Work Text:
It was on days like today when Noctis wished he had paid more attention in all of Ignis’s tutoring lessons while he was still a prince. If he had done so he might have had at least a vague understanding as to what the hell the council were rabbiting on about!
He did try to listen to them, he really did, but when he had to sit there listening to a bunch of older men and women arguing about the same drivel for hours upon end he lost all of his focus. Or sometimes, like today, they were discussing so many topics that it was hard for Noctis to keep up. One moment they were arguing about trade deals with the other three nations of Eos only to suddenly jump to discussing how to rebuild Galahd and how they would ensure that they maintained their independence. Before Noctis had a chance to comment on the matter the council had changed the subject entirely and moved on to the matter of dismantling Lucian faith in the six! It was too much for his poor tired and stressed mind to comprehend that he began to nod off. Thankfully, Gladiolus and Ignis were sitting either side of him, as they always did at every council meeting, to give him a small kick from underneath the table whenever it was required of them to keep him awake.
Honestly, Noctis had no idea what he would do without his shield and advisor by his side. Unlike him, they could actually focus in these meetings, they could follow the conversation, they always knew what to say when any member of the council had doubts about his ability to lead the kingdom and they were always there to explain matters to him if he felt he was struggling.
And… he seemed to be struggling a lot lately.
He was under such an enormous amount of pressure and stress to live up to his dad’s legacy, to be the king that not only Lucis needed, but what Eos needed too.
More often than not he felt he could never be as great as his dad. That he would never gain the council’s approval and earn their respect like his dad had done over his 27-year reign. He still thought the world of the man who raised him, loved him and did his best to not only protect him from his fate, but also made very difficult decisions to ensure that the least amount of lives were lost in the chaos of Bahamut’s disgusting plan.
When the council compared him to the greatness that was Regis Lucis Caelum, it didn’t help matters.
Especially not today; not when the stress and pressure of it all was getting to him.
By the time this long six-hour meeting was over, Noctis had a splitting headache and all he wanted to do was retire to his rooms for the rest of the night and sleep until morning. Thankfully, Gladio and Ignis saw his distress and granted him his wish and as quick as his legs would carry him he made his way back to his rooms.
He needed to relax. He needed to unwind and put this horrible day and all his negative thoughts behind him. When he arrived, he knew he was going to be greeted by two of the most perfect people he had ever met.
His beautiful Queen, Lunafreya.
And his equally adoring Prince Consort, Prompto.
“My dear Noctis.” Luna smiled, making her way over to him in order to greet him properly.
As she approached, Noctis closed the door and he couldn’t help but think how stunning she looked. She had her beautiful golden hair down, draped over her shoulder. All her makeup had been taken off for the night allowing him to see her natural glow and she was wearing her violet silk knee-length dressing gown that Prompto had brought her for her birthday. She looked amazing. She was amazing. His amazing wife who he wouldn’t dream of running this kingdom without.
As soon as she was in arm’s length, he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her in close.
“Where have you been?” She asked sweetly, planting a small kiss on his cheek. “We thought your meeting finished over an hour ago.”
“Sorry.” He muttered through a tired yawn. “It ran over. Again.”
“That’s okay.” She said softly, placing her hand onto his chest, directly where his heart was. “We missed you, that's all.”
“Yeah, well I missed you too.” Noctis returned the smile, quickly catching his lips with his wife’s.
If he wasn’t so tired he could very easily stand here for the rest of the evening holding her close and kissing her. He felt kinda guilty for his exhaustion, he should be giving his wife and husband the attention they deserved, not wanting to sleep as soon as he finished work.
Stupid council meeting. He thought to himself pulling away from their kiss.
“Where’s the sunshine?” Noctis asked, a little confused as to why Prompto hadn’t come running to greet him. They hadn’t seen each other all day and their Prom became rather pouty when he didn’t get enough attention.
“He is in the bedroom.” Luna told him, shifting her body so she could take ahold of his hand. “Shall we go and see him?”
“Probably best that we do.” Noctis agreed, trying his hardest to fight off yet another yawn as Luna led him towards their bedroom. “I need a rest after the long day I’ve had.”
“I bet you do, My King, and that is what you shall have.”
Dragging his feet across the floor, they made it over to their bedroom and when Luna opened the door he was welcomed to a very pleasing sight. On their super-king-sized bed lay Prompto, wearing that white laced floor-length dressing gown - the same one he wore on their wedding night - that was undone so Noctis could get a clear visual of his beautifully toned body; as well as the matching lace underwear covering up his husband’s modesty.
Noctis chuckled to himself, Prom always liked to wear lingerie to bed; not that he was in any way complaining. His and Luna’s Prompto was just very needy in nature and this display certainly proved that.
“Hey, sweetheart.” Noctis said, quickly going over to the bed in case Prom pounced on him because if they fell to the floor Noct knew he wouldn’t be able to get back up again. “Did you miss me?”
“You bet, dude!” Prompto nodded, sitting up so he could kiss Noctis fully on the mouth. “Luna and I have been dying for you to come to bed all afternoon.”
“I am glad to hear I am so loved.” Noctis smirked, slipping off his shoes before joining Prompto on the bed.
The moment his head hit the comfortable fluffy pillows his already tired eyes grew heavier. He let his body sink into the mattress below, deciding to not bother in getting dressed for he didn’t want to move from this spot. In fact, with how tired he felt he doubted he could move at all. This was exactly what he needed. He needed a nice long relaxing sleep without any interruptions.
Before he could get his wish he felt the bed dip near his head and within a matter of seconds, his head and shoulders were carefully lifted up from the mattress, only to be placed back down again. However, he was not placed down back on the pillow, instead felt a silk-like material touch his cheek and sharp nails began to massage his scalp. Just from the touches alone, he could tell it was Luna giving him this goddess-like treatment. He loved it when she did this for him.
“Oh, our poor king.” Luna cooed, running her long fingers through his hair as she sat behind him with her back up against the headboard. “You feel so tense, my love. That awful council meeting must have been so gruelling for you.”
Keeping his eyes closed, Noctis let out a small grunt to confirm her words and simply allowed himself to enjoy this wonderful head massage.
“What you need is to relax and be relieved from all this unnecessary stress.”
“Yeah, we hate to see you like this, Noct.” Prompto said.
The king still had his eyes closed so he couldn’t make out exactly where his adorable consort was but he still lazily outstretched his hand in the hopes that Prom would take it. If he was going to sleep and relax properly he would like to have both his wife and husband by his side. They brought such warmth into his life and sleeping next to them was something he always looked forward to at the end of each and every day.
Prompto, however, did not take his hand.
Instead, Noctis felt a pair of warm hands make their way up to his thighs and begin to massage the soft flesh through his trousers. When he felt Prompto squeeze his thighs, digging his nails into them, the king couldn’t control the small moan that escaped past his lips.
“You just gotta relax.” Prompto told him, moving his hands upwards again so that his fingers barely touched his groin area. “Let go and live in the moment.”
A few more tiny pleasurable gasps left the tired king and with Prompto touching him like this and Luna giving him a wonderful head massage, Noctis felt his body begin to warm. He felt so relaxed and so calm that he could no longer fight to stay awake. Tilting his head to the side, he allowed himself to drift off in what he was certain was going to be the best sleep of his life.
“Oh.” Luna laughed quietly as soon as Noctis’s faint snores filled the air. She bent down and planted a small kiss on the top of his head. “He really must have been tired.”
“Yeah…” Prompto sighed with a slither of disappointment behind his words, moving his hands away from Noct’s unbuttoned trousers.
Luna understood her husband’s disappointment. They had been waiting for Noctis to return for hours so they could ruin him on their bed. Damned those council meetings. She was going to have a word with Ignis and Gladiolus tomorrow about how they had left Noctis so exhausted. It wasn’t fair on him to be feeling this way and it certainly wasn’t fair on her or Prompto either. For they hardly spent any time with Noctis these days unless it was a royal engagement.
“We better let him sleep, sunshine.” Luna said, still running her fingers through her king’s raven hair. “In the morning we can show him how much we love him.”
“Deal.”
