Every day that passed felt unrealistically happy for the two demons. Stolas found the feeling wonderful, though Blitzø was very wary. Happy endings were not something that he ever got.
As they went about their work, Stolas noticed the confused discomfort his partner had, and decided perhaps this was the time to take him, and the girls out. The timing was right, a full moon was due tonight and perhaps if he put things into perspective, Blitzø may finally come to terms with the fact that his life isn’t all doom and gloom. If the Imp could help him in his time of need, then Stolas would do the same for him.
Stolas got things ready while Blitzø was in the office, or possibly on another mission, he wasn’t too sure. Loona and Octavia complained but got things ready, knowing they had little choice, though Loona made a point to say she was only going for Octavia, and they can’t make her do anything because she isn’t a child. Secretly both of them were a little excited for the first trip as an official family though they’d never admit to it.
Blitzø came home, and went straight to shower without a word, covered in blood as usual, and looking annoyed.
“Blitzy dear, when you’re out we have plans. Do put on something comfortable would you?” Stolas called from the bedroom.
Blitzø sighed, cleaned up and got dressed. The hot shower definitely improved his mood, though after a long day of dealing with the fact that he had given Loona the day off, he was definitely more interested in coffee, and curling up to watch ‘Spirit’ again.
“Alright, I am ready. Where are we going? I don’t remember any plans…” Blitzø yawned as he approached Stolas
“Surprise Family trip!” Stolas hooted excitedly as he opened a portal to a country side field, far from any human cities. Loona and Octavia walked through first, anxious to get as far from their fathers as possible.
Blitzø laughed shaking his head “I should have fucking guessed, you always have some elaborate scheme planned don’t you?”
“Naturally” Stolas replied as the two passed into the dark field.
Grass and flowered surrounded them bathed brilliantly in rich moonlight, contrasted by only the starry sky above. The moon was bright and dazzling among the stars. The entire scenery before them serene and breathtaking.
Stolas set out a picnic blanket, and an array of foods and wine, which he had secretly had Moxxie help him learn to prepare. “You seem distracted lately, I figured you could use a small piece of simplicity.” he smiled.
The four of them sat down, Loona and Octavia chatting amongst themselves and ignoring everything else.
“Thank you Stolas.” Blitzø smiled, looking at the food and grabbing a small piece of cake to try. “Mox taught you didn’t he?” He asked curiously
“You’ve caught me. Yes Moxxie did help. I’m not much for cooking, so I had to learn somehow.” Stolas gave a small laugh, shrugging “You know, it’s not been long since you told me to forget about the bad things. You should take your own advice” he added, deciding it’s best just to be upfront.
Blitzø laid back in the grass, gazing at the moon “Yeah I know… it’s just, all of this, it seems fucking impossible.” He replied “I’m not like other imps who have it easy, and can find something to enjoy. Millie and Moxxie found it so easily with each other….. it’s just fucking insane you know, happiness?”
“But it does exist. Like you told me, you’ve been through a lot as well. Just let yourself be happy.” Stolas smiled warmly “You’re allowed to be you know.”
Blitzø nodded “Yeah, I know. It’s just taking time for me to get used to. But these little things you do make it easier” he yawned a little “plus, who could be mad at a beautiful scene like this?” He laughed a little
Stolas nodded in agreement, and poured them both a glass of wine. So many months had passed since he came to live with Blitzø. Every memory still bright in his mind.
Time would pass of course, but every day the two would treasure. That was certain.
“To happily every afters?” Stolas raised his glass a little
“Yeah! You can fucking choke on that world!” Blitzø laughed, finally acting a little more like the firecracker of an imp that he was.
Nothing could end this for them as far as they were concerned. No demon nor man would stand in their way. Demons are allowed Happily ever afters too you know.
