"Skate High" is an international academy that caters but is not limited to educating the world's rising professional ice skaters. Ilya swallowed hard. He wanted so badly to tell the truth.
"Jane," he replied, the lie sliding easily but leaving a bitter taste on his lips.
"Jane. Classic name. Cool," Cliff approved with a nod. "So, is she hot? I know you're all paranoid about privacy and won't show a picture, but, fuck, tell us at least something about the girl!"
The "girl" was gorgeous. The most beautiful person Ilya had ever seen in his entire life. The owner of the best laugh, the warmest and firmest hug, the hands that gave the best head scratches. The man with the most addictive kisses, a breathtakingly sculpted body, expressive brown eyes, and, above all, the most wonderful freckles in the world.
"She has freckles," Ilya murmured, unable to prevent a goofy, lovestruck smile from breaking through his unbothered macho facade.

Ilya’s heart starts to race as he hurriedly shoves his hand inside the rumpled material. Ignoring the exuberant players and their daemons around him, Ilya’s fingertips have barely grazed soft feathers before he’s carefully scooping the tiny body of a sparrow out of his jersey.
“Evie, malysh.” he whispers, horrified.
Shane’s daemon, a tiny sparrow with a mottled mix of brown feathers, lies limp in his hand. She looks so tiny, so fragile like this, that Ilya can’t help but cup his hands protectively around her little body. Running the pad of his thumb gently along her head and back, he tries to coax her awake; though she shivers and pulls her wings back close to her body, she doesn’t wake up.

Tony is half-convinced his attraction to Steve is a pseudo-Freudian, psycho-sexual cosmic joke the universe is playing on him. Natasha enjoys reading them for filth far too much. Clint is a menace with a deck of cards and a popcorn bowl. Bruce is stressed. Thor is proudly in love. Nick Fury and Maria Hill are so done with all of them.There are movie nights, broken tv remotes, and shared breakfasts.
There are tabloid drama mags, invasive journalists, and talk-show ghouls.
There are sleepless nights between Steve and Tony that feel far too intimate to be nothing, and far too vague to be anything more.There's also the monthly Doombot invasion that’s less a threat to Manhattan and more Doctor Doom’s ongoing attempt to court Tony Stark.
That is until Steve tells Doctor Doom that he and Tony are already married.
