Summary
Wilbur thought that being vulnerable was nothing but a Sisyphean task - impossible, and not worth the effort.
However, when he ends up saving a little white kitten from the arctic blizzards, and finds himself getting attached, he realises he might have stumbled across something worth being weak for.-- Or, after his revival, Wilbur accidentally adopts a therapy kitten.

Summary
“Um, hey,” Ranboo spoke up, before cringing at his own awkward start. “Hi, it’s - it’s me again. Ranboo. Your… neighbour.”
All at once, the colour returned to Wilbur’s eyes as he regained focus. The man blinked once, then twice, almost as if he were being woken from a dream, before his gaze finally settled on his disruptor.
“Oh! Ranboo,” he spoke, voice surprisingly quiet. “It’s late, isn’t it? I didn’t think you’d be awake.”
--
Ranboo spots Wilbur late at night, and decides to try and have a conversation with him - just in case they got off on the wrong foot, you know? It goes as well as you might expect.

Summary
For all it was worth in the end, the original L’Manberg was never all that grand.
Past the rose-tinted nostalgia, it was small and restrictive, ugly and stained with the acrid tang of soot and ash and death. Despite all its flaws, though - despite its burn scars, its crater holes, and its air of destruction, Tommy had never felt like he belonged anywhere more.
--
Tommy reflects on the places he's lived in, and thinks a little too much about his dead "brother". He would like to say that he doesn't miss Wilbur. Evidence points to show otherwise.

Summary
"I never anticipated that I would write in this book.
I’m not the kind of person who is all too fond of keeping personal records, though I’ve always taken an interest in literature. I never expected to find myself in a position where my insight might mean life or death, though. Maybe it’s a good idea to organise my thoughts, just so I don’t forget anything important.
So, I’ll start from where I become relevant.
My name is Wilbur Soot, and I am at the head of the L’Manbergian Revolutionary Army. "

L'Manberg, from its Independence War to its first Elections, told partially through Wilbur's Journal.

Summary
Hybrids are an ancient species of humans crossed with animals, blessed with the favour of nature. They used to live in peace on the SMP’s land, but ever since the dawn of humanity’s modern culture, they have become ostracised and hunted by their once-brethren.
Wilbur Soot is a hybrid, and so is his son, Fundy. The world doesn't like that very much.

“Aha!”
By the time Helia recovers and realises what’s happened, it’s too late. Coralie’s already manically pounding the keyboard.
“Oh no…” As soon as Helia hears that sad-puppy affect, she knows it’s already too late.

Summary
How Neuvillette and Wriothesley met times and times again, in ballrooms, in meeting rooms, working for the future of Fontaine, investigating in its rainy streets or catching a break in between their duties.
And how they fell in love in the process, slowly, absolutely.

Bookmarker's Notes
It was not the first time Neuvillette found himself back in this dead-end corridor, in front of Wriothesley’s portrait.
Yet, he still had no explanation for it.
This time, he noticed the slight scratch crossing the silver emblem pinned to the Duke’s chest, and immortalized by delicate brushstrokes. It made Neuvillette smile a little. Wriothesley, it seemed, had not been able to keep out of trouble for the few months which spanned between his first wearing of the uniform he had chosen for himself and the painting. How reckless, how absolutely him.
//
(Later, at the beach, she dared ask: “Hum…so…how did it happen?” And Neuvillette pondered the question, touched his chin and looked at the sea with utter serenity and palpable happiness.
“It is quite hard to answer. It is tremendously difficult for me to imagine a situation in which I would not be in love with Wriothesley, after all.”
And she gaped at him. Then laughed. Years of thinking she should help him, and here he was, more romantic than all of her novels combined.)

Bookmarker's Notes
“It’s got all of us in there, see? Even Pom-Pom! We made it so that we can always be with you, even if you’re off on a solo mission or running an errand alone!” March explains, also nervous but doing a good job of hiding it. “A-and we left the other side of the locket blank, so that you can add a photo of whoever you like in it. I know you probably don’t have a ton of pictures like I do, but I figured you could probably just use your Imaginary powers to make one, right? I can even show you how to glue it in best so it won’t fall out!”
The man is silent for a few moments longer, an ever-so-subtle quiver in his voice when he does speak, “You… made this for me?”
“Mm.” Dan Heng nods firmly, though his eyes and tone are soft. “We know you’ve been feeling… down, today, so we thought we could remind you that there’s an entire crew here that has your back. No matter what, we’re here for you.”
Welt makes a noise like a choked-back sob, one that turns into a distinctly watery chuckle. “You all are too sweet. What am I to do with the lot of you?”
