It was a constant dance of banter that bordered on flirtation. Hawks was a natural at it, it had been ingrained into him from as far back as he can recall. The commission knew what to grind into him and how to play it to his advantage. It was a sport to him, and he regularly engaged with it with fans, other heroes, and even on previous missions. Hawks played to win, and he always scored.
Should he be engaging Dabi with those tactics? The obvious answer was no, but that line had been blurred for months.

Hawks gets a bit drunk shortly after the League of Villains joins the Meta Liberation Army. There's a party to celebrate and Hawks knows he shouldn't seek Dabi out, but he cannot help himself.
