Simon wasn't sure exactly how long that metal door with a symbol he'd never seen had been imbedded in the wall of the SM-13, but as he was slowly getting consumed by the flood of crimson and the reek of iron, he didn't really have time to think about it much. He just knew that when he saw it start to open, he would take the risk if it meant he wouldn't die here.

Summary
Matthew was sick of living in Alfred's shadow, his own twin brother who would forget he existed in a heartbeat. Matthew's whole life had been spent tucked away behind his warmly beloved brother, soaking up all the warmth so Matthew was left with nothing but bone-deep cold. No matter how hard he tried, he was never enough and never measured up. A lifetime of neglect had taken its toll and left him empty and bitter. When a child is abandoned by a village, he will burn it down just to feel the warmth. He knew it was wrong, but it felt so so good to chase the warmth. Once he started he couldn't stop. He was spiraling into chaos and with each escalation, he couldn't help but feel comfort in the terror he brought.
Or, Matthew unintentionally intentionally becomes a prolific serial killer, unintentionally intentionally disrupting the life of his twin brother and all his friends as he starts on a path of destruction.
