it?” she nodded and looked at him with soft eyes, “well, I take data on quirks in these notebooks. They’re my pride and joy, since I don’t have many friends. I’m quirkless, so not a lot of people want to be my friend. My childhood friend is my biggest bully, he always picks on me! But, I can’t burden my mom like that! His mom and my mom are friends! If I told her, it would just get him in trouble which would get me in trouble!”

“I see, does he bully you daily?” Izuku nodded, beginning to cry. Shizumi gave him a tissue.

“He always destroys my data books! Some of my books are from when we were kids, so he’s destroying memories! And today, he told me to pray I have a quirk in my next life and jump off the roof of the building! Then, I was attacked by a villain and was saved by All Might! ALL MIGHT! My IDOL! And when I asked him if I could be a hero, he told me I had to be realistic! And then, he just left me on the roof! I thought-”

“It was a sign?” Shizumi finished. Izuku nodded and sighed, twiddling his fingers. Shizumi noticed the kettle started to whistle, so she got up and got a spoon out of the drawer. She poured a nice cup for Izuku, stirring up the sugar to make the tea sweet. She put a lid on the cup and a cup sleeve, going back over to Izuku and giving him the cup. She gently brushed his hair back, petting him in a soft and endearing way, “I know what it’s like to be bullied too,”

That shocked Izuku. Someone this powerful, this strong, this KIND, was bullied?

“Was it because you have a mutation quirk?” Shizumi nodded, “but that doesn’t make any sense! How could someone like you have been bullied for something you have no control over?!”

“That IS the question, my boy,” she chuckled, “but, as many know, mutation quirks aren’t really sought after unless it serves a purpose. Someone with, say, extra arms or cat-like abilities may be sought after for certain jobs. But, my quirk hinders me more than aids me. My eye can only see so well, I have very bad depth perception and possess no powers like lasers or night vision like others in my family. I was the runt of my family, the black sheep, that everybody, even my own parents, thought had no future,” she looked at her lap sullen. Izuku looked down at his lap, taking a few sips of tea before looking back up.

“So, how did you make it through? How did you get here?” Izuku questioned softly. Shizumi seemed to think for a few seconds before answering his question with one of her own.

“Izuku, do you know what makes someone strong?” Izuku shook his head, “experience. I spent years clawing and scraping in school, sometimes going days without sleep or food. I did my best in school, honed my skills to their fullest, and used all that negativity as motivation to prove everybody wrong. Now, I’m the richest person in my family. Last I checked, my brother was a D-List hero and my sisters are minimum wage workers with multiple baby daddies,” she chuckled, “I cut my parents off when I went to college, but they called me nearly five years after asking for money since all my other siblings were struggling,”

“Did you give them money?” Izuku seemed intrigued with the story.

“I said I would, but with the stipulation I was given an apology. Nobody wanted to apologize, so I blocked my family and moved on. Sometimes, we need to cut the people who hurt us the most out,” she then placed her hand on Izuku’s shoulder, “my best friend, who is the only one I still talk to from my childhood, once told me something. She said ‘your life is like a garden, taking out the weeds helps the true blooms grow’. Weed out your garden, Izuku, so that marvelous blooms can grow in their place,” Izuku gave a serious nod, puffing up his chest and clutching his fist. Shizumi seemed satisfied with the gusto she had instilled in Izuku, so she got up, “finish your tea. I’ll show you out when you’re done,” Shizumi left the break space, leaving Izuku to finish his tea.

After ten minutes, Izuku threw out his cup and went to find Shizumi, but found her on the phone. She seemed angry, her cheeks a brilliant red. After a few minutes of watching her, she angrily hung up the phone, groaning in frustration.

“Daiko-sama, are you alright?” she nodded and sighed.

“Yes, yes I’m fine. My babysitter canceled on me, so I have to work from home this weekend. It’s hard as hell to do that since I have twin toddlers,” she rubbed her head. Izuku looked to the side before returning to look at her.

“I can watch them, if you’d like. Think of it as repayment for the advice and saving my life,” Izuku smiled brightly. Shizumi seemed to beam at his offer.

“Thank you, Izuku! I’ll send a car for you on Saturday morning! I’ll just need your address,” Izuku nodded and wrote it down for her, “perfect! You need to be ready by seven!” She began walking Izuku to the elevator, “Truly a life saver, you are! We’re meeting with some board members and the chairman on Saturday in regards to company policies! It’s got me all riled up, since the chairman never visits the company due to his elderly age,” they got to the elevator and she pushed the down button, “anyway, I’ll be sure to send that car to your address! Thank you for doing this!” The elevator dinged and the doors opened. Izuku stepped in, a smile on his face as she waved at him.

Shizumi had put so much perspective into his life with that single talk, and the two would have more as Izuku began to babysit Shizumi’s daughters. Every day after school, he would pick them up from daycare and get driven to Shizumi’s house. Shizumi helped him get on track, and in a very strange way, Shizumi replaced All Might in Izuku’s head. Shizumi looked at his notebooks and praised his intellect, Shizumi encouraged him to go to UA as a member of the support course, Shizumi helped him with certain course work, and Shizumi offered him morale when he was low. When Izuku graduated UA from the support course, top of his class, she had been there to congratulate him. That’s when the hero course kids came around and everybody swarmed them. Izuku seemed to keep his distance, especially since All Might rolled on the scene at about the same time. Shizumi saw how Izuku’s eyes seemed to dull, despite it being such a happy occasion. His mother didn’t really seem to notice, but she did notice somebody in the crowd.

“Mitsuki!” Inko called, waving her arm. A blonde woman who was next to a strapping bulk of muscle looked her way.

“Inko!” The boy now also looked, seeming to have some form of disgust on his features. Inko grabbed Izuku’s arms and dragged him towards the two blondes. Shizumi followed behind, arms crossed and eye squinting, “it has been forever! Did little Izu go to UA too! Katsuki, how come you never told me Izuku went here too!” the boy sneered and looked away, “Katsuki! Show some respect!”

“Tch, whatever old hag,” he looked towards Izuku, “I never knew he went here, either. We stopped talking in middle school,” he tilted his head and smirked, “what did you do here, nerd?” Izuku stammered, making Katsuki’s smile turn to a snarl, “geez, still a damn Deku, aren’t you?” Just as Mitsuki was about to scold him, Shizumi marched up and slapped him across the face. It stunned everybody in a five yard radius, a small woman nearly half his size, pimp slapping one of the war heroes of UA.

“I assume you must be Kacchan, the so called ‘childhood friend’ from dear Izuku’s past,” the young blonde was still stunned from being slapped, “tell me, little boy, in what world do you tell someone, who looks to you as a friend, to kill themself?” Katsuki’s eyes widened and he turned to face Shizumi. At that point, both All Might and Aizawa came over.

“Ma’am, I ask that you not slap one of my star students,” All Might said sternly. Shizumi’s gaze pierced All Might’s soul and she whipped around and back handed him.

“And YOU! What number one hero leaves a middle school boy on a rooftop after shattering his dreams? How could you leave a victim of a villain attack without proper medical attention? And most importantly, how DARE you call this overgrown BULLY a star student!” she pointed at Katsuki, “that boy told my protege to kill himself, to pray for a quirk in his next life and jump off a rooftop,” she then poked All Might’s chest, “past or not, that behavior is not heroic,” she turned around and took Izuku by the hand, tugging him towards her and away from Inko and Katsuki. She then looked at Bakugo with a firm snarl, “you can scratch and claw your way to the number one spot, but you will NEVER be a hero in the eyes of those who know who you TRULY are,” she guided Izuku away from the group, a calm hand on his shoulder.

Once far enough away, Shizumi managed to finally calm down. She looked at Izuku, who also seemed to be in a serene headspace. Nobody, not even his own MOTHER, had defended his honor like that. Nobody had ever told off Bakugo, never told off All Might, never confronted them of their wrong doings. Others in the support course knew of Izuku’s history with the two since Izuku, despite being the best in the support course, refused to work with Class A. They still would help the heroes of tomorrow, with a little tinkering from Izuku to aid their own designs and ideas. He did overhear how a lot of his peers actually acted pretty hostile to Bakugo, but changed their tune post war. Hatsumi was the only one who acted the same, which was tinkering with zero regards to begin with. Izuku felt like years of torture were instantly erased when Shizumi stood up for him, going as far as to smack the former number one hero and his bully in the face. It was a small victory with major satisfaction, but Izuku would treasure it as if it were gold.

When Shizumi and Izuku got to the parking lot, he automatically went for Shizumi’s car. He was going to be babysitting the twins again since his mother had to work that night and Shizumi wanted to get a few extra files sorted before the weekend. He buckled up and waited for Shizumi to get settled, looking out the window as more people crowded the area and flashes of cameras were set off. Shizumi got into the car and started it up, the engine roaring to life. Izuku had hoped to see his mom at least try to come after him, but their relationship had been a bit rocky since Izuku started UA. His mother didn’t know why Izuku distanced himself once starting high school, and Izuku didn’t do it intentionally. But between the rigorous coursework, working under Shizumi as both an intern and a babysitter, and overall growing into his own, the two drifted. Izuku had hoped that now that his mother had known the truth, she would come after him. But, she remained in the crowd. He could faintly see her and Mistuki talking, clearly annoyed. Izuku felt his stomach churn, even after knowing the truth, his own mother refused to acknowledge his own pain.

Then, Shizumi’s words came back to him, “weed out your garden”. Izuku was now an adult, a well-mannered, intelligent, resourceful adult with a kind heart and creative mind. His support items were second to none, and with his new job starting at Shizumi’s company as head of the design department for support items, he would make a name for himself. The prior one had retired a few weeks prior and she immediately gave the new position to Izuku. Most of the fellow designers and mechanics agreed that Izuku fit perfectly, he had been a frequent visitor to the company and most people knew his face and his genius.

So, pulling out his last few weeds from his garden, Midoriya looked to the
future.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Midoriya’s genius only grew, cultivating a new generation of support items. By the time Midoriya was twenty, he had grown into the most sought after support engineer in the country. At the ripe age of twenty-two, he trained a new head of designs department and began his own support gear company. He would take orders all over the globe, traveling vastly for those willing to pay for his advanced and well-crafted items. And because his hero support gear was in high demand, there was a waitlist three meters long and an average wait of seven months for an appointment.
Entire agencies would book him to do work for their heroes and sidekicks, he was offered to give one off seminars all over America’s top engineering universities, met royalty and presidents alike. Midoriya was truly living the life any man in his twenties could dream. He was well accomplished, well respected, and well beloved. He had been awarded many awards for his breakthrough gear and had started two ViewTube channels: one a blog where he updated on his life and an educational one about engineering and support gear. Both of his channels blew up, and Midoriya found himself with more wealth than any of his former classmates could dream. He didn’t even think heroes could be this rich.
Time quite literally flew for Midoriya, with the eve of his thirtieth birthday right around the corner. Looking back, Midoriya reflected how the past decade had treated him, both mentally, emotionally, financially, and physically.
Mentally, Midoriya was great. Most of his mental stress stemmed from lack of support, be-it from others or himself. But, with the confidence boost he received after cutting off his mom and finally ridding himself of her overbearing need to remain friends with Mitsuki, he found his life became much easier. His mother made that choice, she selfishly chose Mitsuki even after finding out the truth. It was Midoriya’s turn to be selfish, and he didn’t regret a thing. Emotionally, he was also doing well! He had created long lasting friendships at UA, took on the role model status of MANY young engineers, even inspired a few kids. He still kept in touch with Shizumi, who he found to be a phenomenal motherly figure for him. Well, she kind of was, since he disowned his own mother. Obviously, his finances were well fed.
And physically? Wow, Midoriya really hadn’t taken the time to see how much he grew into himself until just then. Sipping some iced water, looking out over the cityline, freshly showered in his penthouse apartment, Midoriya could see why he was the apple of so many’s eyes. His undercut made him look mature and manly, while his build had greatly increased. He was muscular, had scars from gear malfunctions, a broad chest, waterboard abs, toned arms and thick legs. He didn’t want to toot his own horn, but DAMN did he look hot.
Right as he finally realized his hotness, Shizumi called him, effectively startling him out of his confidence talk. He immediately accepted the call, smiling brightly.
“Hello, mother,” he had started calling her ‘mother’ as a joke, but she never stopped him, so he never stopped.
“Hello, Izuku. I heard you were finally back in the country,” she was clearly getting ready for bed, Midoriya could hear her pouring wine, and she always had a glass before bed.
“Yeah, got back this morning,” Midoriya stretched as he watched as it began to rain.
“How was America?” he brightened up.
“It was beautiful! Did you know Colorado was so gorgeous! I mean, the air was so clean and the mountains looked amazing during sunset! I’m thinking of buying a vacation house there, maybe do some skiing whenever I get a break!” Midoriya jested, but noticed Shizumi didn’t laugh, “mom?”
“Izuku, you’ve passed your prime. I know you’re still young, and I haven’t said anything since I didn’t want to be that old croon. But, haven’t you given any thought to actually slowing down? Maybe try to find somebody, have a family,” Midoriya quirked his brow.
“Where is this talk coming from?” Midoriya sat on his couch.
“Well, Izuku, I’ll be honest with you. I’m sick,” he instantly stood back up and went to go to his bedroom.
“WHAT?! WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME SOONER?!” Izuku ran into his closet door, making him reel back, “crap!” he held his eye, “hold on, I’m coming over,”
“Izuku, there’s no need,”
“Like HELL there’s no need, just give me fifteen minutes!” he hung up the phone and threw on a random t-shirt and pants, hopping his shoes on while simultaneously throwing his coat over his shoulder. He bolted from the elevator the moment it dinged and ran to his car, unlocking it and speeding out. When he arrived at the small town house on the outskirts, he saw Niko and Rumi, Shizumi’s twin girls, reading in the window seat. They immediately perked up once they saw him, jumping from the bay window and running to the front door to greet him. Midoriya gave them brief pats on the head, speaking to them sweetly, before Shizumi appeared from the hall. She looked worse for wear, definitely not like herself.
“Girls, why don’t you go in your room? I have to talk with mom,” the girls seemed to pick up on the atmosphere and ran to their room. Midoriya and Shizumi stood quietly for a moment, before Shizumi gestured to the small table in the dining area.
“I’ve got tea on, sit down while I get you some,” Midoriya tried to cut in, but she gave him the look, the look she gave all her children that said ‘listen or I’ll whack you’. Midoriya sat down in his normal chair, noticing how one of the girl’s had carved his name into the spot. He smiled fondly at it, brushing it with his fingers as Shizumi set down the tea.
“Thank you, mom,” Midoriya said softly. Shizumi then sat down with her own cup, sighing as she took a sip. It was silent for a few more minutes, the weight of the talk ahead looming over the two, “so, sick?” Shizumi nodded.
“Cancer,” Midoriya winced at the word.
“How long?”
“How long have I known or how long do I have left?” Midoriya twiddled his fingers.
“Both,” Shizumi smacked her lips, straightening out.
“Well, I always knew I had a higher chance. I was diagnosed last month and the doctor says it’s terminal,” Midoriya gulped, “I only have a few months. Doctor predicts no more than three,” Midoriya sniffed at that, feeling tears begin to form, “You will get everything, my house and assets are all yours. This, however, is under the stipulation you get custody of the girls,”
“Custody?”
“Yes, my husband signed away his parental rights. I will have nobody to take the girls, they’ll go into the system if you don’t take them,” Shizumi looked down, “I know this is a lot to ask, but I really want the girls to be in your care. You’re kind, funny, well-mannered, smart, and open-minded,”
“You really think I can handle that? Being a dad,” Midoriya questioned.
“I do,” Shizumi sipped her tea, “I already trained the next CEO, handed him the ropes and had an early retirement. I want to spend my last months with my children,”
“Is there anything else I need to know?” Midoriya gripped his knees, slowly accepting this new responsibility thrusted onto him. Shizumi mentored him, gave him support, helped him start his path, and had been a constant source of wisdom and joy throughout it all. This was the least he could do for her.
“The girls have a trust that they will get access to when they are of age. They could use it towards college, to buy a house, whatever they want. But, I should hope with you raising them, they’ll be a lot smarter than that,”
“They’re fourteen, mom, you did most of the raising,” Shizumi chuckled at the sentiment before getting serious again.
“I also recorded videos for them, labeled accordingly on a hard drive you’ll recieve once I have passed,” Shizumi gently took Midoriya’s hand, giving him a gentle pat, “these things happen in life Izuku, so please, don’t focus on what’s to come. Focus on now, the time I have left,” Midoriya gave a watery smile and nodded, hugging Shizumi tightly.
The two talked for a brief moment before Midoriya left the home, wishing for a miracle.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The following week, Izuku turned thirty. He celebrated at a bar with a few of his old classmates, Hastume not having changed a bit since UA. She was talking his ear off about this new project she was working on when a pretty blonde caught Midoriya’s eye. Hatsume noticed Midoriya’s shift in attention and looked, smiling.

“Oh! That’s one of my projects now! ELECTRIC GUY!!!” she shouted across the bar. Midoriya watched as the blonde turned around, and the green haired man would have melted on sight. Never in his life had Izuku Midoriya thought someone was attractive to THAT degree, but holy fuck did he just fall in love. The blonde man was lean and toned, a sharp jaw and almond eyes. His hair and eyes were this bright yellow, with a black bolt on one of his bangs. His hair went down his back, nearly touching his buttocks. He was dressed in a plain white cropped tank, black jeans, and a black choker. He smiled upon seeing Hatsume, and Midoriya didn’t think his face could get any shade darker. But, low and behold, he did. The blonde ran over, his smile continuous.

“Hey, Hatsume!” the blonde squealed, “who’s the hottie with the curls?” He flirted towards Midoriya. Feeling himself after a few drinks, Midoriya decided to flirt back.

“Izuku, but, you can call me anything~” Denki went red, not expecting to be flirted back with. Denki bit his lip as his cheeks got red instantly.

“Holy shit, your voice is hot,” he said with zero filter. Midoriya laughed at that, “your laugh is even hot,” he leaned dramatically on Hatsume, “how could you, Hatsume! Such a hunk and not a single pic for me! The audacity!” Hatsume chuckled.

“Midoriya just got back in the country, he was abroad working with some American heroes for their support gear,” Denki immediately shot up.

“Midoriya?! As in the best support gear engineer in the world, Midoriya!” Denki flapped his hands, “holy crap! I’ve dreamed of working with you! But, my agency doesn’t have the budget! I’m basically Hatsume’s charity project slash lab rat,” he rolled his eyes.

“You would’ve been in a better agency if you and the earphone girl didn’t have a falling out. The whole class is split because of that scandal,” Midoriya tilted his head, “oh, Denki knocked up his ex,” Denki nodded, rubbing the back of his head.

“Yeah, but she's the one who lied to me! I was basically innocent!” he looked at Midoriya, “my ex and I were doing adult shit, and she lied about being on birth control. I told her I would take the kid and she’d be free to do whatever, and so she signed our little Katori away at birth and went to be a lesbian with one of our former classmates,” he stuck his hands out, “not that I’m against lesbians, I mean, I’m bi so like, I can’t judge. But, she basically framed herself as the victim since I was forcing her to keep the baby. But, I held true to my word. I haven’t asked her for a single yen for our daughter! Yet, people still think I’m the bad guy! My reputation plummeted! I went from number eight hero to number sixty in two weeks! And since my agency was run by our mutual friend, he booted me from the agency! So now, I’m stuck above the fifty rank spot and at some c-rank agency!” he then stuck his arms out, “like, I wore a condom! What else was I meant to do?!” he groaned and gave a weak smile, “sorry about that, I just get super heated when I remember how she screwed me over,” Midoriya puffed out his cheeks.

“That sounds completely unfair! She ruined your life and reputation!” Midoriya truly hated injustice, “you should’ve sued,”

“Tried, but nobody took my side. The only friends I still have from the hero course are Shinso, Monoma, and Sero. Even then, they won’t invite me out like before. They’re ashamed to be seen with me, so anytime we hang out, it’s at somebody’s house. It’s always awkward too. I’m glad I have Katori tho, she makes me feel less lonely,” Midoriya sighed, at least Denki didn’t seem too down about it.

“I’m due to ‘inherit’ some kids,” Midoriya revealed, “my mom is about to pass away, and she has twin girls. She told me I should look into settling down so this way I could be their caretaker,” Denki and Hatsume frowned, Denki putting a comforting hand on Midoriya’s shoulder and a soft smile on his face.

“I’m sorry, but you should treasure her time now. Life is like a garden, you have to tend it as such. You have to weed out the bad people and cherish every bloom before it withers away,” Midoriya’s eyes widened and a breathy giggle left his lips.

“Ya know, my mom gave me very similar advice when I was in middle school,” Denki blushed as Midoriya looked at him with half-lidded eyes. Denki hadn’t drank a sip of alcohol, but seeing Midoriya look at him that way made him all sorts of love drunk. Denki sheepishly looked away, putting his hair behind his ears, when his watch beeped.

“Oh! I have to get back home! I only have the babysitter until ten!” he dug through his pockets and gave Midoriya his phone, “call me?” Midoriya chuckled and gave Denki his own phone. The two exchanged numbers and Denki whisked himself away with a wink, getting swallowed by the oncoming crowd.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next week, Izuku settled into his new office. It was on the top floor of the building, his main headquarters for the last five years. He hadn’t given himself an office since he was constantly moving around. But, he had hired some skilled staff, and now that he was in house, could manufacture support gear and supplies even quicker. The building was in the city center, with his logo on the side (a green rabbit). Working in house was a lot easier, Midoriya found himself working less and spending more time with Shizumi and the girls. He was also set to go on his first date with Denki, so, clad in white pants and a black button down, Midoriya knocked on Denki’s apartment door.
A little girl with violet hair and yellow lightning bolt opened the door. She had Denki’s eyes, and a cute button nose. She turned around, seemingly looking up at someone.
“Papa! The hot man you keep gushing about is at the door!” Midoriya bursted into laughter as he heard Denki scramble to open the door.
“Katori! What did we say about opening the door!” Denki came into view, wearing a navy button down and white pants. His hair was also done in a dutch braid, with his bangs staying out, “oh my Gosh, I am so sorry, Midoriya!” Midoriya simply snorted in his laughter and waved it off.
“Please don’t be, that was the highlight of my week!” Midoriya then revealed two bouquets, “this one,” he gestured to the large bouquet filled with sunflowers, “is for you, my dear. And this one,” he gestured to the tiny one of white roses, “is for you,” he handed them to Katori. The little girl lit up when Midoriya handed her the roses, while Denki was simply speechless. Katori hugged Midoriya, jumping for joy.
“I want this one Papa! I want him to be my Daddy! He’s perfect!” Denki went even redder while Midoriya was now left speechless. Denki coughed, fixing his hair and steadying his posture.
“The babysitter should be here in, like, a few minutes. Why don’t you come in so I can get these settled in a vase,” Midoriya nodded and held Katori’s hand as he walked in. Denki got Katori’s bouquet and took it from the wrapping, putting it in a small purple vase. He then began looking for another vase, and noticed one on the top shelf. Normally, Denki would have to hop onto the counter, but this time, Midoriya came in and got it for him. Filling it with water for Denki and placing it on the table. The two brushed hands, immediately making the two blush. Denki placed the flowers in the vase, looking down at them lovingly. That’s when another knock echoed.
“I’ll-” Katori began but Denki turned and put his hands on his hips.
“Sit nicely while I get the door,” he gave a sweet smile to Midoriya while Katori pouted and crossed her arms. Midoriya chuckled and sat next to her, giving her a gentle pat on the head.
“You’ll get big enough to see through the peephole eventually. Then you can open the door,” Katori perked up at that.
“I’m going to get so tall, you’ll see!”
“Good luck with that kiddo, considering your dad’s as short as a stack of pancakes,” Midoriya knew that voice. He looked up and saw Rumi, her hair in a messy bun and her out of her school uniform, “Izu-nee?” she looked between Midoriya and Denki, smiling like the Cheshire cat, “I see~” she teased. She covered Katori’s ears and smirked, “get some, Izu. I’ll stay late, no extra charge,” she winked. Midoriya and Denki both went beet red as they scrambled to get their things and leave. As they were down the hall, they spared one final glance at the door, where Rumi was giving them a smirk and a thumbs up before shutting the door.
At the restaurant, the two were seated in the corner. Denki had been placed facing the door, while Midoriya just faced the back wall. The place was quiet and fancy, Denki had never been to such a fancy place before. But, Midoriya wanted to spoil Denki for one night. While the two were looking at the menu, Midoriya noticed Denki’s hand just laying on the table. He gently put his hand on top of it, closing his hand around Denki’s. He then lifted Denki’s hand and kissed it, making the blonde blush and kiss his hand back.
It was the best date either of them had ever been on.
One month turned into two, then three, then four. It’s the fourth month that’s the hardest. In the span of those four months: Denki and Katori are evicted, they move in with Midoriya, Midoriya buys a nice town house and moved them there, Rumi and Niko move in with them along with Shizumi, Denki and Katori get accepted as Shizumi’s future son-in-law and grandbaby, Denki changes professions and instead works at Katori’s daycare with only doing hero work on the side (or as hero society calls it ‘backup duty’), the couple has their first fight since Midoriya wanted to have Denki work with him, they make up not even two hours later crying and embracing, they get a dog named Bumi, and Shizumi’s passes away. Midoriya is a wreck, but Denki holds him together the best that he can. Rumi and Niko are also a wreck, but Bumi and Katori give them all the cuddles they could ask for. The family is still together at the end of it, slightly broken at the loss, but nothing they couldn’t fix together.
Month five is when Denki and Midoriya have their second fight. It’s about an invitation Denki got in the mail about a hero course reunion. Denki wants to go, just so he can see Sero, Monoma, and Shinso. Midoriya thinks he shouldn’t because those three could’ve hung out any time, they hadn’t called or texted Denki in months. The ‘friends’ made no effort, so Midoriya doesn’t see the point of him going. Denki and him fight brutally, all verbal thankfully, but it does scare the kids when Denki leaves to go for a walk and doesn’t come back for a while. Midoriya realizes his mistake when Denki’s phone rings in the next room over, he’s panicked and can’t sleep. He stayed in the living room until 2 AM, when Denki finally came back in. Midoriya shoots up and hugs him, crying and apologizing. Denki does the same, the two reconciling almost immediately. They realize that neither of them are good at regulating their emotions, so they each start therapy. They also broach the idea with the girls, who each agree to go. Rumi and Niko also go to therapy individually.
Midoriya decides to accompany Denki to the reunion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As Midoriya gets ready for the reunion, he can’t help but realize who will be there. Bakugo will be there, and his stomach twists. But, Denki will also be there, and suddenly nothing matters. Because in the end, Denki is the only one of those people who will matter to him. Midoriya is dressed in one of his finest suits, with one of his most expensive watches on his wrist. Denki is in one of the nicest turtlenecks he has, black and flattering, with black slacks and a mustard yellow scarf. Denki’s hair is in a low ponytail and his nails are painted black. Midoriya helps Denki put in his black pearl studs, the same earrings that would cost him anybody in that room their monthly pay, but not Midoriya, no this purchase was pocket change. Midoriya encourages Denki to wear his glasses, and despite his nervousness, listens. Denki doesn’t realize how nice he looks until Katori, Rumi, and Niko tell him he looks hot. They say the same to Midoriya, giving the girls money for pizza or takeout and giving them each a warning of not staying up too late. Denki gives each one of the girls a kiss on their heads before shutting the door.

“You think they’ll kick me out?” Denki worries. Midoriya holds his hand and smiles.

“If they do, we can go out somewhere nice and forget about them,” Midoriya then gently kissed Denki’s hand. Denki giggled and returned the sentiment, the rest of the car ride was silent. When the two get to the manor in which the reunion is being held, Midoriya lets Denki out so he can find a parking spot. Denki is fine walking in by himself, despite Midoriya saying he’ll just be a minute and making sure he’s ok. Denki nods, he’s nervous, but Midoriya would be inside the hall in not even ten minutes. He can handle being alone for ten minutes. Denki walks into the hall, looking for the correct door, and takes a deep breath when he finally spots it. He takes one more before entering the door, and immediately he could feel the mood shift in the room around him. Everybody is looking at him, it would seem he was the last to arrive. He walked over to the drink table, ignoring the whispers and looks he’s receiving. He begins to make two drinks when Sero walks up to him, seeming nervous.

“Hey, Denks,” he says cautiously. Denki spares him a glance and a small smile.

“Hey, Hanta,” Sero noticed immediately that Denki is making two drinks.

“Bring a friend? Didn’t think you had any other ones,” Sero tried to joke. Denki rolled his eyes and nodded.

“Oh, you mean you’re surprised someone would be willing to talk to me other than to ask for a designated driver or to be the fourth player for game night since everyone else said ‘no’,” Denki giggles and noticed how Sero pales at being called out, “yeah, I do. He’s a really great guy, bought me and MY daughter a bouquet for our first date,” he made sure to stress the ‘my’. Shizumi had said that if Jiro wanted to disown Katori, she would disown the title of mother along with it, “he’s just parking his car,” mumbled conversation increased after that. Denki picked up the drinks and began to head for an empty table, placing both cups down and taking a seat elegantly. That’s when Jiro approached the table with Momo and the rest of the Bakusquad by her side.

“What was that, huh? Whatcha talking about YOUR daughter?” Bakugo seethed. Denki smiled up at Bakugo and the rest of the group.

“Wow, what a warm welcome! Thank you Bakugo! Yes, I said MY daughter. You see, a wise lady told me that if somebody wishes to legally sign away their rights to their child, they ALSO sign away the title that goes with it. You should be happy Jiro! You don’t need to worry a bit! My man is a great dad, already accepted Katori as his own and everything. He spoils her rotten,” Jiro deflates and Mina snarls.

“That’s uncalled for, Kaminari,” Kirishima says as he holds Mina back.

“I don’t think so, I lost my reputation because Jiro lied to me. I lost my friends, I lost my job, I lost fans, I lost my rank, I lost my own self respect! I wore a condom, I didn’t want a baby! But, I owned up to my part, you abandoned yours! You can’t be a victim and a mother, Jiro! You decided your part in Katori’s life when you signed those papers! And ALL of you,” he pointed to the rest of the group, “will NOT sit here and lecture me about Jiro’s feelings! Just because I have a fucking penis doesn’t invalidate the fact I have feelings too! None of you stayed by my side, you all took hers despite ME being the victim! I was lied to, I lost everything! But you know what I gained from the whole situation,” he stood up, “I got a beautiful daughter out of it, my entire world revolves around Katori and my new family! I came here because I wanted to reconnect, I wanted to see if ANYBODY would have the decency to try to hear my side! But, I’m clearly mistaken! You’re all still vainglorious, petulant, feckless, malevolent assholes who are too stuck up their own asses to even try to understand what your actions have done! If you’re truly the best heroes this society has, we’re fucked!”

“Well said, my love,” Midoriya stated, clapping as he approached Denki. He put his hand on Denki’s waist, giving a stern glare to the group, “well, well, still the same old bully, huh Kacchan?” Midoriya tilted his head, “guess you really are ugly inside and out,” he chortled.

“Oh come on, Izuku! That’s not nice!” Denki smiled. Midoriya shrugged and waved him off.

“Also, I do NOT spoil Kat!” Denki pouted.

“You do too! You got her that 300,000 yen life size playhouse for the backyard!” Denki poked Midoriya’s chest, “this was after the brunch at Yoko’s Chibi Star Cafe! AND the tickets to Colorado!”

“Come on, don’t be stingy! You know you get so excited when you get to help pick out materials for the Colorado mansion~” Denki rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. Midoriya chuckled and hugged him from behind.

“Not the point, Izuku,” they both chuckled as Midoriya gave Denki a brief kiss on the neck. They duo would’ve completely forgotten they weren’t alone if it wasn’t for Jiro running off in tears. Momo and Mina chased after her, while Denki sighed and rolled his eyes, “drama queen~” he sang, getting all the attention on him, “she made her choice, she can cry all she wants. It doesn’t change anything,” he smiles at the group, “you all know the truth now. So, I don’t really see a point in continuing this. I mean, you all ain’t gonna be forgiven, even if you grovel on your pathetic knees. You all made a choice back then too,” Denki felt Midoriya squeeze him, so he looked at the taller man.

“Lightning bug,” he looked down at Denki, “do you want to leave? I don’t mind, I made reservations at that nice Italian place in Musutafu,” Denki’s eyes sparkled.

“Regina’s!” he cheered, “Hell yeah! He jumped up and kissed Midoriya, the freckled men laughing into the kiss. Midoriya handed Denki the keys to a Rolls-Royce.

“Go start the car, I’ll be there in a second,” he gave Denki one last kiss before the blonde scampered off. Midoriya watched his leave with a love drunk smile on his face. When Denki was out of view, Midoriya turned back to Bakugo and the rest of the heroes, “I hope you’re all proud of yourselves,”

“Deku, you little-” Bakugo went to punch Midoriya in the face, but Midoriya dodged it, grabbing Bakugo’s arm and hauling the sandy blonde over his shoulder. He held him down by the neck, his eyes piercing and cold as red hot iris’ tried to look back at him.

“I am NOT Deku! Not anymore! You bullied Deku! You told Deku to die! You told Deku to pray for a quirk in his next life and jump off the roof! I am NOT Deku! I am not the helpless, scrawny, child you bullied! Deku died the day of my graduating UA, when I cut contact with my mom because she REFUSED to acknowledge what an asshole you were and still wanted to be friends with your mom! I am Izuku Midoriya, self-made billionaire and a support gear genius! My gear has saved more people in the last year than you have in your entire career!” he let go of Bakugo’s neck, “I’m not afraid of you anymore Bakugo, and Denki isn’t either,” he pointed out towards the crowd, “he isn’t afraid of any of you! And if I find out you hurt him again, I will drag your names so deep into the mud that it will take a decade to scrub the dirt from your name! Do you understand me?!” mostly everyone gave curt nods, but that didn’t satisfy Midoriya, “I said DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!” everybody but Bakugo shouted yes. Midoriya’s gaze went to Bakugo, “and, you, Bakugo Katsuki?” Bakugo tried to hold his gaze, but backed down when it was made clear Midoriya wouldn’t relent.

“Yes, Midoriya,” Midoriya smiled at that and clapped his hands together.

“Wonderful! Now, I’m going to go on a fabulous date with the love of my fucking life, and then go home to my beautiful mansion with our three kids, where we will proceed to have the most passionate sex we’ve ever had! Hope you assholes have a great night!” Midoriya waved to everyone as he left the hall. Once he got to the car, he instantly enraptured Denki’s lips into a passionate kiss.

It was indeed the most passionate sex the two had ever done.
