“Goddamn it,” murmured Todoroki under his breath. Just what he needed, for Shoto’s brother to attack his class and summer camp and for him and his stupid boyfriend to kidnap his classmate.
Midoriya’s hospital room was clean and sterile, white all over the place, and Shoto felt like dying right there and then. He might not be particularly close to them but he knew his classmates, his friends, and they would absolutely try to get Bakugou back by their own means, which meant they wanted to face Touya and Shigaraki, all on their own without truly knowing the consequences of that.
Touya or Dabi had tried to recruit Shoto, they had approached him the first day of class, Shoto had been so shocked to not only face a villain for the first time but also because he was seeing his dead brother, or maybe not so dead after all. He had not been able to say no the first time, because even though he knew he wanted to be a hero more than anything, he had wanted to go against everything that was his father even more. He had debated it and Shoto didn’t even know if he could one day forgive himself for that.
Dabi had come the day after that, knocking on his door when everyone was out, he had wanted to hug him, to run after Touya like he had once done, looking up at his older brother, but he was cruelly reminded that no, this wasn’t Touya, this was Dabi, a villain, and even if Dabi didn’t intend to hurt him he intended to hurt someone and now that someone was Bakugou, who had to suffer at the hands of his brother.
Guilt crawled up his throat. If he had just said something, like he was supposed to, tell on Dabi, but he had felt like a little child thinking about that, like a younger sibling accusing his older brother, even when he knew Dabi could never act as an older brother. He hadn’t wanted to lose Touya again, not after all these years of him knowing he was alive.
So he had kept quiet, denied the proposal and went on with his life. Now it was time to pay the consequences. Dabi, he had given him a paper, an address to look for him if Shoto even changed his mind, so he decided it was time to act on that. To just go. He couldn’t tell anybody because, how do you explain having a villain's address? More so, how do you explain having a villain as a brother?
He parted ways from the hospital and started walking towards the “house”, he supposed it was a house, where the league of villains had Bakugou. And it was stupid, he thought to himself, that he was going to the league of villains to meet his brother, to ask, no, to beg them to let go of his friend. How had it come to this? What was he even supposed to say to them when he got there?
Turns out it wasn’t a house, that maybe was too much to ask of them, it was a bar, a shitty one at that. He knocked on the door and a girl opened.
“Shoto!” she screamed, grabbing his wrist and dragging him inside. He could already feel this was a bad idea, I mean, he didn’t even have a plan to begin with. She dragged him to the rest of the group, there was Shigaraki, and other people who he didn’t know the names of, and there, low and behold, was his brother. And Bakugou, who was tied up and brooding. He could understand him, he wouldn’t have liked to be in his position, brother in charge or not.
“Huh?” said Dabi as he turned around and then he saw him. An annoyed look passed his face, ‘me too’ Shoto thought, the last thing he wanted to do now was see his villain brother. “Why did you let him come in?” he asked
“I didn’t let him just come in, I dragged him here, I swear you brothers are the same, never take the initiative with people” said the girl.
“Brothers?” yelled Bakugou, who had been apparently listening in on the conversation. Everyone ignored him in favor of Shigaraki who stood up and made his way to Shoto.
“Little bro,” Shigaraki said, behind one of the hands.
Shoto looked up to him and rolled his eyes “Shigaraki” he said.
“Please,” said Shigaraki “call me Tomura, we’re like family, or something”
“Hey, that’s unfair, you never let me call you that!” screamed the girl from behind him.
“Are you the brother of my boyfriend?” Shigaraki, or Tomura said, it was getting really complicated with the names, wasn’t it?, “I don’t think so, so I remain Shigaraki to you”
“Why are you here?” Dabi asked, taking a step towards him.
“To get him back,” Shoto said, pointing at Bakugou, who just said ‘huh?’.
“Nice joke, Sho, now come on, why are you here?” Dabi repeated the question.
“I said, to get him back”
“You can’t be this stupid” said Dabi lowly covering his face with his hand.
“ You can’t be this stupid, why did you think I came here?” asked Shoto.
“To join?” asked the girl.
“No” said Shoto right away.
“Aww come on, we can never have anything good” moaned the girl throwing her hands in the air and walking somewhere else.
“Now, give him to me”
“Hey, don't treat me like I’m some sort of thing,” yelled Bakugou.
“Shut up, Bakugou” said Shoto, looking past Shigara- Tomura and straight into Bakugou 's eyes.
“Come on Dabi, why do you even want him?”
“Yeah, why do we want him?” asked the girl.
“Shut up, Toga,” someone said from behind. So that was her name.
“God are all blondes this stupid?” asked Dabi.
“We are not!” Screamed Bakugou. At the same time that Shoto said,
“They’re not”
“Thank you, Shoto-kun,” said Toga, grabbing his arm and squeezing gently.
“What do I have to do for you to let him go?” asked Shoto finally.
“Nothing, cause he’s not leaving,” said Dabi shortly.
“I can take his place, '' offered Shoto simply, because he could, he could not be a member of the league but he could be a prisoner. It didn’t look that hard or whatever.
“No, because you’re not going to join,” said Tomura.
“How do you know?” Shoto asked, turning his head to the side.
“Because you’ve said so you idiot” said Dabi, hitting his head lightly.
“I could change my mind”
“Half n half!” Bakugou screamed, Shoto ignored him.
“Look if you want him only for him to join your little club or something it’s not going to work-” said Shoto.
“Not a club, a league” said Tomura, clarifying, like it mattered.
“-Bakugou is the most obstinate person I know, he has wanted to be a hero since he learned what heroes were, he is not, and i repeat not going to change his mind, now you better find someone else or something because your plan was doomed since the beginning”
“That’s the most I’ve heard him talk, like ever” said Tomura.
“Yeah, me too,” said Dabi.
“Are you two idiots missing the point?” yelled Bakugou from the back.
“Okay, okay I’m letting him go,” said Tomura, finally breaking the silence.
“What?” asked Dabi.
“What? he’s your brother and he asked nicely” he exclaimed, like it made any sense whatsoever.
“Thank you Tomura”
“See? he even calls me Tomura, what a cutie”
—
“So, your brother, huh?” asked Bakugou as they walked out.
“Yeah,” Shoto responded.
“And I thought my family was fucked up”
