Dew drew in a sharp breath as he sat down at the piano. He hadn’t played it in a while but he didn’t want to play his guitar in his room and he honestly just wanted to be left alone for the time being. Copia had broken the news to them that Aether and Sunshine would not be on the upcoming tour. The summoning for Phaeon and Aurora would be happening soon and Dewdrop just… wanted to get lost in the music for a time being.
How Dewdrop found the piano was while cleaning in one of the abandoned practice rooms. Alpha, Ifrit and Dewdrop were practicing fire magic a few months after Dewdrop transitioned into being the new fire ghoul. The pair thought the element suited Dewdrop well; but they still mourned their shy and quiet water ghoul.
Dew spent time fixing the piano up to par. And once he was done fixing it he played it all the time when he had the free chance to do so. It relaxed him a lot. Helped him escape from the world. Currently he was teaching himself Masterpiece by Motionless In White singing softly along when someone put their hand on his shoulder.
Dewdrop jumped, before swiftly spinning around and looking at who scared him. It was Aether who had a huge grin graced upon their lips. Dew’s ears pinned back, and he slightly bared his teeth at one of his partners.
“How long were you there for?” Dewdrop asked, eyes skirting around to see if anyone had followed Aether. The quint ghoul chuckled, leaning down to place a chaste kiss to the fire ghoul’s lips, before nuzzling against his neck.
“When you sang Another Life and then sang Eternally Yours.” Aether stated, pressing a kiss to Dewdrop’s forehead. Dewdrop felt his cheeks heat up in embarrassment.
“That long? Wh- Sorry if it sounded terrible. I'm not like Cirrus or Lulu when it comes to the piano.” Dewdrop huffed out, thinking Aether was teasing him. The fire ghoul quickly got up off the piano bench, only for Aether to press his shoulder down and semi forced Dew to sit back down, the fire ghoul slow blinking at Aether.
“No, you aren’t like our girlfriends. They’re good at the electric ones. But you my little flame.. You are amazing at playing the grand piano. I could listen to you play and sing for hours.” Aether explained, brushing a stray silvery blue hair away from Dew’s face before gripping his pointed chin and pressing a hot kiss to Dewdrop’s lips once more. The smaller let out a small whine as Aether moved away only for the quint ghoul to sit next to him. Letting out a confused chirp Dewdrop gently head butted his horns against Aether’s shoulder.
“Play me some more songs my love? Aether asked, looking at his partner. Dew nibbled at his lips and sat back down, breathing in and then out before playing more, letting himself get lost into the song he was playing for his lover. Dewdrop ended up playing Fall For Me and The Love You Want both by Sleep Token. Afterwords; Dewdrop perched himself on Aethers lap and brought him into a kiss once more. Aether let out a happy chitter, despite Dewdrop crying, Aether licked his tears away and wrapped his arms around Dewdrop’s small frame and whispered sweet affirmations into Dewdrop’s ears as the smaller ghoul buried his face against Aether’s chest.
“My darling love. My spitfire. My volcano. I will always love you to the universe and back. Nothing and no one will separate us. I promise you this. I know.. Tour without Sunshine and I will be difficult. But we will be here when you get home. And we will be here for every facetime call.” Aether whispered, holding Dewdrop tight.
Dewdrop sniffled a bit, breaking away from the comfort of having his face buried, wiping the tears away from his cheeks.
“It's not just about you two not being on tour with us… Im.. frankly afraid of how the new ghouls will be. What if they’re not a good fit for not just the band but with the pack? What if… they dont like me? ” Dewdrop confessed. Aether hummed and nuzzled against Dewdrop’s cheek.
“I think you need to be there for the summoning… Everyone loves you Dew and I’m sure the new pack members will also love you. Give them time to adjust, be there for them. Offer your time to them. It will be okay Babylove.” Aether explained. Dewdrop nodded, letting out a content rumbly purr and kissing Aether once more.
“Thank you for the reassurance Aeth. It really means a lot to me.” Dewdrop spoke as he cuddled into his boyfriend.
“Always my love. Are you up for playing more songs for me? I’d like to record them so I can listen to you play while you’re on tour…” Aether shyly asks. Dewdrop let out a hearty laugh, tossing his head back, letting his silvery blue hair splay about.
“Of course you goofball. Get settled on the chair over there and I'll play your favorite songs.” Dewdrop answered. Aether grinned and kissed Dewdrop’s cheek, settling Dewdrop on the piano bench and getting up to move and get comfortable on the chair that was in the room. Dewdrop also got comfortable and played a handful of Aether’s songs for him.
Dewdrop felt lighter than when he had felt when he came into his little sanctuary. He was glad Aether found him. Dewdrop knew his first lover and partner would always be there for him; and Dew knew the rest of his partners would also be there for him.
And only time would tell if the two new ghouls would adore Dew the same way he adores his pack and the way his pack adores him. For now, he’ll play his piano for Aether. And perhaps show his other partners his passion.
