The first time I saw her was at an interview for entertainment weekly. She was dressed somewhere between formal and casual, it fitted her and I thought to myself: she was a really good looking woman.
She stood behind the camera next to another guy, pointing at the display and explaining something to him and then gesticulating at the chairs where the interview would take place.
I, for my part, already took a seat, so they could touch up my face with some makeup.
She looked at me, then back at the camera display before she gave me a thumbs up and mouthed „Looks good.“
At this moment, I wasn’t really sure if she meant the work of her co-worker or me in general, so I just smiled, probably quite awkwardly, at her. That made her laugh.
Soon she walked over to me and reached out to me and greeted me: „Hey, I’m (y/n), and I am your interviewer for today.“
Oh. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting her to ask the question, I thought she worked in a higher position, I guess.
But in retrospect, the interview was great. She made sure I was okay with the questions asked, if I wanted to avoid any topic or if I had any preferences. And the best thing was, it didn’t feel like an interview at all. It was a nice talk we had, like a friend introduced you to another friend and now you get to know each other.
She was funny and easy going, made me laugh and she laughed wholeheartedly about my jokes.
Her laugh filled me with some kind of warmth and her smile dampened my nervousness.
I even thought back to this interview with a smile a few days later.
