Zoro's been letting shit happen to him his whole life. Alvida's favorite doormat that gives her the occasional splinter. An impromptu road trip with a group of misfits he met yesterday can't be any worse, right? He just has to hide that he's an anxiety-riddled mass of nightmares in place of a normal teenager. His issues may have six sets of their own separate issues, but he can definitely Human and Befriend. This will be fucking easy. If only Luffy and company weren't such wildcards.

Summary
Luffy stares at him, his gaze like an open book, and Zoro feels his breath hitch. If Luffy notices then he doesn’t say anything about it, still continuing to stare at Zoro with parted lips, waiting and barely holding back. A moment that has already been played out before, and the conclusion is just the same as it was years ago.
Zoro steps back, puts a good distance between them.
One man wears his heart on his sleeve, open and free, unafraid to let his wants be known; the other man has his tucked away, hidden and restrained, too afraid to be vulnerable despite what he feels.

Summary
Zoro isn’t too proud to deny that Luffy is one of the main reasons that he’s still living here in the city, and not just because they share an apartment and split the bills he couldn’t afford by himself. Luffy has done so much, and he’s caused more problems than Zoro cares to count. If he’s not fixing himself then he’s dealing with Luffy’s shit and—well, it’s easier to deal with Luffy’s shit because his problems are usually solved with fights.
It’s simple. An easy fix. Zoro’s shit is complicated and that’s why it’s so much easier to let Luffy drag him out of their apartment and into clubs because Zoro has an easier time ignoring everything when he’s drunk or getting laid.
Better still, getting laid while drunk.Or: Zoro prefers to run from problems that can’t be beaten up. He’s doing fine.

Summary
Roronoa Zoro has a problem. He wants to adopt Chopper, Chopper's temporary guardian wants Zoro to adopt Chopper. Chopper wants Zoro to adopt Chopper. But Zoro is broke and has a bit of a past and the World Government very much would prefer Zoro doesn't adopt Chopper. It seems hopeless.
Trafalgar D. Water Law has a problem. He is finishing his residency and wants to stay in the East Blue as an ER doctor. Rayleigh the head of the hospital wants him to stay. The whole hospital wants him to stay. But Doflamingo wants Law back home and has pulled enough strings to fuck with his visa and immigration status and he might have to leave the East Blue. It seems hopeless.
But nothing is ever hopeless when Luffy gets an idea. And two men who feel lost, will very much be found.

Summary
He thinks —he thinks he may have dreamt that he was starving.
He had been stranded and alone, sitting on a rock that towered high above the water with nothing but a dwindling sack of moldy food. The finer details seem to blur when Zoro tries to concentrate on them, but certain images linger, flashing across the backs of his eyelids like old photographs —the dull edge of a salt-stained knife and a spatter of blood across stone, the endless stretch of the grey horizon above an empty sea.
After a chance encounter with an old acquaintance, Zoro begins having strange dreams.
Oddly enough, so does Sanji.

Summary
There’s a scar tucked in between Sanji’s fingers, a jagged rope of shiny white tissue that puckers up from the skin. It begins at his palm and extends up past the second knuckle of his ring finger, tapering off right as it reaches the nail. Even at a distance Zoro can tell it’s not the kind of scar left behind by the neat, clean slice of a blade. Something punctured through flesh and muscle and tore, leaving the skin raw and tattered, twisting in on itself as it healed.
Little by little, Zoro and Sanji learn more about one another. A series of interconnected oneshots.

One thing leads to another, and Zoro finds himself settling down there in the warm of the sun, leaning his back into the sandbags and rationalizing that the others will wake him if he’s needed.
He doesn’t mean to fall asleep in earnest. He just underestimated how fucking tired he was, and what should have been a light nap to pass the time ultimately becomes a whole affair, all because of some nosy fucking Marines.

“Anyway,” Zoro continued amid Sanji’s silence, “I’m not going to die.”
Sanji made a scoffing sound. “You can’t just decide that, asshole,” he said, tying off the thread. He trailed his fingertips over the jagged seam, checking for any imperfections. “You can’t cheat death.”
“We’ll see.”
To Sanji, Zoro is an enigma. An infuriating one, but one he is drawn to nonetheless. For as much self-assurance Zoro appears to have, Sanji has about as much self-doubt. If he can just understand what goes on inside that mossy head of his, maybe he can figure a few things out about himself as well.
Discovering that there might be something other than rivalry brewing between them, is something Sanji isn't quite prepared for.
