Summary
Irene has not lived an easy life. From the moment she had joined the Scions she had tried her best to live up to their ideals. Not an easy feat at all for someone who is easy to anger and tends to leap into danger with no regard for safety at all. She figured out quickly that no one appreciates it when she's simply herself, but being what they want her to be is a constant, uphill battle.
And then there is this Ascian who looks at her with an inviting smile and murderous eyes. She doesn't trust him one bit, but his ideas for getting her attention might be just enough to get under her skin and ruin all her hard work. Or maybe, they just ruin her.
