Summary
"In reality, Akira knew that he would only need to keep up this routine for nine more days. In his head, nine days sounded like absolute torture. It meant nine more days of ignoring over half of his phone list, nine more days of not being able to leave, nine more days of waking up and staring at the star stickers on his ceiling, hoping maybe this time they'd seem comforting instead of suffocating.
He didn't think he was going to be able to handle it."

Summary
"Soon enough, you find your days blurring together, just going through the motions enough to survive. Waking up, going to school, coming home and staring at the ceiling until you fall asleep."
Akira trying (and failing) to cope with moving back home.

Summary
“But it’s raining,” Ryuji whined.
“The store is just down the street. It won’t be that bad.”
“Easy for you to say! I had to run from the station to avoid getting soaked!”
“I have a solution for that.” Akira got up and walked over to a box near the stairs.
“If you say ‘just take an umbrella’, I swear-” -

Summary
Ryoji finally took a piece of pocky out of the box, staring at it in deliberation. “Wanna play?”
Minato turned his head to look at the taller teen for the first time since he arrived, an obvious look of confusion on his face. “Why?”
“Why not?”

Summary
When he finally accepted that Akira wasn’t going to say anything (at least, not without prompting), Sojiro made more of an effort to reach out. Yet every time he checked in on the kid, he was presented with a small smile and a reassurance that everything was fine. For a while, Sojiro started to believe him. He figured that Akira had no reason to lie, and that he wasn’t getting himself into that much trouble, all things considered.

Summary
The attic above Leblanc was never meant to be used as anything other than a storage space. When it was built, it wasn't insulated enough for someone to live in, especially not during the winter. This is something that Sojiro fails to consider when it starts snowing in Tokyo, and Akira isn't prepared for the cold.

“Sleep was good to you, it seems,” he comments on Ren’s still pale but mostly better complexion when he comes to gather him. He has already put on his school uniform. He got arrested and beaten by the cops in his school uniform. Sojiro doesn’t think he’ll ever stop holding his grudge against the force.
After Sae dropped Ren back to Leblanc in the back of a taxi, the damage from the interrogation room unveils.

Summary
Sunlight peeps through the blinds. Ann laughs loudly at something Makoto shows from her phone, and at the same time, Ryuji groans from losing the game they were playing with Futaba on their phones. Morgana perks from Haru’s lap to see what Ann’s laughing at as Yusuke sketches the cup in front of him.
Ren feels like an impostor, intruding on one of the rare moments of his friends actually being carefree and relaxed. He’s been feeling the undying static in his head for a while. It doesn't seem like it'll phase away.
He ignores that, too.
Back to business.

Summary
Akira was looking at his hands and couldn’t understand why there was so much blue. His hands were cold, and shaking, and his teeth were chattering. The whole room was blanketed with fog. Something bad had happened, but he couldn’t remember what. His sides ached, and every motion jostled him—pain climbed up his ribs and bit him gently on the shoulder.
(or: there’s no blood, this time.)

Summary
It’s not like it comes off as any particular shock—he’s been feeling feverish since he returned to Leblanc yesterday, shivering and wet, both his outer layers soaked through despite what he’d thought was fastidiousness in how he prepared for the weather that morning—but there’s usually a bit of a grace period for him between his stupid, reckless behaviour and when his actual sickness will settle in during which he can stock up on vitamins and cut off any bugs at the source…
But it seems he wasn’t expeditious enough this time. Akira feels terrible. His neck aches like he spent the entire night craning it. His lower back is sore and his arms are weak. He’s not sure he could lift his backpack right now, let alone the heavy bags of coffee beans downstairs that he spends much of his time hauling around for Sojiro. His nose is stuffed up and his vision is blurry; staring at himself now in the bathroom, he sees double, then triple. As he straightens up off his folded arms, he nearly loses balance, a rush of heat to the face all-but bowling him over.
“Hm,” Akira reflects, belatedly, “no good. Better… stay home.”
