Coughing again, this time by force, it came back from the deepest corners of his throat, and that was just enough to ease him back to his sleep.

Her path home was only by walking. The last train left an hour ago, buses had long been gone, and no taxis were out on the streets to pick up a woman too ragged and empty handed to afford a simple drink. Are all espers really just blood suckers with powers, like Mob? The only movement that Reigen spots with her tired senses was the frequent drunkard and firefly flashing past her. All espers includes Serizawa, right? The wind rustles the greenery around her, leaving insects vulnerable to their harsh environment. Does Serizawa know she (probably) knows? The cigarette leaves her lips once more to be held with aching hands, vibrant red polish chipping away from her raw nails.

Summary
And Reigen knows that Mob is not his child. Mob will never be his child. It’s not his responsibility to watch over the finer aspects of Mob’s physical health, even if it is his job to keep Mob out of harm’s way to the best of his ability and patch him up when he gets hurt. But the kid looks like he hasn’t eaten in days, and Reigen is beginning to believe that this is true. What other explanation could there be for the wanness of his expression, his kicked-puppy mope unlike anything he thought Mob could be capable of prior to here and now?
(or; mob comes into work hungry. reigen finds out why.)
