Their lips met again and again, soft, sweet murmurs spilling out in between each moment of contact. Neither of them were happy that this had to happen, but the inevitable comes whether we want it or not.
The kisses grew harsher, more desperate, sweet nothings turning into extractions of promises, promises to stay safe and well, promises that they knew the other could not possibly keep, and yet…
The last time she left, she left without a word. Years passed before they reunited, and now, she was about to leave again.
He doesn't know if he'll survive it this time.
