A court secretary lowered his brush and recorded the line without hesitation.
Yi Gon’s hand rested lightly against the arm of his seat. “By royal determination,” he continued, “the Jung omega has been selected.” His eyes moved, landing fully on Wooyoung. “You will be prepared for presentation to the court.”
Wooyoung flinched violently.
His father lowered his head immediately, voice careful. “Your Highness honors our household beyond measure—”
But Wooyoung stepped forward and the words escaped him unbidden.

“Oh my god,” Yeonjun interrupted, exasperation mixing with something warm and unsteady, “are you actually jealous?”
Soobin went very still. The tips of his ears burned red.
“Of course not,” He stopped, exhaled, and then looked Yeonjun dead in the eye. “It’s just—” Soobin swallowed, glancing over his shoulder like he was checking that none of the engineers were paying attention. “I don’t like seeing you in his number.”
Yeonjun tried and failed to smother a laugh. “You’re ridiculous.”
Soobin stepped closer, close enough that the faint synthetic scent of his fireproofs and helmet cleaner reached Yeonjun’s nose.
“What?” He asked, oblivious.
“Take it off.”
Yeonjun gaped at him. “Excuse me?”
“Take it off,” he repeated.
Yeonjun stared at him, heat rising up the back of his neck so fast he thought he might actually pass out.
“Soobin,” His voice came out thin and incredulous. “I am not taking my shirt off in the middle of your garage.”Or, the fastest pilot in motorsport and the most gifted figure skater alive never meant to fall in love. But somewhere along the way, it stopped feeling like just friendship.

The word stirred something deep and aching in Seonghwa’s chest. He’d watched them from behind fences, from village edges, and from the safety of chains. Wolves who moved together, slept together, and fought together.
“I won’t stay,” he promised quickly. “Just—please. Let me rest.”
Hongjoong straightened, gaze flicking briefly to the other two. They waited on him, tension coiled tight.
“You get three nights,” Hongjoong said. “Until you can walk.”
Hope flared so bright it hurt.
“After that,” Hongjoong continued, voice hardening, “you leave. You are not pack.”
The words landed like a reminder, sharp but fair. The pain stung, but Seonghwa couldn't be mad. He wasn't pack. Relief crashed through Seonghwa anyway. His chest heaved, breath shuddering.
“Thank you,” he whispered.
