Valentina and Ameila are sitting down in the school’s forum just on their phones and sharing earbuds while listening to music and waiting for their class to start when Valentina says something.
“I want you to meet my sisters.”
“Huh.”
“I want you to meet my sisters.” Valentina says while looking at a confused Ameila.
“Didn’t you say your only sibling was Rafael. Which I already met.”
“Yes he’s my only actual blood sibling but we have four older sisters, they aren’t actually but they feel like our older sisters. And I want you to meet them, that is if you are ok with it.”
“Oh.” Amelia is thinking about it and the next thing she says is quite so that no one else can hear but Valentina.
“How do you know them?”
“Our parents are long time friends so we become friends but we all felt more like siblings to each other.”
“When you say long time friends do you mean like really long time friends, are they vampires as well.” Ameila says while sitting up straighter. (well as straight as she can being gay)
“Yes they are. And before you ask, they are older both as actual age and vampire age.” Ameila just nods and is thinking for a bit before saying.
“Ok. You have to meet my sister too and you already know about her, so tell me a bit about ur sisters”
“I would love to meet your sister. Ok so like I said there's 4 of them, Shannon, Mary, Lilith and Beatrice. They all got adopted so they are all sisters but Mary and Shannon, their girlfriends, have been for a while now. Shannon is the oldest and she’s like our third mom. Then Mary, she can be like a mom but not a lot of the time. We also call her shotgun Mary cause she likes them and she drinks a lot. Then there's Lilith, she looks scary but really she is a big softie. Her and Beatrice are the closest and they originally came from a rich family so they have that in common which got them closer. Beatrice is the youngest and she is awesome. She owns a book cafe and actually me and Raf work there part time. She also works too much and I'm trying to get her to get more help so that she can take some time off.”
“They all sound cool and I can't wait to meet them but I'm a little nervous now.” Ameila says while fiddling with her rings and valentina just grabs her hands to stop her.
“You don’t have to be, they will love you.” Valentina say while smiling at Amelia.
“And so will my sister.” Amelia and valentina stare at each other for a bit longer before talking about when and where they should meet each other's sisters.
Cats cradle is a two story book cafe with the first floor is the cafe. The walls are lined with bookshelves and there are a few tables and chairs that people can sit at. Beside the entrance there’s the counter where you can order drinks and food, you can also buy books. Beside the counter there’s stairs that go up to the second floor where it’s filled with bookshelves that have books you can buy or borrow to read while there. Also on the second floor is where Beatrice’s office is, which is where she is now putting away her stuff and getting ready to open up the store.
When Beartice gets downstairs she sees Hans already walking through the door.
“Good morning Hans.” Hans who hadn’t seen her jumps.
“Jesus Bea!, you gotta stop doing that. I swear one of these days i'm going to get a heart attack geez.” Beatrice does a small laugh.
“Sorry.”
“It's fine, I'm sure one day I will get used to it. Also good morning to you as well.”
Beatrice and Hans start up all the machines and lights, refill the things that need it. Beatrice starts baking and Hans puts down the chairs from the tables and opens up the shop.
Two hours later Hans is at the counter serving a couple of customers while Beatrice is in the kitchen cleaning up when she gets a text.
Valentina: Good morning Bea
What you up to today?
Beatrice: Good morning
I’m going to be at the cafe the whole day today.
Valentina: You know you should hire more people so you, Lili and Hans don’t have to work as much as you guys do. Specifically you.
Beatrice: Yes and like every other time you tell me this I am ok with it.
I like working here and I give them regular time off.
Valentina: Yeah but you should get some time off too. You deserve some time off.
Promise me that you will think about it.
Please 🥺
Beatrice: Ok I will think about it.
Now shouldn’t you be in class it’s 9:40.
Valentina: Yes but we are not doing anything in class right now. Besides, I wanted to ask you something.
You remember when I told you about this girl in my class that I had a crush on.
Beatrice: Yes I do. You were always talking about her. Ameila was her name right.
Valentina: Yes that’s her name and i wasn’t always talking about her
Beatrice: Yea you were.
So what about her
Did something happen?
Valentina: Yes
She’s my girlfriend now and i want you, lili, mary, and shan to meet her first
Well after Raef cause he already knows.
Beatrice: That’s awesome and we would love to finally meet her after hearing about her almost nonstop.
When can we meet her?
Valentina: Ok i talk about her a lot but its not nonstop.
I was hoping for you guys to meet her today cause i’m also meeting her sister so i was thinking we could just go to the cafe and do a whole meeting thing there.
Plus her and her sister have never been there before so I thought it would be cool to bring them.
Beatrice: Sure whatever you say.
But that’s a good idea, me and lili will be here and i’m sure mary and shan are free today to come as well.
Valentina: Yea!! Thank you
We will come after school Raf will probably tag along

Beatrice: He better come he has a shift today.

Beatrice looks at the clock and sees that it’s almost 10am and that Lilith should be here in half an hour so she will just tell her about Valentina when she gets here. Beatrice goes back to her phone to text Mary and Shannon.
Ava is on her college campus walking to her class when she gets a message from her little sister.
Ameila: Hey!

Ava: Hey I should be calling you that. I’m the older sibling
Ameila: Yeah but you're the shorter one so it works.
Ava: You're not that much taller than me.
Ameila: Still taller
Anyways you remember valentina the girl i have a crush on.
Ava: How could i forget you talk about her a lot so i never forget.
But what happened with her? Does she like you back?
Ameila: Ok so what if i talk about her a lot you would do the same.
And yes she does like me back actually she’s my girlfriend now 😁
Ava: i would not do the same also yes!!! I’m happy for you!!
She better make you happy and treat you right.
Ameila: she does make me happy and treats me good
Ava: good.
So when do I get to meet her?
Ameila: Well that's actually why I'm texting you. I wanted to know if you were free later today around 4:30.
Ava: I don’t think i’m doing anything then why? Do I get to meet her today!
Ameila: yes that's the plan but you're not just meeting her. It will be her little brother and her “older sisters''
As Ava is reading the message her sister sent she got another from Yasmine asking where she is cause class is about to start in a couple of minutes and she’s not there. That's when Ava realizes the time and that she will have to run to class to try to make it on time so she sends a quick text to Yas saying she is running right now before texting her sister.
Ava: ok that’s cool i have to go now. i have to run to class or i'm going to be late
Just send me where we are meeting and I will make sure to get there.
Ameila: 😆 of course your late to class and yep i will send it to you later
Ava: Hey, I'm not late yet.
Needless to say even though she ran to her class Ava was still a couple of minutes late.
Beatrice is in her office at her desk going through her paperwork when she hears the bell on the front door telling her that her little siblings are here. Beatrice with her super hearing can hear them walk in and start talking to Hans.
“Hey Hans, where’s our big sisters?” Rafael greets Hans.
“Hey you two or shouldn’t I say three. Hi there.” Valentina smiles and says.
“Hans met my girlfriend Amelia. Amelia meet Hans. He works here with my sisters and he’s also a family friend.” Amelia and Hans shack their hands and smile to each other.
“Hello it's nice to meet you, i have heard quite a bit about you.” Hans says while Ameila blushes.
“It’s nice to meet you too.”
“Your two sisters should be around here.” Hans says as he gestures around the strore.
“Hello” Beatrice says as she appears out of nowhere behind them. Amelia who never heard her come down jumps and yelps while turning around and puts a hand on her heart and tries to calm her racing heart. Meanwhile Valentina and Rafael just turn around and say hi and give her a hug. Valentina goes back to stand beside Ameila and stars rubbing her back, and asks Beatrice.
“Where's lili? I want both of you here to-“
“I’m here. I was just in the back” Lilith says as she’s going around the counter. Amelia gets a bit scared again and then when she actually see Lilith she gets intimidated and tries to hide behind valentine but instead she just holds her hand and says.
“Beatrice, Lilith this is my girlfriend Amelia.” Beatrice who saw Amelia try to hide says.
“Hello, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Amelia. Also don’t be scared of Lilith, she may look scary but she’s really just a softie.” She and Amelia shake hands and then Beatrice elbows Lilith who just glares at Beatrice. Lilith then shakes Amelia's hand and then says.
“I thought we were meeting two people. So where’s the other one.”
“My older sister texted me that she is running late. She should be here soon though.” Amelia says as she has calmed down from being scared.
Beatrice just nods her head and says.
“Our other sisters should be here soon as well.” She then gestures for them to take a seat and asks them what they want to drink. When the three high schoolers tell her what they want they go to sit down. While Hans and Beatrice get started on their drinks, Lilith waits at the counter. When they finish the high schoolers and Lilith's drinks Rafael helps Lilith bring the drinks to the table. Beatrice and Hans go to the back room to stock up on some supplies that are running low.
As Amelia and Valentina are talking and Lilith and Rafael are on their phones, Ava comes in and looks around for her sister. When she sees her Ava goes to her and Amelia sees Ava and gets up to give her a hug.
“You made it.”
“Of course I made it. I finally get to meet this girlfriend that you talk so much about.” Ava says and Amelia starts blushing while Valentina has a big smile.
“So you talk about me a lot huh.” With that Amelia is blushing even more but then starts laughing with what lilith says.
“you shouldn’t be talking Val. You talk about Amelia a lot as well.” Valentina knows that if she could she would probably be blushing right now.
“Ava this is my girlfriend Valentine, and her brother Rafael, and her one sister lilith. Guys this is my older sister Ava.”
“Hi it's nice to meet you guys.” Ava says while smiling and shaking hands with Valentina and Rafael and tries to with Lilith but she just stares at her and then Ava retracts her hand and thinks ok so not a hand shaker then.
“Sorry about her, she's just like that with new people.” Valentina says.
“Oh that's ok.” Ava says while she takes off her bag and puts it on her chair.
“Amelia told us that you have never been here before. You should go up and get a drink. Everything here is really good.” Rafael says.
“Oh also our other sister is also up there.” Valentina adds. Ava just nods and says ok while heading up.
When Ava gets to the counter no one is there, then the door to the back room opens and Hans comes out and holds the door open for Beatrice who is holding a few boxes. When Ava sees Beatrice she can’t help but think how pretty she is and when they catch each other's eyes they both stop and just stare at each other and they can hear their hearts beating fast.
They both think how beautiful the other is and they both get lost in each other’s eyes.
Beatrice can hear the other girl's heart beating real fast and can’t help but think of how sweet the girl's blood must be, but as quick as that thought came in her mind it went away just as quick as she got lost in her mesmerizing eyes.
Ava takes in the other girl's face and sees that she has these adorable freckles and beautiful eyes that just pull her in.
After a few seconds but what felt like hours to Ava and Beatrice, Hans clears his throat loud enough that it breaks the trance the girls were in and they both look away from each other. Beatrice goes back to stocking up the supplies while Hans goes over to Ava and asks what Ava's order is.
