"First timers?"
"Is it that obvious?"
It... really is. Not only do the three kids look pretty out of place among all the glitter, leather and neon lights, but Ramona has been at these parties for years and they've never seen them around. They are a bit of an odd group, two blondes, the first wearing all black clothes, the second, with a cute short haircut and a green dress under a jacket. They don't look like the type who would have much in common and yet, the second kid has their arms resting atop the other's shoulders. They seem close. The third kid, however–
"Oh my God, are you the baseball gay?"
"Guilty," He holds a hand out, which Ramona shakes. "I'm Cooper Clay, nice to meet you"
"So nice to meet you! I'm Ramona. She/They."
The the two blondes look at each other, then the taller one steps forward.
"I'm Janae. They/she/he"
"Love." They smile.
"I think we are gonna need to elevate these outfits", Ramona says, then moves to take Janae by the hand. He exitedly takes their friend's hand, who in turn tugs Cooper along with them.
As they me their way through the dancing crowd, Cooper seems to spot someone he knows and breaks away from the group. Even then, Janae and her friend never break contact. Interesting.
When they arrive at the area of the warehouse now designated as a makeshift costume department, Ramona dramatically pushes the two in.
"All right, sweethearts, might as well make you look stand out!", They say. They start looking for the makeup kept back here while her new acquaintances look around the place.
"Stand out?" The blonde (Ramona really needs to get their name) asks.
"Don't worry, you'll look great! Promise."

"So, what made you guys decide to come here?"
"Well, we... I guess we wanted to try things out, while we still can...", the girl, Addy, responds while Ramona does her makeup.
"While you...?"
"Also! Coop's boyfriend is here, we were mostly just wingmen. You know?", Janae cuts in.
"Oh, his boyfriend?"
"Well, mostly"
"Got it"
With that R takes a step back. "Ok Addy, all done".
Janae blinks slowly. "Wow, Ads, you... definitely don't look like an asshole anymore"
Addy laughs at that. Must be an inside joke.
Anyways, she really does look great if Ramona says so themself. She is now wearing a black harness over her dress, paired with hoop earings and a bunch of necklacess. What really catches the eye, though, is the glitter. Addy is covered with it all over her soulders and arms and in her eye makeup.
"Well, your turn Jay. Maybe you'll even look good."
"Pfft, tough chance".
"Now, you know you're not allowed to say that about yourself".
Yeah, there is definitely someting there.
Cute, Ramona thinks.

As they wait for Janae to come out from behind a curtain in the back (he really wanted a dramatic entrance it seems), Ramona tries to get to know Addy better.
"So, Janae..."
"Yeah, they're pretty great"
"What's the deal with you two?"
"What do you mean?" Addy seemed perplexed. "What's...", she trails off.
Ramona turned to see Janae.
"So, I guess I don't looks completely ridiculous", they say.
Addy only nods.
"Alright, then, let's go! Thanks, Ramona"
"Yeah, thank you! We look great."

When they are done with the makeovers, they head back to the dance floor and split up. Ramona was always glad to help young queers out in any way. And they did help. They couldn't miss the way Addy looked at Janae when she came out of the "dressing room". Janae was wearing spikey black makeup and even more black accesories, including a pair of glittery angel wings Addy herself picked out.
( "C'mon Jay, you have to wear this."
"No I don't."
"You really do."
"..."
"You'll look so cute! Please."
"Fine"
"It'll look great. I promise")
Ramona didn't know what the deal between them was, but she sure hoped they figured it out.
