Summary
The mission fails. Time breaks.
A mission gone wrong sends Soap back in time—into a body that hasn’t earned its scars yet. He comes back far too young to carry the weight of the life he’s already lived, stubborn enough to resent every second of it, and with his memories scattered years behind him. Task Force 141 is left holding the pieces of a person who no longer remembers earning them. As time rewinds and Soap grows up again, 141 becomes something between a unit and a family. Through every stage, through scraped knees, half-remembered instincts, comes the slow realization that some bonds survive time itself.
As the years are lived over again—this time surrounded by people who know exactly who he’s meant to become—the line between fate, choice, and identity begins to blur.
Turns out growing up once was hard enough. Doing it twice might be harder.

Summary
A heavy sigh slips past his lips when he’s stripped down to his underwear. It’s still there, he realises. The panic, the guilt, the crippling realisation that he’ll never escape — not merely woven into his clothes, not to be shed too easily. It all sits nestled into the core of his body. A weight on his chest. Carved into the ridges of his brain. It’s not new. Ghost knows. It’s a fundamental truth, a primal instinct. A part of his genetic make-up like the colour of his eyes or the freckles on his skin. It’s not new, it’s always been for as long as he has. Ghost knows, but the realisation chokes him all the same.

It's not the first time Ghost is captured and tortured. But it's the first time he can't shake it off.

Summary
sooner or later. ghost expected one or the other to come at him.
when it comes to this line of work, it could only be safe for so long; rather, it’s a feat he’s managed to stay alive till now, considering that living to see another day is never a guarantee. though, maybe he should’ve known that. he did, but, for a second, for an ignorant, gullible second, he thought otherwise. and for that, the world reprimands him.
(or ghost gets left behind when a mission goes awry. it'd be a lot easier to get back to base if he wasn't haunted by the thought of soap on every turn.)

Summary
“So then why?” Simon demands. “Why am I still in here?”
Ava doesn’t even bother reprimanding him for interrupting again. She takes a deep breath as if steeling herself for what she’s about to say. “We tried to pull you out.”
Simon’s heart freezes. “W-What?”
“We tried to pull you out,” Ava repeats, the words shaky and uncertain for once. “And we couldn’t."
