Summary
In early 1945, Thomas Nightingale finds himself in a London hospital, having survived Ettersberg and recovering from the brink of death after being shot on his walk home. What seems like a feat of utter stupendousness to most proves to be an excruciating burden for Thomas himself. With most of the men he fought alongside lying dead, and his body and mind scarred by unspeakable trauma amassed throughout the war, how does one find the strength to allow oneself to live on?

Summary
As his weight shifts across creaking floorboards and he pries open the window of the largest of the three bedrooms, Dick tries to picture himself living in the space. The impossible idea of furniture occupying it, the echoing beats of his footsteps and breathing that would be dampened by rugs and blankets and curtains once furnished. It's difficult. Dick leans out the window slightly, his breath a puff of white, and looks at the property from a different angle. He can almost see through the large oak tree to where the drive connects with the main road, and his drooping mailbox, and the aborted fence that he needs to add to one of his lists.
He takes stock of the house, and feels a tenderness towards it that is slightly embarrassing - he wants to apologize for finding it wanting, for planning to change it, as though the wood of the floors under his feet were heaving sighs every time he moves across it and finds another thing that needs repair.

Und warum kriegt Frau Klemm den Schreikrampf ihres Lebens als sie erfährt, welche Organisation Boerne mit seiner Rumschnüfflerei auf den Plan gerufen hat?
Thiel und Boerne ermitteln weiter - und geraten in etwas herein, das sogar für ein so routiniertes Duo wie die beiden es sind fast eine Nummer zu groß erscheint...Series

Wie was das ist noch NICHT in meinen Bookmarks gewesen? Schande über mich in alle Ewigkeit.
Beste deutsche RoL Fic die existiert. Das Crossover mit Müsteraner Tatort macht sie zum Deutschen Ao3-Kultstatus. Absolute Leseempfehlung, selbst wenn man eines der beiden Fandoms gar nicht oder nicht so gut kennt ist sie das absolut wert (und auch OHNE das man BEIDE Fandoms kennt lest sie einfach ich meine es ernst.) -

Obi-Wan's breath hitched again. He didn't respond to her for several minutes, only holding her. They should probably get off the tarmac, but she would die from grief if she pulled away from him right now.
"You wait it out until you can finally bear it," he eventually replied. It wasn't the answer she wanted, but there probably wasn't any other. She tried to picture Obi-Wan waiting around and doing nothing. She tried to picture herself doing the same thing.
