Hanzo was never fond of his birthday, he didn't like having a huge party and the only two people who knew about was Genji and Kiriko. So when he birthday came he was honestly ready to be bombarded with happy birthdays from the two of them when he left his room but that didn't happen, A few people wished him a happy birthday and nothing more in which he respected since he was grateful that the others didn't throw him a huge birthday party. He did get a few gifts from Lena and Mei but none the less he adored them little charms and trinkets (Mainly Lena which was last minute but none the less he adored it).
Even Brigitte wrote him a poem for his birthday and he adored it, it was very sweet and straight from the heart with her. He's was also proud of her since her writing was improving since she did ask him to her critic her writing skills.
"It's a wonderful poem Brigitte, although have you seen Kiriko and Genji?"Hanzo said to her as he folded the poem away neatly. He been wondering where they were and usually they'll surprise him with cake for breakfast or what not but this was unusual behaviour from them not showing up to wish him a happy birthday.
"Oh uh...Honestly I think I saw them not to long ago but I don't know where they went....Maybe they went to your room?"She said unsure but was happy that he loved her poem.
Hanzo nodded a bit but though it was very weird that they would show up around the others wishing a great birthday. "Thank you Brigitte and keep up the good work with you're writing it's getting better, better than my writing I'll say"He smiled softly at her before walking off to find his brother and Kiriko.
While walking to where Brigitte last spotted Genji and Kiriko he almost bumped into them startling the two of them when they bumped into each other. "Oh Kiri, Genji I was look-"He was soon cut off when Kiriko just looked at him bewildered before just teleported away from him leaving Genji behind.
Genji looked like he was almost ready to kill her when she vanished but looked at Hanzo. "Sorry Anija, I'm a bit busy my master needs me at the moment!"He said quickly and walked past him in a hurry leaving Hanzo without saying another word to him
"I...What?"Hanzo was shocked and turned around to wonder what just happened and why was Kiriko and Genji acting like this, he fallowed Genji well tried to fallow him since Genji was actually running away from him and he had to run after him which was stupid since he wanted to talk to Genji.
While running Genji made a sharp turn and disappeared from his line of sight and lost track of him sighing but also he never ran like that before, though it was a bit foolish of him running after Genji. Honestly he was sure what was up with them but he wasn't going to question it even though it was very out of character of them reacting like that when they ran into him or well he did. He was so sure but still it was very out of character for them to basically run from him.
Though he'll try to talk them next time since there reaction was a bit weird but none the less the others are willing to wish him a happy birthday, he'll speak to them maybe when there were less people around them since that could be the sole reason why they avoided him.

While everyone wished Hanzo a happy birthday he thought that maybe Genji and Kiri could at least spend time with him now that he was free they were no where to be seen, if he did see them it was honestly annoying him when ever he went to them or at least try to make a simple conversation they would leave him or say that something came up.
Nothing like this ever bother him, there were times were he did spend his birthday alone but this was clearly a low blow from them and honestly he wasn't going to lie it hurt him deeply. Since there were times were usually either Genji or Kiri would come to his room and wish him a happy birthday or at least give him a small cake.
The last staw was when he spotted both Kiriko and Genji whispering to one another and when he walked over to them to at least speak with them on why they're avoiding him the just took off before he had a chance to speak to either of them and it tick him off but it also felt like they didn't want to spend time with him at all on his birthday.
"Whatever I'm not going to chase them if they don't want to spend time with me"Hanzo rolled his eyes and crossed his arms he didn't wanted to be affected by their reaction but made his heart tense up in pain but he carried on after all maybe they were busy and wanted to spend time with him but they would have said so to him. It didn't matter honestly he was going to make himself some tea before heading off to bed he wasn't going to play in there antics.
While walking towards the kitchen he spotted Cassidy but rolled his eyes as he entered just to brew on tea."Evening Cole"He said as he grabbed the kettle to boil some water so he can brew his tea calmly. "We'll now happy birthday Hanzo, though usually people would be in a chipper mood on there birthday so what's bother ya pumpkin?"He asked him calmly leaning against the wall as he watched him brew his tea. "Not that you don't mind me askin, You don't need to tell me if you don't want too."
Hanzo face flushed a bit red and turned to him, was he that easy to read? Didn't matter but he was feeling a bit upset after all his brother and Kiri have been avoiding him all day yet it didn't matter what was bothering him it was none of Cassidy business. Though being reluctant he wanted to get it off his chest after all what's the harm of actually telling Cassidy?
He sighs softly and looked at Cole a bit. "Well...Genji and Kiriko have been avoiding me recently and I won't lie it actually hurts" he said too Cassidy, there he rip off the band-aid.
"I see we'll that sucks, tell you what Hanzo how about you and I head out and spend some quality time together on yer birthday "Cole smiled a bit with a chuckled.
That took Hanzo by surprise, there was no way that Cole was going to spend some time with him on his birthday and even if he did there was no plan for them to do besides just walk around spending time together. Still it's better than staying in his room all day so why not take up on the request that Cole offered to him. The worst that can happen is if bounty hunters or assassins showed up on his birthday trying to kill (which has happen a few times)
"Alright than Cassidy, I accept you're offer just let be dress accordingly to the weather"He said to him very serious since the weather was on the chilly side and he didn't want to freeze outside on his birthday, but it was nice spending time with someone other than his brother and Kiriko.
"Alright and don't worry I'll treat ya darlin after all it's you're birthday after all so I'll be waiting for you when your ready okay"Cole smiled sweetly at him. That made Hanzo blush as he walked away clearly rolling his eyes"yes,yes I'll see you soon "He said quickly.
"Alright, see ya soon Hanzo"Cole smiled happily.
Hanzo just rubbed his cheeks trying to calm himself down he really hated how Cole was really charming after all he did have a crush on him which he found out the hard way thinking that Cole would have at least been rude or threaten him but no he was accepting him and understood what happen but more over it annoyed him that Cole was trying to be friends with them and that idiot managed to be his friends only with the cost of him developing a crush onto to him.
"I really can't deal with this today, why did I agree to hang out with him"Hanzo grumbled as he went to his room to change his attire so he can head out with Cole. He was just going to spend time with Cole hang out with him and once they come back he was going to head back to his room and pretend that this never happened. "Just get it over with Hanzo the better the sooner since this is going to be the last time you spend your birthday with someone other than Kiri and Genji....just your crush"He groaned.

This took longer than expected but Hanzo finally left his room after beating himself a bit over a dumb crush he has on Cole but also the fact he was complaining about his brother and Kiriko not spending time with him on his birthday. But in the end he was grateful that Cole was very patience with him and didn't get mad at him for taking to long to get dress(While being miserable on his birthday) but still he was happy that he dressed accordingly to the weather since there was a chill in the air.
Though Cole looked nice too since he too did dress right for the weather for the first time even though he seen Cole not dress accordingly for anything during missions and usually would end up getting sick or worse. "I see you finally dressed up normally for the weather" he explained calmly to him.
"Hey now, what is that suppose to mean birthday boy?"Cole looked at him clearly offended a bit. Which made Hanzo smile a bit clearly Cole knew what he was talking about but he just chuckled a bit" Usually you don't dress for the weather but now you do"he teased him.
"Yeah Yeah, ain't my fault though hate when the weather changes; Cause how am I suppose to know it was going to snow or maybe Rain"Cole explained and started walking with Hanzo to a small town too see if anything caught his attention.
"What ever you say Cowboy"Hanzo chuckled fallowing him, honestly it was nice spending time with Cole for his birthday since he never spend anyone else it was really a nice change of pace for him after all it did feel like a small adventure to him.
While walking together it was very quiet between the both of them but it was very relaxing anyways, something that Hanzo enjoyed it was nice seeing other people and omnics walk by chatting with one another or at least enjoying one another company just like what he and Cole were doing.
"Is there anything you want to do Hanzo?"
That was completing out of left field and clearly caught Hanzo off guard. "I um..I'm not sure but I do thank you for spending time with me cause I was going to make myself some tea and than head off to bed"He explained calmly to him.
"Yeah I know what you mean Hanzo, also I could have gotten you something but I didn't know what to get so why not treat you anyways besides what the harm in it "He smiled at him which was true, Hanzo could tell he was telling the truth since clearly Cole was no where to been seen but none the less at least Cole was honest with his answer."I don't want you spending on me on what I do for my birthday Cassidy"he said to him.
"Yeah but I want to Hanzo after all think of it as a birthday gift from me to you, you can get whatever you want after all I don't mind"Cole explained calmly to him but stayed close to Hanzo but mainly pulled him close as he wrapped his arm around his waist.
Hanzo felt his cheeks burn up a bit but stayed quiet a bit he didn't want to push him away but also the fact he didn't want people to think they were a couple, for now he'll deal with it and honestly he'll let it slide for now since it was a nice feeling being held by Cole as he walked with him enjoying the evening turn to dusk slowly.
Soon the busy streets were full of life but slowly started to die down as shops were beginning to close as omincs and people began to head home, though a few shops were open it was a nice feeling for Hanzo spending time with Cole since he slowly warmed up to Cole and they joked and laughed a bit from time to time. This was a nice feeling that he didn't want to end but he felt bad for wasting Cole's time time since they walked by a few stores and none of them caught his attention but mainly he wouldn't use any of the stuff that Cole would buy for him.
"Hey Cole I'm sorry for wasting your time since you offered to treat me and still I didn't find anything that caught my attention."He explained to him since it was true there was nothing that caught his attention and he felt bad that Cole wasted his time on him.
"Nah don't sweat it Hanzo beside's all that matters is that you enjoy you're birthday, still I'm sorry that Genji and Kiri have been avoiding you but that shouldn't bring you down okay also I..like you company"Cole said as he rubbed the back of his neck face being slightly red.
Hanzo looked at Cole a bit shocked and looked away feeling a bit flustered there was now way that Cole had feelings for him but than again maybe he did. He wasn't so sure but he wasn't going to risk it but he wanted to end his birthday on a good note even if it's not with Kiriko or Genji at least it would have been Cole. "I enjoy you company too Cassidy"He said smiling softly though he hid it a bit he just wanted to be sure that he wasn't seeing things since he didn't want to give his hopes up.
"I'm glad you think so too Hanzo" Cole stated and all Hanzo could respond was with a simple hum of agreement. Soon the stars started to show and the lights slowly turn on, even though Hanzo wished he found something he like he was happy to have someone like Cole.
Hanzo looked at Cole as if he was ready to tell him he was ready to head back to home but before he could say anything he spotted a little bakery shop and took Cole's hand and started dragging him over to the shop. "WOAH! uh Hanzo you alright?"Cole asked him.
Hanzo smiled as he looked at the display case and noticed two strawberry cakes which was a bonus deal and what he was hoping for(Maybe one strawberry cake would be better but two was a gift) "Cole can you buy me those two strawberry cakes?"he asked him happily looking at him.
Cole looked at Hanzo and smiled softly as he chuckled before nodding "Alright than come on than let's go buy you those cakes"he rolled his eyes and entered the bakery with Hanzo whom seemed very excited about him buying the cake.
Hanzo was honestly excited since not only was he going to get two cakes but Cole was buying them for him and he was very excited like a little even though he was a grown man he was happy that this was the best birthday gift ever. It was nice seeing Cole talk to the baker and asked him for the two strawberry cakes too which the baker smiled and was already packaging it up for them since they told Cole the total of the credits of much both cakes costed.
Hanzo smiled happily once both cakes were packaged up and placed in a bag in which Hanzo took happily in his arms being very careful with it as he watched Cole pay for the cakes and thanked the baker before heading out of the bakery with hanzo. "You sure like yer cakes huh Hanzo."He chuckled a bit.
"Of course I do and thank you for buying me the cake's Cole I really appreciate it so thank you even though I wasted you're credits on two strawberry cakes"Hanzo said happily but felt slightly bad that probably both cakes were expensive that Cole wasted his money on.
"Nah don't sweat it Hanzo, besides do you want to know something what can do with two cakes?"Cole asked him not minding that he wasted his credits on the cake but it was all worth it to see Hanzo eye's light up and it was very adorable for him to see it.
"What will go with the cakes"Hanzo asked him as he tilted his head slightly confused on what Cole meant, he wasted his credits on his cakes so what else can go with his the cakes.
Cole smiled and took the bag being very gentle with it since he notice now scared Hanzo look when he took it but relaxed the moment he was very careful with the items in the baggage."Come I think I saw a café so we can get some tea for the cakes, cause you know cake and tea make a great combination together you know"he said as he headed towards the café.
Hanzo couldn't believe it that Cole was spoiling him on his birthday not that he didn't mind but it was shocking and luckily enough for the both of them it was busy and clearly he wanted to know what kind of tea he would get.
"Can I get two chai tea latte for me and my friend Hanzo "Cole smiled at the barista though Hanzo was honestly surprised that Cole knew that he liked Chai tea, he wondered if Genji told him or that Cole was that observant on him to know what he liked to drink during the cold weather.
He watched Cole pay for the drink still holding the cakes and Hanzo wanted to hold them since he didn't want Cole to carry anything more but was surprised when Cole refused to give him the bag."Listen Hanzo this is your birthday and I'm willing to carry almost everything alright. Besides I'm willing to make some sacrifices on carrying a few items that you want so don't worry to much pumpkin"Cole smiled sweetly at him before hearing the order for their drinks.
Hanzo smiled softly clearly he loved this man even though it was foolish of him carrying everything, although he was going to hold his latte. He just watched Cole just manuver how to hold the drinks and the cakes clearly impressed since he placed both drinks on the package and lifted it up as the drinks didn't topple over making a mess nor did her drop the cakes too, he really didn't deserve this not at all and diffidently not from Cole either too since this was too nice of him.
"Alright got everything done Hanzo you ready to head out?"Cole smiled happily at him sweetly.
Hanzo didn't know what came over him but he got on his tippy toes and gave him a kiss on the cheek thanking him."Thank you for doing this for me Cole I really appreciate it " he smiled softly only to realise what he had done making his face turn bright red before grabbing his cup holding it in his hands as if that would hide him from the embarrassment he just did. There was no way in hell he just kissed his cheek over something to cheesy and stupid of all things on his birthday.
Cole looked at Hanzo clearly surprised as he his face heated up too before he laughed a bit heading outside "Don't worry Hanzo I won't tell a soul, since after all it is your birthday and I won't make fun of you for it since it was a sweet guester" he smiled a bit.
Hanzo fallowed him nodding a bit soon got a bit serious. "You better not tell anyone EVEN after my birthday, cause I swear to the dragons Cole Cassidy you'll be dragon food if I hear someone say anything about that kiss I gave you"he grumbled a bit clearly flustered.
"Don't worry Hanzo I assure you even after your birthday, I won't tell a soul I promise you that and beside's Hanzo."Cole said looking at him before he looked away smiling a bit. "I really really like you ya know, so thank you for the kiss and no I don't like you as a friend I honestly...well I love you...Pretty corny I know but it's the truth Hanzo, I love you and that kiss was really sweet"He explained a bit flustered but he got it off his chest.
Hanzo couldn't believe what he just heard there was no way that Cole actually liked him. It made him feel special but he smiled softly just holding his drink close to him, he took a small sip from his drink before looking at Cole and smiled softly at him. "I like you too Cole, but thank you for spending time with me. I've never celebrated me birthday with someone else other than Kiri or Genji maybe the both of them together but it feels nice spending it with you"He confessed his feelings towards him but also confessing that he also liked Cole too.
"We'll I'll be you really do like me"Cole chuckled when Hanzo smacked him on the arm pretty hard wincing a bit in pain but that smile never went away. "Still Hanzo it's okay having friends and loved one's celebrate you're birthday and honestly I envy you cause I used to have that but it's not that much anymore yet spending time with you on your birthday is very...I don't know how too even say it"Cole shrugged smiling lovingly at Hanzo.
"It's comfort Cole"Hanzo stated happily as he leaned against him. "It's just the comfort cowboy"
"Ah back to me being a cowboy I see"Cole smirked only to be smacked in the same spot again. "Shut up fool and let us enjoy this moment together besides I wish to head home now after all you did so much for me and I really enjoyed spending my time with you"He said happily.
Cole looked at Hanzo and smiled a bit before sighing a bit."I well there one more place I want to treat you for you're birthday, I promise you it'll be a quick one just fallow me pumpkin"He smiled happily.
Hanzo looked a bit skeptical but fallowed him none the less since he was curious on where Cole was going to take him, since after he thought this day was over for him. He might as well enjoy every last moment of his birthday with Cole so what's the harm in that.

Hanzo fallowed Cole a bit till he realised that that they walked over to a near by park which made him even more curious on why Cole would take him to a park of all places. He looked at him about to say something but Cole started talking already."This is the last surprise for your birthday darling trust me it's worth the wait "he said.
"Cole what do you mean my that? "He said very confused till he looked up and spotted a little picnic set up by Genji and Kiriko. Why where they both there at the park and how did Cole even know to go too this park of all places till he put two and two together. It was a stupid surprise party with his brother,Kiri,and Cole just for him.
"You got to be kidding me"Hanzo sighs softly but smiled when Kiriko and Genji got up and went over to him happily but also seemed a bit upset for avoiding him too all day. "Happy birthday Anija/Hanzo!"Kiriko and Genji exclaimed happily making him roll his eyes.
"Sorry for avoiding you Hanzo, we didn't want you to realise what we were doing for you birthday."Kiriko said a bit upset, but looked at Cole."So we sorta asked Cassidy to fill in for us well mainly Genji did since he did know Cassidy will help us stall you but mainly bring you out too us."she explained too him.
Hanzo looked at Cole and raised a brow at him but rolled his eyes when Cole just gave him a nervous smile but over all he enjoyed this moment none the less with Cole, but he wasn't going to tell neither Genji nor Kiriko that he kissed Cole cheek and also the fact the two of them confessed they're feelings to one another. Still he understood what they were saying it was a surprise party meant for him and of course their timing was a bit off since he did walk in on them while talking to one another.
"I won't lie, the two of you avoiding did make me a bit upset think you guys didn't feel like celebrating my birthday with me but I'm glad that wasn't the case though I probably should have known the reason why you two were ignoring me but now I fully understand the reason why it was for a picnic for me. So I thank you for making the preparation for it even though it was a hassle when I was around you two"he chuckled a bit.
"Again we didn't too make you upset brother but I'm glad you had fun also we packed you're favourite food so please sit down and enjoy the meal with us"Genji said as he tilted his head towards the the nice picnic spot. Even though it was a dumb decision to have a picnic in the cold it didn't matter to Hanzo he just smiled and sat down on the warm blanket with Kiriko,Genji and Cole joining him as well. He watched as Kiri pulled out a small bento box containing some of his favourite food and snacks as well as Genji pulling out some sake bottles to keep him warm.
Hanzo smiled softly and chuckled a bit"You guys really put in the work of making this picnic happen, I thank you for this wonderful birthday gift I'll cherish it for a long time. So thank you Genji, Kiriko I love really like this gift that you put the effort into making it."He explained and had some of latte just to keep him warm which was still surprisingly hot still.
He smiled softly when Cole set the the pastry bag down but noticed that Genji cocked his head to the side wondering why Cole pulled out two boxes for the picnic. "Cole why are there two cake boxes?"he asked him.
"We'll Genji its a cake for two, one for the picnic and one for home"Hanzo explained as he looked at Cole lovingly, he didn't care if either his brother or Kiri noticed that he was giving the googly eyes at Cole and he could have swore that Cole smiled back at him before he chuckled.
"He got what he wanted Genji, can deny him that after all it is still his birthday"Cole explained calmly to Genji.
Genji looked like he was ready too throttle Cole or at least freak out but Kiriko bless her heart was there to take one of the boxes as she open it up."Alright than, it's a good thing I brought the candles and we'll talk about this later for now let's light up this bad boy and celebrate you birthday Hanzo"She smiled as she pulled the candles out from the basket and stuck her hand out in front of Cole."I know you carry a lighter so hand it over cowboy"she said.
Cole and Hanzo looked a bit flustered but Cole rolled his eyes at Kiriko demand and handed her his lighter as she took it happily. Hanzo smiled softly as he watched Kiriko light yup a few candles before handing Cole back his lighter as the amber flames flicker a bit in the wind but over all it was a nice spending time with the he loved and cared for, it was nice watching seeing his brother, Kiriko, and Cole all being there just for him he looked at the candles before blowing them out.
"Did you make a wish Hanzo?"Genji asked him quiet curious since he wanted to know what Hanzo wished for on his birthday.
"Actually I didn't wish for anything since spending time you three, is enough for me but enough talking I want my cake served"He chuckled happily. Kiriko just rolled her eyes and took out her kunai and cut up the cake into equal parts"We didn't bring any plates so we can eat with in the box and again happy birthday Hanzo"she smiled and already had her slice of cake.
Hanzo smiled happily as he ate his piece as well but leaned again Cole a bit enjoying this moment, as he knows Genji isn't to fond of what he was witnessing but he'll talk to him later about since he knows that Genji is going to ask him if he and Cole are a couple but for now he'll let it slide since it is his birthday after all.
"Happy birthday darlin, hope you enjoy the rest of your birthday happy"Cole smiled as he ate the cake as well. We'll Cole wasn't wrong but Hanzo was going to enjoy the rest of his birthday with them and clearly he'll treat Cole back when his birthday come's around cause after all he's going to take him out and this time but for now he'll enjoy this moment with them. "Thank you Cole I'm glad we got to spend time together, so again thank you so much"
"Of course pumpkin"Cole smiled and wrapped his arm Hanzo enjoying this moment with him. This was the best birthday that Hanzo could ever ask for and he's for sure we'll cherish this memory for a long time since after Cole did buy him two cakes but also the fact that Kiriko and Genji put in the effort in making a small surprise "party", This clearly was the best birthday he could ever ask for and he'll enjoy it once it's over.
