Chapter Text

Hey Hey! Did you hear? The human is here in PlayCare!

Apparently the human is being helped by Poppy and another toy.

What! That’s so unfair, having two people helping you!

Yeah! And CatNaps totally playing with this human before he kills them, you know how he gets when hunting.

I don't get why he plays with his food before he kills it! If I was him I would get it over with quickly so I can get to the eating!

With each whisper DogDay grew more concerned, for the human and CatNap. The overgrown feline was treating this like a game, he could easily get caught off guard if the human had a trick up their sleeve. Which they most definitely have, having made it past Huggy Wuggy and Mommy Long Legs.

But he also wanted the human to make it through and defeat the Prototype, if they do succeed he could get his CatNap back. His future back.

There you go again! Always thinking about eating.

Can you blame me, how long has it been since CatNap fed us!

He’ll feed us soon! He always does…

DogDay ears picked up the sound of a mini critter Skittering around, but this time way closer than ever before. It sounded like the critter was right underneath him. The canine peered at the floor below, only to find a mini Bobby BearHug staring up at him. As he gazed curiously at the critter he noticed that it wasn’t looking at his face rather at the exposed area of his torso.

Stomach churning, he growled at the bear hoping to intimidate it into leaving. However, his growling soon turned into screaming as he felt the monster's teeth latch on to his organs, viciously trying to bite a chunk off.

The other critters, having heard his screams, quickly entered his cell.

They watched hypnotized as the little red bear hung in the air, only its teeth clinging to the pink intestines of the screaming dog above. Some, thankfully, seemed to break out of their surprise rather quickly, as they began to swiftly tear the bear off DogDay. The giant dog's screams morphed into pained whines as his opened waist burned in searing hot pain. DogDay could only watch as the other toys dragged the little monster out of his cell.

What are you doing!

I-……I was so hungry …

That’s your excuse! You're gonna get us all killed!

We’re starving too! But you don’t see us biting the forbidden fruit!

That’s CatNaps prisoner not ours!

Yeah! You have to wait till he gives the order to do that!

Wait, do you still have some in your mouth?!

She does! Give it here! Let me have a taste!

DogDay listened horrified at their barely contained hunger. They were going to eat him if given the chance, soon if the sounds of their stomachs grumbling was anything to go off of. And worst of all, CatNap was not going to be here anytime soon. He could only pray that the ravenous little toys could hold off their hunger till CatNaps return. If not, the mini critters would sooner than later prove their daily threatening whispers to be true.

CatNap wandered through the destroyed dirty school leisurely following the fresh tracks of the human. He didn’t feel threatened by Poppy’s little worker, if anything it seemed like the human found him to be absolutely terrifying.

As he remembered the human's terrified expressions and yelps as he stalked them from the shadows an amused chuckle escaped his gaping mouth.

It’s been a while since he's hunted such big prey, he truly had to savor this game of cat and mouse till the very end. And once he killed the human he’d give the corpse to DogDay to show him his concern was unwarranted. His eyes softened as the orange dog entered his mind, the corpse could also serve as an apology for taking him down from his chains only to hang him back up.

Maybe this present could finally convince DogDay to join the Prototype! Then the dog would finally be allowed to leave his chains and be free to worship Him with him!

He wouldn’t have to see the pain and sorrow that always adjourned DogDays face when he’d watch him from the shadows secretly.

He felt his thoughts travel back to DogDays speech in his room. His steps faltered as he remembered the pure hope in the canines eyes as he told CatNap they still had the chance to live their lives together, even in this factory.

He felt his blood go cold as he recalled the dog's words, “He saved you from a situation he put you in. You don’t owe him anything.”

Had he really been considering it?

...

No, of course not! He couldn’t be convinced so easily to abandon his Savior.

CatNap shook his head violently trying to shake the thoughts from his head. He didn’t have to think about this, at least for now. He was on a hunt and he couldn't distract himself with these questions.

Once he brings the human’s corpse to DogDay as a gift, there’s always the small chance it could lead to the canines' conversion.

With new vigor in his steps, CatNap continues his trek.

Entering a long hallway, his eyes immediately land on the corpse of the patroller of this area, Miss Delight. Approaching closer he could see her head had been crushed by the weight of the gate, it also seemed that one of her legs was missing.

How disappointing. She was a good ally to have around PlayCare, and now here her corpse lay. At least its position had left a small opening in the gate, it seemed even in death she proved to be useful.

CatNap stuck his paws in the little opening and heaved the gate up, swiftly crawling underneath it to the other side before it closed. Behind him he could hear the gate smash back down into Miss Delights face, cracking more of the plastic around it. He huffed as he pushed the lever on the wall up, reopening the gate and freeing her head from the pressure. No toy deserved their corpse to be left in such a desecrated manner.

As he turned around continuing on the humans path, he quickly put Miss Delights cadavers' location in his head to memory. After all he couldn’t leave such a perfectly good pile of meat to rot, he’d give it to the mini SmilingCritters it had been awhile since he’s last fed them.

Notes:

Miss Delight would still be alive if she didn’t try to impress the Player with her sick Akira slide :/
