Summary
Fuma waited for Yudai, he never stopped waiting. At some point he’d accepted that he might not be out there at all, that he was waiting for a memory.
Then he meets someone just like him, they’re too similar but Euijoo is far from giving up. He will find Nicholas if it’s the last thing he does, so Fuma tries to convince himself Yudai isn’t dead. Just one more time.

"I was about to shower.” Yudai says, voice still and monotone. He doesn’t move, look back, or shake. He stands frozen, gaze burning holes into his bedsheets.
Yudai wants to slap the smile he can hear on Maki's face. “To be honest, I came here without showering. Jo and Taki aren’t here, right? I was sorta hoping we could, liiiike…”
The way his voice trails off makes Yudai even angrier. He can’t explain it, and maybe it’s just an irrational explosion of anger, but he’s not strong enough to hold himself back anymore. Even as he’s spinning around, veins bursting with rage, he knows it’s misplaced. He knows Maki doesn’t deserve this, and yet that doesn’t stop him.
“I’m not in the mood to be your sex toy tonight, Maki.” Yudai snaps, venom dripping from each word. “Go jerk off if you’re that horny and can’t control yourself for five minutes.”
Yudai's had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. In a moment of weakness, he takes that out on Maki.

Summary
It takes him until the end of the street to realize that something is very wrong, indeed.
Their group has never assumed themselves to be the most popular one around, but they’re not unknown, either. They have a strong fanbase in Japan and a high concentration of fans in this particular area, so walking around without a mask is practically inviting unwanted attention and crowding. Even with his mask pulled up, a few people still glance at Yudai, as if half-aware of who he is but unwilling to cross that line over a hunch.
Not a single person looks at Taki.
“What the fuck,” Yudai whispers.
or: something is happening to taki. yudai would do anything to keep him from going away, if only he knew how.
