The words felt like a stab, despite Mike being the one who allowed them to fall from his mouth.
He hadn’t thought about that night in a long time, not until Will’s confession.
“I don’t like girls.”
The scene was once again ripped from him. Now, he was back in his basement. A well-complimented campaign had ended, yet something lingered grossly in the air. Suffocating.
The whole party had ran upstairs at the promise of food, yet Mike couldn’t find himself following. He stood in front of the shelf, pausing as he put up his book next to Will’s. He watched with such intensity, his thumb lingering over the spines.
