He tastes no salt. “You’re the only person I could imagine to have in this life and beyond.” His eyes drag over her face; her golden watery irises, her raw sun-kissed skin, her pink glowing cheeks. In that moment, she is a complete mess and simultaneously the closest thing to heaven he can caress. “You’re divine.”

some nights, when rain did not fall, and the only sound that echoed in their ears was the mechanical rumble of the cars below, they would vomit up their fermented rage with a fury permitted only in solitude. the coolness of the bathroom tile, the small moths that drifted in slamming their little bodies into the single light above over and over. letting the putrid taste remain in their mouth, remembering this feeling, remembering what exactly they were.

Kalluto is somewhere, and Killua’s never gonna know where, because he left, and he gave up on Kalluto, and he was, like, eleven, so can he really blame himself, but he’s eighteen now, and all he can think about is that Kalluto’s still a child somewhere.
And how does Gon look at him and not see a murderer and a coward?
And when he says, ‘I miss my brother,’ the record keeps playing, and the curtains keep waving in the wind, and there’s nothing that changes in the world around him, so it’s like he didn’t say it at all.
