Asgore Makes an Among Us AU

Chapter 1: Asgore Publishes his Self-Insert Among Us Fic

"Ho ho ho..It's perfect."

Asgore had done it. He had created the perfect Among Undertale fanfiction where the monsters of the Underground combine with the hit game Among Us to create the best fanfiction in the entire Underground. Alphys would be trembling before him now. For he was..the superior fanfiction creator. 

A pinch of self-insert power fantasy with the crewmate Asgorb saving the day perfectly, a hint of romance between the dark blue crewmate Undyne and the yellow crewmate Alphys, a wee bit of drama with Sans being the impostor and sneaking around, killing people.

He had considered doing angsty fanfic with two not-Underground related crewmates, but he decided not to do that. He needed happiness now especially.

After one last revision, he pressed "Post" and it was there, out for everyone to see.

THE NEXT DAY...

Asgore was tending to his plants. Ah, on a fine day like this, he couldn't help but admire the greenery. The beauty lied in the lovely color of gold these flowers were and the nostalgic memories attached to them. He smiled to himself, looking at his garden. "Even now, these flowers are just as beautiful."

But something rose up in the back of his mind. A question. How many likes did the fanfiction get? He tried to concentrate on gardening, but the thought of the fanfic being admired..Him being hailed as the greatest fanfiction creator in all of the Underground..It was too much. He succumbed to his thoughts and dropped his watering can to go check on his fanfic.

He opened up his computer, and checked on Underground Fanfiction Archive. It had received so, so many likes. Praise.

UndyneIsVeryEpic: yooooo i have to show this to my friends,,, and hopefully i can show Undyne!!

A single comment stuck out to him, though.

ALPHYS: ..What. Is this. I- I'm so. WHAT???

Ah. Alphys. She's utterly boggled by this, isn't she? Yes. He has finally bested her in the realm of fanfiction. He might not be the best person, or the best ruler..But at least he's the best at one thing.

A smile creeps up on his face. But it didn't last for long, as a voice behind him rang out.

"What the HELL has gotten into you?!"

He turned around. It was Undyne. She looked..upset. Distraught, even.

"Ah, Undyne..I..Is there anything wrong?"

He knew exactly what was wrong. He knew why she was mad. But he didn't want to address it.

"Oh, I'll tell you what's wrong..You!"

"Ngah..I LOOKED UP TO YOU!"

"I thought that you were a strong person!"

"I thought you were someone I wanted to be, not.."

"Some LOSER on the Internet!"

He takes a deep breath. "Undyne, I was..never a role model. Even before this fanfiction came out."

He's done awful things. He's taken the lives of 6 innocent children. No one should be looking up to this..foolish old man. A man who trapped himself out of a pitiful rage.

"..Even if you might not think you were, you WERE!"

"You were the one who trained me..Who got me into the Guard..Who even made me the CAPTAIN!"

"That's why I can't let you go down this path. Because the people who care about you..People like me, Alphys, and the whole REST of the Underground too.."

"They need someone STRONG! They need you to be STRONG! So, don't be weak like this, Asgore!"

"Don't become some weirdo who never leaves the castle! I haven't seen you ever since you BEGAN this fanfiction!"

..Sigh. "..Undyne, this brings me..joy. It gives me strength, in its own way. That's why I write these fanfictions. It's a hobby. I know you're scared I may never leave the castle again, but I will! I promise you. So, please. ..How about we go for a cup of tea? It helps the nerves and I'm sure it'll help you calm down." He's trying to defuse the situation. He's hoping it works.

Undyne glared at Asgore for a moment, before closing her eye in an upset way. "..You know what?" She seemed like she was gonna blow up at him, but. "..Sigh. You're right. I shouldn't have lashed out at you for a stupid fanfic. It's the smallest thing, right? No harm in it." She lets out an awkward laugh.

"It's alright. I understand." He looks at her with understanding. "Now, come along. Let's go get some tea."

He starts walking out of New Home, but. She seems to stand in place. He notices this and turns around. "..Undyne? Are you..coming?"

She looks at him sadly. "..Sorry. This is for your own good." She turns around, and starts rushing towards his computer.

"UNDYNE, NO!" He tries to catch up with her, but it's too late. She launches the spear at his computer, and..It hits it, shattering the screen and breaking the computer.

Asgore stares at the sight, reeling back from shock and sadness. ..He collapses to the ground, devastated.

Time stops for him.
