Summary
This story is a sequel to "Loyalty and Kindness". If you have not read it this will probably make very little sense.
When Marco was a child, Family was a simple concept.
His parents, their crewmates, and their distant relatives. It all made sense.But after officially joining the Whitebeard Pirates Marco becomes aware of the fact that Family can be far more complicated than simply sharing blood.
(Also known as 4 times Marco hears Ace talk about his dad, and then one more time, because i could not get the format to work.)

Marco joined the marines for one singular reason. To get out of the Calm Belt and see the Gand line
However when the ship he is serving on ends up as the prisoner transport of one of the infamous Whitebeard pirates Marco finds his loyalties tested, his worldview changed and the ship sinking.
Now he is seventeen, captured and/or adopted by pirates and he can't really complain about it.
