Beach Day

Summary:

Mobius made the mistake of taking the gang to the beach.

Notes:

This is how I remembered Loki ending, what are you all talking about?

Work Text:

The TVA was burned down, the timeline was free, and there was finally time to rest.

"MOBIUS WHAT THE HEL TURN RIGHT YOU ABSOLUTE IDIOT YOU'REGONNAHITCASEY"

Mobius hit a hard right. He knew exactly what he was doing, and he definitely knew that Casey was going to pop up right in the way of his jetski. He was in control of things here, yep.

Loki's grip on his shoulders lightened as the jetski headed back towards the beach.

"You could have killed him!"

"Since when did you care so much about Casey?"

Loki growled as they drifted for a bit. His hands returned to their spot around Mobius' waist, right below his bright orange life jacket.

"I hate you" he huffed as he laid his head on one of his husband's shoulders.

"Love ya too, Lokes"

"Guys look at what I found! I think it's a fish!"

Casey swam up alongside the machine that had nearly decapitated him with a large smile on his face.

He lifted a very shiny looking rock up to the two, looking up at them expectantly.

"Casey, that's is not a fish. That's a rock." Loki deadpanned, looking at him as if he hasn't just attempted to save his life.

"It's close though!" Mobius added, which stopped Casey's smile from completely dropping off his face.

He dove back down, looking quite comical in his soaked work suit and bright pink flippers. No one could convince him to change.

After Casey was a safer distance away (hopefully) the jetski roared back as it headed towards the white beach where everyone else was, Loki waving a hand in the air as if the sound of the engine and the waves it produced didn't announce his presence enough.

Sylvie groaned. She had just been woken up by a very loud and very annoying sound and she was not a morning person. She leant up from her position besides Bea, scowling at the quickly-approaching idiots.

"Just when I thought I'd be able to rest" Bea commiserated, eyes still closed on the striped towels they were laying on.

"I was hoping it would explode. Solve three very annoying problems at once."

Unfortunately, Sylvie rarely got what she wanted.

She fell back down, sunglasses dropping back over her eyes. Maybe if she pretended she was dead they'd leave her alone. Bea wriggled in closer, then fell silent, likely having the same idea.

Fortunately, Loki and Mobius were distracted soon after they landed.

Kid Loki laughed maniacly as he and Croki summoned a massive wave to absolutely drench them.

"Oh you-you have no idea what you've started! " Loki yelled as his fists glowed green and his sent a bigger wave towards the other Loki's. It was one water fight, emphasis on the fight. Mobius couldn't tell if the screams were of excitement or pain, and he did not want to know.

His new tropical shirt, with lots of tiny little brightly coloured jetskis on it was now ruined. Well, the bits not covered by the life jacket were, but he was still upset.

He went to sit down next to Classic Loki, hoping the hot sun would dry his clothes. Classic was well and truly asleep, right on the burning hot sand. Oh well, it won't be his problem when he gets sunburnt.

He reluctantly turned his head towards the battle before him as Sylvie and Bea ran up to join in. Mobius was torn between stopping them and getting some popcorn. It was nice to see a fight without any stakes for once.

The water was whirlpooling towards his Loki, the sea tainted with green magic as Sylvie grinned. Until she was pushed over by a very smug looking Bea, running back into the swell up behind Kid Loki.

"We were supposed to be on the same side!" Sylvie yelled, sending a bolt of magic to knock Bea right into Kid Loki, who lost control of the water. The four people and one alligator were smashed by the wave, and they all washed up on the shore with various pouts and grins. Mobius was just happy his jetski hadn't been hurt.

"We really are one big, weird family, aren't we" Classic Loki commented, sitting up beside Mobius as he nodded, before stopping.

The group was up now, and giggling amongst each other. That wasn't good. They slowly turned towards Mobius and Classic Loki with smiles of pure mischief.

"WAIT! NO! NONONO"

The two scrambled up as the group ran forwards, carrying a chunk of the sea with them. They tried to run, but neither of them were particularly good at sprinting.

The water fell upon them as they were tackled back into the now-wet sand.

They were all giggling on the ground once they came to their senses. Loki pressed a quick kiss to Mobius' nose as he rolled off of him. They all lay there for a bit, in one big tangle of bodies. Classic was right, they were one big, weird, chaotic family.

Casey trudged up the beach, and loomed over them. He looked down at the group, observing them for a bit.

"Are we a fish?"
