"It's the anniversary of…you know-" Of course Kai knew. He couldn't forget. They may not have been friends but he watched him die! That's not something you just forget about overnight! "-So, we're going over to Adam's house." That makes sense. His house was lonely. Mira didn't like being there after…everything. Skeet, well, his family doesn't exist anymore. Vanessa's is too unwelcoming. And, Reeve, well they don't talk about his family life. Adam's house was welcoming. Warm. And they even had a dog! Someone talking forced him out of his thoughts.
"We were thinking of just skipping school. Not like we need to know anything. And, anyway it would help everyone to just have a day off today. You skipping too, or do you wanna catch up later?" "I'm definitely skipping." He would skip everyday if it meant he could cozy up with some hot cocoa and all his friends.

"Everyone, get over here!" Adam said, laying down and pulling Kai and Mira down on top of him. Kai shrieked and everyone laughed at him. Kai hid his face against Adam's chest in embarrassment. Mira moved so her face was against Adam's shoulder. Reeve and Vanessa took a second too long and Adam pulled them down on top of him too. Vanessa big spooned Mira while Reeve laid at a weird but comfortable angle against Adam and Kai. Reeve levitated a blanket over top of them.
