OR I just needed more of Bokuto being the baby of his family and Kuroo being raised by his single dad and grandparents.

His hands were shaking. He was so scared to move.
The people in the car were freaking out. There was shouting, screaming, crying. People were moving frantically, looking around, digging under seats, trying to find the bomb. The small girl across from Kai was being hugged by her crying mother, but the girl looked far less scared. She was looking right at Kai, overflowing trust in her eyes, smiling, knowing that he was there.
“It’s…It’s gonna be okay,” Kai told her. He managed a smile, barely moving.
“I know,” the girl said. “My mom says you always win, so I don’t have to be scared.”
“Yeah. Your mom’s pretty smart.”

Or, Kai wakes up in a drugged haze to find himself on a crowded train that he didn't remember boarding, with a bomb strapped to his chest. Over the announcements, those on the train are given an ultimatum—kill the person wearing the vest, or the bomb goes off, killing them all. Kai, separated from his team, is faced with the same choice. Meanwhile, the Ninja race to shut it all down before the timer counts down to zero.

Summary
Lloyd may be eight years old, but he was also raised in a boarding school for aspiring villains, then lived alone on the streets for a bit. Obviously he knows how to swear and does so liberally.
The same cannot be said for Zane, a lawful good amnesiac nindroid who spent much of his life sheltered in a treehouse in the middle of nowhere.

She tries to go back through their conversations, hoping to find something relevant, since Zane’s shoulders bend under whatever weight he’s carrying, and he goes quiet again, not offering any more clarification. Then, it hits her, so hard and sharp that her chest actually aches with it.
“Crumbly cookies.” The two words fall from Nya’s lips before she can even think to say them, seeming loud in the quiet kitchen, even with the breathy, gentle way they’re forced out."
