Summary
When in doubt, Eddie figures you can never go wrong with a classic. Before he can think about whether it's a good idea or not, he squirms a hand down into the back of Steve's sweats and grabs for the waistband of his underwear, fully intending to yank it up.
Only he gets a wide strip of elastic… and nothing else.

Summary
“It’s okay, you know,” Gareth says, propped up against the brick alley of the Hawk.
Eddie’s crouched like a gremlin, shoveling popcorn into his mouth and trying to coax what he thinks is a cat out from under the dumpster. “What’s okay?” he says.
“To like. Like him. Harrington,” Gareth says, shoving his hands in his pockets. “I’ve seen him at Melvald’s and he’s, like, weirdly charming to everyone. He even looks like he means it.”
He does, Eddie thinks, which is what makes it so sinister. Whatever. This stretch of insanity will all be over with after the holidays, and he can go back to New York, live out his wildest dreams, and forget Steve Harrington ever took up any space in his brain at all.
Or,
Five years after the defeat of Vecna, Steve Harrington runs an animal sanctuary.

Summary
In which Eddie is stuck in suburbia with a Steve who mows the garden shirtless and insists on wearing short shorts.
Steve has little red marks on the backs of his heels from old blisters, or something, and above that on the soft flesh of his hairy shin a little black mole. It’s frightening, to know these things about Steve, Eddie doesn’t know what to do with it. He feels like he should tell someone, the gossip rag down at Hawkins High (who are still inexplicably — or perhaps justifiably — interested in Steve Harrington). Steve’s curled up in a chair now, reading glasses on his nose and little frown on his face, reading their bills or taxes or something (Eddie and Robin have been banned by him from getting involved in all of that), heels and moles on display for the whole world to see.
People shouldn’t be allowed to see Steve like this. Someone needs to tell the press. It’s a national concern. His hair is being all… Eddie slams his mug down on the counter and scurries out, slamming the door after himself. Awful.

Summary
Dustin walks in on Eddie and Steve being strangely domestic.
Steve is cooking eggs because he’s hungry, apparently, and he seems to know where weird shit in Eddie’s kitchen like whisks are kept. He knows how to get the gas hob on first try even though Dustin’s been round loads of times and Eddie’s made him hot cocoa on the stove and said that one always sticks, and he makes Eddie’s coffee right without even asking.
“So, kid,” says Eddie, tongue sticking out and paintbrush poised, “what brings you here?”
He wants to ask what brings Steve here, and apparently often as well, but he just drinks his juice and stares Eddie down.

Summary
In Miami, on vacation with his parents, Steve meets Eddie. So what if he doesn't get a last name or a phone number, it was a summer fling and they had a great month together. He doesn't realise it was Eddie fucking Munson until the guy has a broken bottle to his neck and they're about to go face interdimensional aliens together. Steve doesn't know when his life became a very fucked up and non-musical version of Grease.
Robin’s lips twitch. “And it was just a summer fling?”
He narrows his eyes at her. “What?”
“You’re such a hopeless romantic, Steve. Sometimes I don’t know what to do with you.” He must look as confused as he feels because she laughs and says, “Dude, you like sighed his name, you’re so done for.”
“Shut up. It’s not like I’m ever going to see him again, is it? I’m never even going to hear his name again. It was a summer fling and that’s all.”
