Luke's unexpected visit

Summary:

While on a mission to receive supplies for Eefa’s potions, Luke and Resus end up in the human world, unprepared and without help.

With nowhere else to go, Luke decided to go to an old friends house.

The only problem?

They have no idea about the supernatural, nor Luke’s ‘condition’.

Notes:

I wrote this because ive been obsessed with the show and can't find anything so I decided to write my own.

Theres no ships as they're like 13-15 and im not bothered to write with romance.

May be blood but resus is a vampire so-

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

"Do I really have to wear this Luke?" The young vampire asks, messing with the ripped jeans and black hoodie he's been forced to wear. Luke pats his back in a false comfort, smiling sheepishly. "Im sorry Resus, but you really need to give off this 'emo' vibe, or else he'll question your..." The werewolf gestures vaguely at Resus's entire complexion, not being very subtle about the Vampire's pale skin.

Resus, rather begrudgingly nods, before sighing, "and why are we going to a normal for help?" He asks, a hint of concern on his face, "we could be found out!"

And for whatever reason, Luke just grins before grabbing his hand. Maybe in some mock way of calming his best friend down.

"Calm your fangs, you'll be fine!" He assures him, "It should go smoothly."

Luke looks about at the roads he once knew like the back of his hand, "now we need to make sure you don't show those pearly whites too much, yeah?" He says, gesturing to Resus' very visible fangs, "but if they do happen to see, maybe just say... they got stuck after... cosplaying! Sure, it may be a little embarrassing, but that's better than ending up staked."

The vampire just tilts his head in a very confused manner, "what's cosplaying?"

Luke laughs, "doesn't matter mate." And he pulls him towards the flat at the end of the street, "better get this overwith sooner rather than later, right Resus?" In which the vampire hesitantly nods, not being able to form words, just following behind him.

Resus looks around in a mix of awe and horror, the normal world being far brighter than scream street. Every walk way lit up with lampshades, colours dotted about in every direction; the greens of the trees, the red of the brick, even the multi-coloured crayon drawings on the pavement. He holds back the urge to cover his eyes, as he hastily makes his way to his friend's side, not wanting to be alone in such an unfamiliar place.

"So, who is your normal friend anyway?" He asks, to which Luke smiles, "his name is Sam, he was a family friend, but we kept in contact for a little after moved to scream street." He pulls off the bag from his back, "we haven't spoken in a while but i may have a few photos in here somewhere-"

"*No-*" Resus cuts in, grabbing the bag off Luke with vampiric speed, before laughing sheepishly. It was clear he did not want to indulge in looking at photos, when he could be getting home. So to try and backpedal, he just laughs out, "I mean, we're going to be seeing him in a second anyway. Why waste time?"

Deciding the brush past that snide remark, Luke leads the vampire up some stairs to an appartment, flat 23. It's small, and has a blue door. A small note that instructs people to not leave parcels by the door stuck onto the wood. Resus looks at Luke, an eyebrow raised in anxiousness, "You brought the blood with us right?" He asks, a little fidgety, "I don't want to go all fangy on your friend, It's been a while since i've smelt fresh blood..."

Luke, understanding his worries pats him on the back, "all in my backpack mate. If you start to feel funny, feel free to take some when needed!"

Resus appreciated Luke's kindness. They'd not known each other too long, and they were practically inseparable, not to mention Cleo. The vampire was grateful for his friends, even if he would never admit it fully. But they were there, at all his gigs, at his parties, even before he became a true vampire. And since they're so close, Resus has noticed some of Luke's nervous habits - things he does when he's worried, or trying to calm down. He was actually doing one now, clenching anf unclenching his fists was something Luke did often enough for Resus and Cleo to both catch on.

So now, since Luke was doing it here, at the door of a friend he probably has not seen in person for years, Resus tries to repay his kindness by being a supportive friend. Placing a cold hand on the werewolves shoulder, he gives an encouraging smile, "don't worry about it Luke, I'm sure everything will go smoothly. Just like you said it would."

That did seem to help, as Luke began breathing a bit easier. And finally, he brings up his hand and knocks on the door. And at first there is silence, followed a clattering sound - as if someone had dropped something - and footsteps rushing to the door. And with an eerie creak the door opens.

Standing in the doorframe is a boy, one a similar age to the two, with ash-blonde hair and green eyes. Wearing what seems to be spider-man pyjamas. And at first, the kid seems a little annoyed, before his begrudged expression is replaced by a shock.

"Luke?" Sam says, opening the door further, inviting them in with no words. Luke, who seems rather ignorant walks in with little hastle. Resus however, stands awkwardly in the doorway. And at first, Luke thought he was just being shy. But then it hit him. Resus needed to be invited in - he'd heard the stories sure, but had never realised it was fact. So before him and Sam could go inside any further, Luke smiles apologetically.

"Sorry Sam, my friend here has... OCD! Yeah, OCD. And has a weird condition where he needs to be invited in.." Luke says, coming up with an excuse on the spot. Which, lucky for them, Sam believes. And they all clamper inside and take up the living room. Sam seems a little unnerved, having not expected guests. Let alone one who he had assumed had dropped him altogether.

"So, why are you here Luke?" Sam asks not beating around the bush, before he looks at Resus, who had taken a place on his sofa and was staring at his hands awkwardly, "who's your friend..?"

Sam liked Luke sure, but the kid had always been doing shady things. Beating up people out of anger, sneaking around, hell he was expelled and he never saw the guy again. And now he's appeared on his doorstep with some gothic guy? He was confused and suspicious. But he didn't want to throw out a friend - especially one who may need help.

Luke smiles, completely oblivious to Sam's attitude, "this is Resus!" He exclaims enthusiatically, places his hands on Resus's shoulders, like displaying some sort of prize. Luke then presented a guilty face, "and... we were out getting something for a friend, but something happened. We were just hoping to borrow your phone..?"

Sam pauses, not completely buying Luke's story. His cousin had a friend who was dealing in illegal drugs to make a few pounds, and ended up using someone's house phone to call for backup. Leading to that person being arrested. Sam didn't want to assume the worst, but he was sure something was up. And he was certain it was not legal.

But unable to deny Luke without outright saying he thinks he's doing something illegal, Sam decides to just get him a phone to use. Leaving Resus and Luke alone for a moment as he makes his way upstairs to get the housephone.

Luke and Resus look at each other, a sigh of relief escaping them. And they sit beside one another on Sam's sofa. Before Resus breaks the silence, "who should we call? Your mum?"

Luke scoffs, "no way. I'll be grounded for life! And then we wouldn't be able to see that brain drain concert next week." The wolf says, as if it were the most important thing in the world, "i'm sure Eefa would understand and use a spell to get us home."

Resus nods, understanding that logic. And after a short moment, Sam returns with a phone. Holding it out to Luke, who goes to grab it. But Sam pulls it out of his grip last second, "before I give it to you, what were you doing?" He asks cautiously, "before you got here. I'd like some more details."

Luke gives him a puzzled look, before thinking up a lie on the spot, "we were... getting my aunt some ingredients for a cake. She needed it... like now." And as soon as they left his mouth, Luke knew he sounded as if he was spouting bullshit. And Sam could tell too. Carrying on with this interrogation with Luke, while Resus watches unsure on what to do.

Sam looks him up and down, before narrowing his eyes, "and where are these ingredients..?"

Luke could feel anger pooling in his stomach, not liking the feeling of being questioned like a criminal. And his fists began clenching anf unclenching as he spoke. Trying to remain calm, but Remus snaps his gaze over to him in a slight panic, knowing his best friend's habits. And Luke, not wanting to scare the vampire, takes a deep breath, "they're in my bag." and he points to Resus, who has the bag on his lap as he watches the interaction.

Sam walks over to Resus and snatches the bag from his grip, "then you wont mind me checking, right?"

By this point, both Resus and Luke were in a state of panic. And resus pounces up like a cat to a lazer, snagging the bag back and holding it to himself defensivelly. The black haired boy yelping out, "you can't!" Before trying to explain himself through a stumbled excuse, "look- it's... private."

By this point, Sam had had enough. Resus's erratic behaviour, paired with his sunken cheeks and those eye bags had everything he needed to know written out legibally. Looking at Luke, the blonde boy holds a look of disappointmen on his face, "Luke, i get being a bad boy or whatever, but this is mental. And I think it's best if I call 999, and just get them to help you."

Luke looks furious, and confused, but mainly furious. His hands were shaking and his teeth were grinding together, "Sam. What the fuck are you talking about?-"

"The drugs! Or whatever thing you have in there that is keeping you like this!" Sam snaps, trying to get to the bag once more, "my cousin saw this, and I don't want it happening to you! Just let the police help you." The kid holds up the phone, dialling 999.

Luke's hands drip with blood from his fists being clenched, his palms bloody from the claws. His teeth grinding against sharp cainines, and his eyes as black as the starless sky. His body is changing before he even realises it. Too many emotions overwhellming him before he can even think of calming down: hurt, betrayal anger and worry, all mixed into one giant couldron of werewolf.

Before Sam can even comprehend what has occurred, Resus has pounced at him. Slamming him out of the way, and behind the sofa. As the monstrous wolf tears the room apart. Its claws scraping up everything it can reach.

They hid in that spot until the continuous growling was replaced by a jarring snore. Luke laying covered in scratches, fast asleep.

Slowly, Resus gets up from behind the sofa and walks up to the sleeping brunette. Crouching down to check on his friend, "weird to think I was the one saving the day today," Resus murmurs, "1 to resus, 10 to cleo." As the vampire speaks to himself, Sam walks out of his hiding spot, looking about at the ruin he called his home. And over at his sleeping friend, who Resus was putting in a more comfortable position.

"What.." he says, but the words don't leave him, Resus sighs and stands to look at him.

"Erm.. do you have a bed? Or something like that he can use? He'll need to be somewhere softer when he wakes up." Resus says, but he does not explain anything, much to Sam's disapproval, but he just nods and goes along with it. Too much in a daze to argue at the moment. Together they held his hands and feet, before bringing him up to sam's room and laying him on the bed.

They sit on chairs by the bed as they wait for Luke to wake up, and Sam looks at the vampire. "So... What- What is he?" He asks, and Resus gives an awkward sigh, "he should wake up in a couple of minutes, we'll talk then okay?" And sam, not sure on how to cooperate with the situation, once again nods.

As if lock clockwork, Luke stirs, causing Sam to scoot back a bit, fear coating his features. Before the blonde schools his expression and looks over at Luke. Resus looks at the boy as he sits up in the bed, who's face goes from groggy, to confused, to realisation and finally to horror.

At that moment, Sam took it as an invitation to finally let out all emotions that he's been pooling inside of him for the last couple of minutes: "Luke! What the fuck?!" Sam exclaims, looking to have aged a few years in a few moments. As everything he's been wanting to say comes rushing out in one heap of incomprehensible words.

Luke, who hangs his head in shame, looking like a kicked puppy, tries to speak, "Sam, just let me explain-"

"Explain!?" Sam cuts him off, jumping to his feet as he yells, "Luke! You just turned into the fucking Wolfman and trashed my living room! I think this goes beyond explain."

Luke looks conflicted, looking from Sam to Resus and back again. Stammering out some sylables, but not forming actual words. Before he looks over at the vampire and sighs, "should we just... tell him?"

Sam feels himself growing more agitated, "tell me what?"

Ignoring his presence, Resus and Luke carry on speaking over the top of him, "we have to make him swear though. Maybe bring him to-"

Sam grabs hold of Luke's arm, cutting him off, "swear what, Luke?" Sam pauses, seeming more vulnerable now, "please dude. What is going on?"

Luke's face is the apiphony of confliction, guilt and uncertainty coating his features. Before the brunette finally just blurts out, "I'm a werewolf."

And, truthfully, Sam should have been more shocked. But he just watched the guy tear through his living room as if it were paper. So he can't really deny it, can he?

And as if to confirm, Resus nods along, adding in extra details, "me and Luke are neighbours. We live in a street specially made for people like us." There is a moment of silence, one that seems to cut through the tension as everything begins making sense to Sam. The bad habits, the expultion, the sneaking around. He wasn't some kid with a criminal record.

He was a werewolf.

Resus, who - at this moment - seemed at his bravest, grabs Sam's hand. The black haired boy's skin cold to the touch, "you have to keep this a secret. Swear it." Resus urges, gaze locked on Sam's, "otherwise you may have to come back to scream street with us- and a normal in scream street?-" Luke cuts Resus off by tapping the vampire on the shoulder, which makes the boy realise how much he's scaring Sam.

"I swear I wont tell anyone." Sam promises, looking at Luke with an apologetic stare.

They sit there in a bit of silence before Sam speaks up once again, his focus this time set on Resus, "you come from this place too right? Scream Street?" And upon receiving a nod reply, the blonde continues, "then what kind of thing are you?"

Luke smiles, probably happy about having his friend back. As well as getting to talk about his new one, "oh! Resus is- ow!" Resus has smacked Luke on the arm, before placing his hands on Luke's shoulders.

"I can talk for myself, thank you Luke." Resus says, before looking at Sam with a smile, "I happen to be a vampire."

Sam freezes, but clearly tries to cover it. While subconciously scooting bac. But Resus frowns anyhow, noticing his discomfort. Also being able to hear the sudden spike in the boy's heartbeat. In Scream Street, Resus has never been feared - being known as the 'Shampire'. And it's safe to say he does not like the feeling.

"Er. Don't worry? I've never drank from a human before?" Resus supplies, though it clearly does little to ease Sam's mind. Who tries to turn the conversation away from vampirism.

"I'm sorry, for not trusting you. And making you angry," the blonde says to Luke, "its just... You've always been so distant. And i'd linked your behabiour with someone my cousin knows and assumed the worst. I shouldn't have assumed and probably should have been nicer. I'm sorry."

Luke crosses his arms, a sharp look in his eye, "I get it Sam, but it made me angry when you started spouting accusations," but he smiles eitherway, "but you apologised, so I guess I can forgive you." Luke's word cause Sam to practically deflate in relief. Resus looks at him,"so can we still use your phone?'

Sam nods, and hands it to the vampire, who looks at it with an unreadable expression before handing it to Luke, who eagerly types in a number. With Resus looking over his shoulder, "why do you have Eefa's mobile number memorised?" The vampire asks, to which Luke's face flushes, and he turns away. Bringing the phone to his ear.

"Hey! Eefa!" Luke says enthusiastically, before he calms down and listens down the phone, "yes we did get your potions ingredients... but we need some help getting back..."

Luke and Sam stand idly off to the side, communicating silently as Luke chats to Eefa over the phone. And after a bit of a back and forth, she finally decides to lend them a hand in getting home.

Luke hands the phone back to Sam, who gives a smile. Still revelling in the entire situation. Before Luke turns to Resus, and grins, "should be any moment now."

relief hit Resus's features, before it was masked with fear, "wait. Everyone's going to see me! Everyone's going to see me looking like some sort of emo-"

Whatever Resus was saying is cut off as they're covered in a purple hue, a shining portal that looks like thousands of galaxies boiled into one single shape. Before vainsinh as fast as it arrived. And in a single moment, they're gone.

Now with the house silent, sam releases a breath he didn't know he was holding, sighing in relief. And as he turned to his bed, the dent from Luke's form still present, a small postit note sits on his pillow. Scribbled in fast handwriting.

Luke's phone is broken, anger issues paired with claws is not a good look. But heres my number if you ever want to get in touch

***********

- Resus.

Sam felt himself smiling, a joy filling his chest as he thinks about regaining a friend - and maybe even making a new one. But the feeling vanished as soon as he heard the door open, the thump of a very recognisable handbag dropping to the floor.

"Samuel George Turner!" A woman yells from the living room, "What in the Lord's name have you done to my house!"

And in that moment, sam knew he was dead.

Dead Dead.
