Summary
He’d been to… what, twelve different schools now? This wasn't even a new one—just a second chance. It was the one school in the area that hadn't expelled him, so back he went. In December, when all the new kids had already integrated themselves into the old friend groups and the year was in full-swing.
You’re not in middle school anymore, Sally had told him the day before. Kids are more mature now. You know people there, Percy. Reconnect with them.
Or: Percy returns to a school he'd only gone to for a year and a half. He doesn't remember anyone, nor does he want to; all that matters to him is that he'll probably be leaving before the end of the year anyway.
But a certain rich blond boy has other plans.

Excerpt:
"Are you alright?" The unbelievably hot - and now apparently concerned - guy asked him, his voice somehow softening further into something so comforting that Regulus was drowning in it. He was drowning in a caramel voice and forest-brown eyes with flecks of sunlight and dark curls and a deep bronze skin tone -A sharp pain in his side made Regulus startle, and he realized that at least half of the group was now staring at him. Most in concern, though Pandora was too busy staring at a girl next to Sirius, and Barty looked like he was five seconds away from hysterical laughter. He was still holding the pen he'd stabbed Regulus with.
"Um, I - yes," Regulus scrambled to answer, forcing a smile. "Yes, I'm fine."
Sirius didn't look convinced. "Are you sure you're okay?"
No, your fucking best friend just made my brain short-circuit, Regulus thought, but nodded anyway. "Yeah, I'm good."

Summary
Regulus and Sirius Black are half-brothers who enter the foster system as kids and are placed together in the Potter’s household. For a while, they try to find normalcy in their new foster home, until Regulus is taken away by a mysterious aunt from his mother’s side, someone no one had ever heard of. Just like that, the brothers are split apart.
Years later, Hogwarts High is forced to absorb students from Durmstrang High after the latter school shuts down due to low attendance. And Regulus, one of those transfers, is having a miserable sophomore year. To make matters worse, James Potter—one of the people he’s been trying hardest to avoid—is assigned to be his “friend” by the overly nosy school psychologist.
James remembers everything. The quiet kid with the too-big eyes. The way Sirius changed after Regulus left. And now that Regulus is back, nothing is staying buried.
