Goro’s breathing was unsteady.
Ren forced every word out clearly.
“It is because I choose who I save.”
Goro’s face crumpled for half a second before he rebuilt it.
“You won’t feel that way after.”
Ren gave him a small, devastated smile. “Then remember it for me.”
