Is this his opportunity to get closer to Till, his coworker and the man he's loved since high school? Which, admittedly, would be much easier if Ivan's first glimpses of Till's thoughts didn't seem to indicate that he actively dislikes him...
What else is someone so practiced in the art of charm and people-pleasing to do but try and change his mind?
This is intended to be a light-hearted, fun fic that takes place in an AU inspired by "Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!" Silly things ensue. 💖

Summary
"Not thinking of marriage yet? We're pushing 30, man."
Ivan's eyes skidder to the side, to the bundles of clouds above, like splotches of ink. The city is alive all around them, the noise of traffic and faraway voices insulated, muted within that private moment.
"I told you, Till. There was only one girl I've ever loved."
The cigarette is flickered to the snowy ground below. Till's face curled in incredulity, something Ivan can tell even without looking.
"Still? It's been nearly ten years. You said you only saw her once."
Wild, choppy gray hair, his button nose is pink, cheeks flushed in the cold, made warm by alcohol. Crackled, thin lips, barely parted. Teal, sharp eyes. Naive. Earnest. Stunningly oblivious.
"I'd still wait a lifetime, just to see her again."

Ivan was never allowed to be anything other than perfect, even if he, himself, knew he was beyond salvation from the start.
An exploration on repression, guilt, self loathing, and a love that refuses to die, refuses to even be called love.
Ivan could only ever adore a woman that didn't exist.

It was cliché—a video game. It started from a text. Messages exchanged through clicks, anonymity behind the screen.
Ivan : Do you like being a freeloader?
Till had to pause for a second, blinking twice, before rereading the messages. His jaw dropped—slack, stunned, like someone had just dropped a barbell onto his chest. His saviour, Ivan, had trash-talked his mediocre at best performance.
Of course, his stupid pride wouldn't let it slide.
Tillia : What the fuck did you just say?
First, he will make Ivan fall in love with him. Then, Ivan will confess all of his emotional vulnerabilities and distresses. Finally, he will reveal his identity as a man and then dump him. He will leave Ivan in pieces, laugh at his misery, and torment Ivan with trust issues so that his confidence crumbles like Till's shitty self-esteem.

“A good lucky charm,” Till twirled the ring from Ivan on his right thumb.
Sua buried her face into her palm, “he sleeps in your bed.”
“He had nightmares as a kid and we continued out of habit,” Till shrugged.
“Are you attracted to him?”
“It’s Ivan, who isn’t attracted to him?”
Sua resisted the urge to smack him with her bag and leave.
It took a near death experience for Till to realize he was in love with his best friend.

Summary
Looking back on his friendship with Ivan, Till should have known something was off from the beginning. He always seemed to do things to purposefully bother Till or set him up for embarrassment in some way or another, but Till didn’t realize this fact until it was much too late.
So, it stands to reason that on one of their many sleepovers during adolescence, Till agreed to play a game with Ivan. The game was seemingly innocuous, one Till had seen played countless times before by other children on the playground or in school. What was weird was the additional rules that Ivan imposed on the game, claiming it was the “real way to play.”
The night started like any other. Till’s mother dropped him off at Ivan’s house in the early afternoon and told the boys she would be back in the morning to pick him up. It was nothing out of the ordinary, this was the same routine they followed almost every weekend for as long as Till could remember.
“Have you ever played Uno before, Till?” Ivan asks curiously, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips.
