Summary
Dan Heng was starved of many things in this life. Tied to his dark, sinful past, tied to the long, dark days he spent behind bars searching for a source of light despite himself having long gotten used to rummaging around needing less light. More on guard on senses, more highlighted, more used to hormonal crashes that made him violent—amidst those crashes, he never once felt love.
He could not provide well for this tiny being he’s currently nurturing. The thought sat heavy, firmly sinking down each of his working nerves—reminding him of his place, reminding him of how helpless he actually is—that if himself as the parent role, could not afford enough, then how could he rely on others? How could he twist the reality in his mind? How could he make it less heavy, less hurtful?
Was there anyone to console him during this silent fight? Understand what he actually goes through instead of reading out symptoms from books and attached his body with multiple diagnoses that he swore did not feel an ounce regarding the growth of the baby?
Blade. Always that man, always lurking around, always there when he spirals.

As his body had sustained harsh conditions, weathers, explosions—and even the vivid memory of the dark chambers surrounding his frail, malnourished body—starving him of light, of warmth, of basic necessities. Hands of the past gripping his ankles, harsh enough for him to feel the chill of it years later, stopping him from feeling whole—constantly running, despite everyone around him telling him there’s nothing to run away from—could he ever understand himself?
Could his mind ever stop? For once showing care towards himself instead of wandering around incidents of the past? Dan Heng thought about the sheer boredom of this cycle, until a voice echoed near awoke him from the tangle of his mind—Blade's voice.
