Summary
Midoriya Izuku has always been written off as weird. As if it's not bad enough to be the quirkless weakling, he has to be the weird quirkless weakling on top of it.
But truthfully, the "weird" part is the only part that's accurate. He's determined not to be a weakling, and in spite of what it says on paper, he's not actually quirkless. Even before meeting All-Might and taking on the power of One For All, Izuku isn't quirkless.
Not that anyone would believe it if he told them.

This is, legitimately, the best fic I’ve ever read (and I’ve read it a bajillion times since I first read it in 2020. Between the Ace rep (which taught me about qps!), the sheer technical competency Pit has over sentence structure/flow, and how wonderfully descriptive it can be in the right emotional moments without getting bogged down in it, I absolutely aspire to write like this. The intensity of the emotions and the clarity of each character POV, the way emotional recovery/downtime is handled, and the absolute natural progression of both worldbuilding and the onscreen relationships is absolutely incredible. Nothing I can really say will do this fic justice, but just know that there is a REASON I literally jumped and started ranting about how excited I was when I heard news of a sequel!! Also, GeminiWishes’ podfic of this has been like reading the story for the first time all over again, and it is /incredible/. Anyway, holy frick, it’s YUTS, I really can’t say much more than that. Izuku Midoriya can see ghosts, and that actually heavily impacts the plot and his relationships with everyone rather than being a fun fact in a canon play-by-play because Pit is an amazing writer. The prose in this is just. Gorgeously written. I don’t have words, but this read like telling someone your most terrifying secrets and both of you accepting the other and building back anyway. The author really captures both the mindset that Gordon had to have when popping back into the world after Half Life One and the feeling of recovering from it all, and hops heads in a narratively satisfying way to tell the story. Just beautiful
