Summary
Buck has spent most of his life locked in a tower, happily, he might add. He'd given up his life as a prince, and while he will never regret it, he wishes his dear sister would write back. Desperate to feel the connection they had, he strikes a deal with a trespassing thief to see the floating lanterns up close, one last time.
Eddie Diaz never lets himself want anything. Not when his son’s future depends on him stealing, doing whatever it takes to provide. But when he takes the crown, his last-ditch effort to finally stop running, he realises too late that he’s stolen more than he bargained for. Now, with half the kingdom at his heels, his only way out is a strange man with impossible hair and an even more impossible demand.
Two days. One journey. And a new dream neither of them is ready for.

Summary
The folklore tales are wrong about oracles. Entranced by power, they miss the details.
Oracles do not predict the future for the future is not a stagnant thing to claim. What oracles truly do is far sinister. Arthur learns of this when he is cursed to transform into a beast on four legs. He cannot lift this curse without choosing between his manservant and the king of Camelot. Bring magic back to Camelot, or kill his father in the darkest moment of the curse.
The stories are right about one thing though. There cannot be peace without bloodshed.

Summary
Buck doesn’t think that if he were to say, “I’m in a bad place”, that anyone would turn him away. Really, he doesn’t. The 118 has too many good, kind people for that.
But every time he wants to open his mouth, to say something, to reach out to Eddie or Bobby or Hen or Chim, he hears Eddie yelling, “you’re exhausting.”

So each day he does his job and he laughs and he jokes and he pretends he’s the care-free goofball he’s always been. And each day he packs away his bruises and his worries, takes them home to his empty loft with its quiet rooms, and licks his wounds in silence.

Summary
“I told you to go,” he says, voice rough but quiet. If Merlin were to guess, he’d assume that Arthur has been crying. But that can’t be. Arthur never cries.
He sets the food down on the table. “Would you rather me leave you to starve?” Merlin attempts at a joke. Surely Arthur will laugh, or get so annoyed that he lifts his head from his knees and proves that he’s indeed scowling, not pouting.
“Yes,” he replies with a devastating sniff. “Now go away.”
After a harsh scolding from Uther, Merlin notices that Arthur is acting a little… strangely. Younger, even. At first, he suspects that Arthur has been cursed— but maybe that isn’t the case.

“I need to take off your shirt. Do you think you can sit up for me?” He really didn't want to make him move, but things would go much more smoothly that way. “At least long enough to get it off, then you can lay back down, I promise.”
“Okay, but only because you promise,” Merlin never expected such a cheeky answer from him in this state, but Arthur rose up. It was a slow process, but he made it with Merlin's help.
He was unsteady, and he looked to Merlin like he was his one and only guide. His gaze told Merlin that he was listening, watching, and waiting. Waiting to do whatever Merlin told him to do. Which was so unfathomably unlike Arthur.
*I've made the smallest edit here, I just lengthened the scene where Arthur gets slapped a little. I had a scene in my head that I couldn't get out, but it wasn't enough to make a whole second fic for*
