The rural Atelier to which she has run an entire country away has provided her with peace, but the only place she can get inspiration is around the smiley genius sculptor who inhabits the Atelier's barn.
It's hard being a superstar European author when you can't even work out how you feel about one girl.
Or Agott's journey of discovery about what Coco means to her, what it means to live in a time of dreams and optimism, and how far they'll both go for each other no matter what the cost.
A Victorian/Fin de Siécle Arkco AU where the Atelier is literally an atelier for artists.

Summary
Qifrey and Olruggio are trying to build a life together, but end up becoming involved in so much more when trouble comes to their door.
This series does a speculative deep dive into the Silverwood lore and mechanics, with as much canon compliant flavour as possible. The first part of the series is a prequel fic to the canon timeline, and the next installments follow Qifrey and Olly, as well as their apprentices, as they become embroiled in the brimmed caps’ schemes, and takes place after the current canon timeline (approximately ch 93). From there on, it enters AU territory, unless any of the theories in the works prove to be right.
Each fic is fairly plot heavy, so reading in order of publication is recommended.
The main storyline of series will end with the upcoming third arc, but I may sprinkle in some little one shots within the same universe. Thank you for checking it out!

In an alternate universe where the rules of magic are a little different and calamity has stolen away most of the witches of the world, Coco doesn't discover forbidden magic when she is young. She continues to grow and work along side her mother, keeping the secret of the magic spring that brings them fortune. When she discovers a unconscious body in those magic waters her life is set on a trajectory even the stars could not have foretold. Coco might just change magic and the world forever, but can she do it before she loses the withdrawn stranger who has grown so dear to her heart and showed her wonders without compare? Or is to love something a practice in sacrifice?

Agott is noticeably silent.
“Agott…?”
“Uh,” Agott fumbles, “I think I saw a sigil. When I was examining the seal before the test started.” She produces her quire, draws something, and shows it to Coco.
A figure with two long extended horn-like protrusions. Coco doesn’t recognize it. She looks up at Agott, waiting for her explanation.
“The decorative sigil for the minotaur.”
...
A practical test gets significantly harder for Agott and Coco when it is altered by Forbidden Magic.

"What can I give you?" Olruggio murmurs, gentle against the corner of Qifrey's mouth. The soft sound of the stopper undone fills the quiet. Oil drips onto Olruggio's fingers and residue drips onto the smooth planes of Qifrey's belly, cold.
Qifrey tenses beneath Olruggio, breaths coming short, as he lifts hips up. "Take me."
And take Olruggio does, but he is gentle—frustratingly so. Fingers ease into the softness of Qifrey's body, as if roughness will shatter him. Desire burns beneath Qifrey's skin and he runs nails across Olruggio's shoulders, heels settled into his lower back, as he seeks more.
- Returning from Silver Eve drunk off wine, Qifrey confesses love upon Olruggio's lips, knowing that come morning, all will be wiped clean from memory.

Every year, without fail, an ivory envelope, decorated with blue ribbons at its corners, would appear at the doorstep of his atelier. He would retrieve it from the ground after it announced itself by dropping itself with a soft yet dramatic thud on the floor. The inside would be more intricate than its envelope, lines of golden lace lining the sides, ending at its corners, as his named stared up at him in calligraphic black. At the times he was awake, Olruggio would slip behind him, his warmth like a fire on a cool winter’s day.
“Another one?” He would ask, lingering behind Qifrey slightly.
“He sends one every year,” Qifrey would reply.
For his own reasons few know, including the sender, Qifrey ignores the invitation he gets every year to the Crescent Star Ball. Until this year when he's finally persuaded by his apprentices.

When the morning dew on the grass began to freeze in the coldest, early hours—a sign of imminent snowfall within the week—Dagda sewed him a pair of mittens, constructed with pine-green fabric that looked suspiciously like one of their old sheets, and lined with thick, soft bundles of sheep's wool. He didn't know where he got the wool. He got the sense Dagda hadn't wanted him to know, so he didn't ask, despite his curiosity. He wore the mittens all day and all night, refusing to take them off come bed time.
He tried his hardest not to think about the purple-dyed fingers of the kids stuck in subzero nights. Dying in the cold, alone and afraid. He tried not to think about how much easier Dagda's life would be, if he stopped being afraid, and allowed his body to succumb to the elements.

How Custas met Dagda, and learned to accept that his life was worth something beyond being a burden.
