Work Text:
It’s actually kind of weird, going from being best friends to boyfriends. Scorpius has read a lot about relationships and even a sort of embarrassing number of romance novels, so he thinks he has a pretty good idea of what’s meant to happen, even though Albus tells him that he can’t rely too much on what other people do, and that they’re their own people. Which Scorpius knows. Obviously.
But it’s still weird, and he spends the entire first month worried that they’ll spoil their friendship. He’s worried about it until Albus pulls him aside to kiss him and tell him (affectionately) that he’s being an idiot. That they’re going to be together forever – as friends or boyfriends or whatever else.
That what matters is they’re each other’s most important person.
And that makes Scorpius feel a bit better.
Especially when Albus kisses him about it. He didn’t know he’d like kissing Albus quite as much as he actually does, which sounds sort of ridiculous when he actually thinks about it.
It’s Albus, after all.
The weirdest thing about dating Albus, though, is that they still don’t really get privacy in the dormitory, because all of their roommates still sort of hate them. Scorpius is used to it, and even though Albus threatens to fight them sometimes, they both know it’s not worth it.
Scorpius isn’t really too concerned about that, honestly. Even though he wants to have sex with Albus (and he knows he does), the reality of it, every time they get close, is sort of terrifying.
He doesn’t even fully know why. He knows Albus loves him – they never would have crossed that line if they weren’t both entirely sure that they were in love and wanted to be together.
(And that’s weird, too, thinking about the fact that they’re actually in love with each other!)
It’s not exactly like Scorpius has anyone else to ask about this. He’d normally talk to Albus about it, but it’s difficult when Albus is part of the equation. Scorpius loves his dad, but he also knows his dad is going to freak out when he learns that Scorpius is dating Albus.
(Not out of anything against Albus, Scorpius is pretty sure, but more because he really doesn’t like Albus’s dad.)
So Scorpius just kind of tries to reason with himself that there’s no reason to be nervous. It’s Albus. They’ve been best friends for years.
If there’s anyone in the world he trusts completely, it’s Albus.
Which is how he finds himself in a disused classroom on the second floor at midnight after Astronomy (an unseasonably clear and starry night), doors locked with every charm Scorpius knows (and he knows a lot of them), snogging Albus on a desk. Neither of them are very experienced, and it’s a bit sloppy. Scorpius doesn’t mind in the least. All that matters to him in the moment is being as close to Albus as possible.
He pulls Albus closer, bunching his fists in Albus’s robes. Albus starts to trail kisses down Scorpius’s neck. Oh. That feels so good; it’s ridiculous, really, that something so simple would make his toes curl. He knows the reasoning behind it, of course – he’s read those books too – but it doesn’t make it any less wonderful when Albus does it.
“I want to get you off,” Albus murmurs.
Oh, Merlin. They’re as private here as they can reasonably be at Hogwarts. And Scorpius wants it, too. He’s fantasised so many times about sucking Albus’s cock, even though he’s fairly sure the reality will be a bit more awkward than his dreams.
Scorpius nods. “Okay. Yeah. Let’s – should we take our robes off?”
Albus’s eyebrows shoot up. They’re nose to nose, and it’s all Scorpius can do not to pull him into another kiss. Merlin, he loves him so much.
“I want you now,” Albus whispers.
Fuck. He pulls Albus in for another kiss, tangling his fingers in his dark, messy hair. He slides his other hand between them to unfasten their belts. He fumbles a bit here, but with Albus’s help, they manage to get both of their cocks out.
Albus wraps his hand around both of them; Scorpius throws his head back to curse. It feels so good; so much better than his own hand.
“Shit,” Albus says. “D’you remember that charm?”
Scorpius nods and casts the basic lubrication charm, and then it’s even better. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
“I love you,” Scorpius breathes as Albus strokes them together.
“Love you, too,” Albus says, leaning in to kiss him.
Albus starts going faster, holding them a bit tighter, and before Scorpius knows it, he’s coming all over his robes – and so is Albus.
Albus wipes his hand on Scorpius’s robes and lays there on top of him.
“That was fucking brilliant,” he says, resting his forehead against Scorpius’s.
“Yeah,” Scorpius agrees. He doesn’t think about how they have to clean up, or how surely their prefect is looking for them, or that they’re going to go back to their dormitory to even more relentless teasing than normal.
He’s thinking about Albus. How much he loves him. How good that felt.
How he’s just had sex.
He definitely didn’t think he’d lose his virginity on a desk in a spare classroom, but here he is.
He doesn’t regret it one bit.
Scorpius pulls Albus in for another kiss. When Albus pulls away, Scorpius takes his clean hand in his, bringing it up to his lips for a kiss.
“I really fucking love you, Scorp. I can’t believe we’ve got winter holidays tomorrow.”
The words just spill out. “Come visit. My dad won’t mind; he likes you.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I mean, your parents will probably want to see you for the actual holidays, but yeah. It’s always quiet at home, anyway.”
“Can I spend the night?” Albus asks, pitching his voice low.
Scorpius’s heart starts to race. At his house, they would actually have privacy. “I’ll ask. My dad’ll probably agree; I don’t think he’d mind even if he knew we were dating, but he definitely won’t before we tell him.”
Albus sighs. “I just want everyone to know and get over it without having to tell them.”
“I know what you mean,” Scorpius says, squeezing his hand. “But we’ll sort it out. We’ve already done so much together, after all. Our families know we’re a package deal by this point. I don’t even think my dad’ll be surprised. Just, you know, maybe a little exasperated that he might have to put up with your dad.”
Albus laughs. “Family dinners might get a bit awkward, yeah. But it’ll be worth it.”
“Yeah,” Scorpius agrees. “It will be.”
Scorpius’s dad agrees to let Albus stay over with only minor grumbling about having to clear it with Albus’s dad. Even though his dad likes Albus well enough – and mostly, Scorpius thinks, because Albus makes him happy – he still hasn’t managed more than strained civility with Albus’s dad.
Which is something Scorpius can worry about later.
When he thinks about the future, he knows he wants Albus always by his side. He’d like to say that it doesn’t matter how, but the truth is… lately, he’s been unable to stop thinking about maybe getting to marry Albus someday.
(He knows better than to say that to Albus; it might scare him out of any kind of romantic relationship at all, and Scorpius certainly doesn’t want that.)
Albus arrives early during the beginning of a snowstorm, and he brings Scorpius in for a tight hug straightaway.
“Come on,” Scorpius says, “I’ll show you to my room!”
This isn’t the first time Albus has ever been over his house, but it’s still not a very common occurrence (see: the their parents still pretty much hating each other thing).
The thing is, Scorpius has been to Malfoy Manor, and it’s pretty weird knowing that his dad grew up like that when he chose this place.
But Scorpius likes his house. He likes his room.
He just doesn’t like how empty it still feels without his mum.
He tries not to think about that, though; especially not with Albus there. He shakes the thought from his head; the next forty-eight hours are about himself and Albus. Together.
And then after that, he’ll spend a couple days with his dad, and then go down to Albus’s house and deal with all of his siblings. It won’t be too bad; Lily’s okay, and Albus’s mum likes Scorpius. It’s just Albus’s dad and James.
But that’s later.
Right now, Albus is shutting the door and kissing him within an inch of his life.
“I’ve missed you so much,” Albus says when he pulls away.
“I’ve missed you, too.”
Then Albus is reaching for their belts, and, oh. Scorpius scrambles to help him. This time, Scorpius starts stripping Albus down entirely.
He really didn’t like having to clean their come off his robes.
Fortunately, Albus doesn’t seem to mind. He pulls at Scorpius’s clothes, and Scorpius nudges them toward the bed.
Sex is pretty amazing, as it turns out. People really weren’t kidding about that.
He’s seen Albus in varying stages of undress before, but there’s something different about it this time. He thinks it’s probably normal for it to feel different – now there’s a promise of sex on the table that was never there before.
The words come out of Scorpius’s mouth unplanned.
“I want to suck you off.”
Albus blinks. “Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I mean – I don’t know whether it’ll be any good, obviously, because I’ve never done it before, but I want to.”
“Okay.” Albus looks a bit nervous, like he’s the one about to have someone’s cock in his mouth.
Scorpius sinks down to his knees. Albus is half hard already. Scorpius strokes him; Albus shivers and moans.
After a second’s thought, Scorpius reaches for his wand and locks the door and casts a series of privacy charms. The last thing he wants is for his dad to overhear – or worse, walk in.
Then he turns back to the task at hand. It’ll be a bit of a challenge, he thinks, but he’s always liked a challenge.
He leans in and takes the head of Albus’s cock in his mouth. It doesn’t taste quite like he expects, but Albus buries his fingers in Scorpius’s hair, so he can’t be doing poorly. Scorpius tries to take him in deeper, but stops before he gags.
It’s actually sort of weird to feel Albus’s cock hardening in his mouth; it’s making Scorpius hard himself.
He wraps a hand around the base of Albus’s cock and starts to stroke him as he sucks and bobs his head. Really, he’s not sure what else he’s meant to be doing, but Albus is murmuring all sorts of things – curses and endearments and Scorpius’s name and more and yes. Scorpius keeps up at it.
“Fuck, Scorp, I think I’m close.”
Scorpius knows he could stop. Albus wouldn’t mind.
But he keeps going until Albus comes in his mouth. Scorpius tries to swallow as much as he can, but he doesn’t quite succeed.
Albus flops back on the bed. “Fuck,” he says. “Scorp, that was amazing.”
Scorpius can’t help but grin. “Good! I mean – I’m glad you liked it. I liked it, too.”
He climbs up on the bed beside him. Albus rakes his gaze over Scorpius’s body, lingering on his cock.
“I want you to fuck me,” he whispers.
“Oh,” Scorpius says.
“If you want to wait, or anything –!”
“No,” Scorpius says. “I mean, no, I don’t want to wait. And I remember all the charms from sex ed, so… I think it should be nice.”
Albus nods. “Okay.”
Scorpius casts every charm he can remember, which is maybe a bit overkill, but he doesn’t care. He wants this to be good for Albus.
As he settles in between Albus’s legs, Albus pulls him in for a kiss. “I trust you,” he says.”
Scorpius nods and spreads Albus’s legs. He’s really about to do this.
Albus helps him line his cock up with Albus’s hole, and after making sure Albus is okay, he starts to push in. He knows to go slowly, but Albus hisses and digs his nails into Scorpius’s back, anyway.
“Okay?” Scorpius asks.
Albus nods. “Yeah. I just need a minute, if you don’t mind?”
“Okay,” Scorpius says. He stills and waits for Albus to tell him that it’s okay to go on. He thinks this is the best thing yet; Albus is hot and tight around him, and he loves pushing himself as close to Albus as he can get, Albus’s arms around him, one of his legs hooked over Scorpius’s hip.
He moves slowly until Albus asks him to speed up. He thinks he manages to hit Albus’s prostate, based on the way Albus throws his head back and moans Scorpius’s name, but he’s not entirely sure, because the entire situation is incredibly overwhelming.
He comes inside of Albus, with Albus wrapped around him. He lets himself collapse into Albus’s arms. He doesn’t pull out; the sensation of just being inside Albus is nice, too.
He could really spend the rest of his life this way.
In the morning, Scorpius wakes with Albus curled up in his arms. They had sex again the night before, a few times, and each time was better than the last.
If you ask Scorpius, they’re really getting the hang of this.
Albus rolls over in his arms to kiss him. “Good morning.”
“Good morning!”
Albus strokes his hair and looks deep into his eyes. A lot of people compare Albus’s eyes to his dad’s, but to Scorpius, they’re totally unique. Totally Albus.
“I want to suck you off,” Albus says. “And then we can go eat breakfast and try to act normal around your dad over tea.”
“If you’re sure,” Scorpius teases, because of course Albus is sure. They’re both sure.
This is really something, and Scorpius is so happy he could burst.
Dinner is Albus’s idea. Having their date in a Muggle restaurant is Scorpius’s.
He picks one that seems fancy but still reasonable enough for two teenagers to go out. It’s not like money is really an issue for either of them, but certain fancy places just don’t like teenagers.
They dress in nice Muggle clothes. Scorpius takes the Tube; Albus meets him there. The sight of Albus in a Muggle suit is almost too much. Scorpius wants to drag him into the nearest broom cupboard (or whatever the Muggle equivalent is) and kiss him senseless.
He greets Scorpius with a tight hug and a kiss. “Missed you,” he says.
“Missed you, too.”
“James and Lily are so annoying, and my dad’s on about that stupid bonding bullshit again, and I just want to tell him that it’s not worth it!”
Scorpius hums. He’s tried a lot to repair his relationship with his own dad, and so has Albus, but there are limits.
“I think my dad was pissed off that I went to visit you.”
“If he’s pissed off about that, imagine when he finds out that we’re dating.”
Albus squeezes his hand. “He’ll have to fucking deal.”
They go inside just as it starts to rain. The maître d’ seats them at a table with a linen tablecloth and candles in the centre, and somehow this is a bit overwhelming, too.
It’s Albus who breaks the tension by snorting. “This is weird, isn’t it?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, yeah, we’re boyfriends, but we’re best friends. It’s weird that we feel awkward on a fancy date. It’s not like we don’t know each other better than anyone else.”
“That’s true.”
Albus opens his mouth to say something else, then he freezes and hides his face with the menu. “Shit. Fuck.”
“What?” Scorpius turns around to see what he was looking at.
He sees his dad. With a man about the same age, with curly hair and what Scorpius can recognise immediately as expensive clothes.
What could his dad be doing in a Muggle restaurant?
“Scorp!” Albus hisses, but it’s too late.
His dad sees him. Makes eye contact. Looks over at Albus, who is doing a truly terrible job of hiding himself.
Then, to Scorpius’s horror, his dad starts walking over. “Scorpius.”
“Dad.”
Sometimes he thinks it’s weird how much he looks like his dad; he knows it, too.
“And Albus,” Scorpius’s dad says.
“Hi, Mr. Malfoy.”
“Potter’s kid?” the other man asks, and Albus stiffens.
To Scorpius’s surprise, his dad says, “Scorpius’s best friend. Though I wonder…”
“We’re dating,” Scorpius blurts out. “But you can’t tell Albus’s dad. He’ll lose his mind. We’re going to tell him later.”
His dad frowns. “Why would I ever tell Albus’s father anything? For the record, though – we’re going to have a talk tonight. Not about that,” he adds when Scorpius opens his mouth. “You know I just want you to be happy – but that’s no reason for me not to reiterate certain points that may have escaped you in your youth.”
A sex talk, then. Fine. Scorpius can deal with that.
He looks at the man next to his dad, then back at his dad. “I just want you to be happy, too, you know.”
His dad manages a small smile. “Thank you. We’ll talk about this when you get home.”
Scorpius nods. “Okay.”
His dad nods at him then walks back to the maître d’.
“That was weird,” Albus says.
“Yeah. But it was nice.”
“The real problem is going to be my dad. Mum’ll be fine, I think, but Dad…”
“We’ll sort it out together.” He reaches for Albus’s hand and squeezes it.
Albus smiles. “Yeah. Together.”
