Summary
Dick always told Jason he was like one big huggable teddy bear.
Jason didn’t know much about the teddy bear part, considering he shot out kneecaps on the daily, but he knew he was big. 6’3”, built like a goddamn fridge, all muscle and skill—he could probably crush skulls if he tried. He couldn’t figure out why Dick would see all this and think cuddly.
But Jason didn’t entirely mind. He only pretended to, because how could a Bat ever just say what they feel?
But he liked it. Liked how he could somehow make his siblings feel safe. Even if each and every one of them knew the sheer violence he was capable of, they always came right to his doorstep when they needed comfort. Even Cass—deadliest of them all, silent as the grave—had a way of curling into him like he was made of something soft.
So today, when his little birds started dropping into his kitchen one by one, all in need of warm food and hugs, he didn't turn them away. He could never.

Summary

"I don't care about the fucking bike." Jason says. He drops a knee next to Tim's head as he manages to get his hands under the frame and practically throws the thing off of Tim.

Tim had taken out one of his bikes, and Alfred had told him that Tim's in-suit impact-alarm had gone off. The two were correlated, so Jason grappled much, much too quickly toward Tim's location.
OR: Tim got hit while riding one of Jason's bikes. Jason is concerned about his younger brother, then horrified that Tim thinks all Jason cares about is the bike. That in fact, is not true. So much so that Jason takes his anger of the situation out by enacting revenge against the man that hit Tim with his car.

“The bike…” Tim mumbled again. Jason let a shuttering breath leave his lips instead of the sob he wanted. He had to keep himself still, for Tim’s sake. “‘M sorry. I didn’t mean it. There—was… this guy. Asshole.”
“Asshole.” Jason agreed readily. Tim was steadily sinking deeper into Jason’s embrace.
With each blink, Jason couldn’t help but remember what Tim looked like when Jason found him. With the knowledge that someone had hit his little brother, not the kid hitting a wall, he mentally rearranged how he was going to spend his night.
Alfred could take care of Tim once they got him back to the Cave. Jason had been planning on helping, but if Alfred didn’t need any assistance, then Jason had someone to hunt down. No one was allowed to hurt a Bird and get away with it.
Jason focused on how the kid felt breathing against his chest to chase away the image. “I can get a new bike. I can’t get a new Tim.”
It took a minute for Tim to respond, but instead of words, the kid began to cry. Jason hoped that it was because that the kid was starting to believe what Jason had been repeating. Logically, he understood that Tim was most likely concussed and unable to process Jason’s words. The emotional side of his brain, however, kept the nausea present in the back of his throat.

Tim sucks in a breath and forces his left arm out from under the bike. He screams through gritted teeth at the pain it causes, at the white-out from the vicious scraping, but it comes free. Tim wheezes in and out. His head falls sideways to look at the suit where the alarm is meant to be. It's torn out. Tim let's out a strangled laugh.
"No one's coming," he sing-songs to himself, "Yippee!" Except… there's something in the distance. A light zing-thwip that's familiar to his ears. He lifts his head a little, the pounding growing with the motion. He can see a silhouette that's just far enough way to not make out distinct colors but Tim knows who it is.
"Shit," Tim mutters, "Shit." With renewed panic clutching at his heart as it beats too fast, he scrambles with both hands at the frame of the bike. Jason's going to chew his damn head off while Tim burns under the motorcycle and possibly passes out from blood loss. Or the pain in his leg. Or his concussion. Whatever of those three gets him first. If Tim could just get the thing off of him, maybe he could show Jason the damage isn't all that bad (it's horrible and Tim doesn't think it'll ever be in riding condition again). They could fix it together, even if Jason wouldn't want Tim anywhere near his bikes ever again.
