Summary
Langdon won’t look at Robby. The walls keep closing in, of the room, of his life. Maybe he deserves it, but the claustrophobia of his every minute movement being surveilled and scrutinized, of being jerked around like a dog on a cruel master’s leash, is starting to make him feel insane.
It was supposed to be a good day, a fresh start. He thinks he might really throw up.

Summary
Be kind to yourself, Cassie says in his head, soft and gentle. But Frank can’t. There is no world in which he can be kind to a version of himself that hurts Robby, especially sober. He’s supposed to be better now; he’s spent ten months clawing his way back inch by inch to being a person instead of a loose collection of hurts and cravings and spikes that pierced anyone nearby. But it seems that the version of himself that can connect with Robby, see eye-to-eye with him, talk to him without feeling like a gut punch, died the day of Pittfest last year.

Summary
Langdon comes back from rehab with feverish eyes and a near-constant grimace. He's just as fidgety as ever, just as snarky, and just as competent, but he doesn't look Robby in the eyes. Robby returns the favor. The trust between them disintegrated as soon as he pushed Langdon out the door. As soon as Langdon decided not to tell Robby he was struggling. Neither of them know how to get it back.
Robby has to wonder though; if he'd tried harder to fix their relationship, maybe this wouldn't have happened.
Frank Langdon angst, based off the original character description that he overcame a 'devastating back injury' to become a doctor.
